Question to all tech people I checked: http://www.dell.com/support/article...ntel-me-txe-advisory--intel-sa-00086-?lang=en I did not see my firmware are whatever this is please explain?
well, it is true that we should update our systems as soon as possible but this is not something to panic about... our systems needs to be targeted first before they could take anything from us. Our devices are like a few leaf in a very wide forest and this thing is no wild fire.
i don't know is random... my desktop pc i made it my self... and has Win10 Pro... my laptop has Win10 Home and receives updates more frequently than my desktop Pc
Well let hope it update and the I don't know if I need to update my firm ware. I checked: http://www.dell.com/support/article...ntel-me-txe-advisory--intel-sa-00086-?lang=en but my firmware was not on their.
I took issue with your claim that other cpu brands only MAY be at risk which is wrong. They ARE at risk. Patching OS is only a stop-gap issue since it's a problem in the architecture itself. As for technical data, i'll wait for the full release, but from what I've read so far, your explanation is correct.
well it said that most intel would be getting updates by the end of next week ,but i am not to sure on how to update firmware.
One of the bigger worries is that your browsers can be used to hi-jack information and Chrome users are strongly recommended to activate strict site islolation. To do so, go to chrome://flags/#enable-site-per-process and click "enable" on "Strict site isolation." You'll be prompted to restart your browser, but after you do that, your browser should no longer be vulnerable. Chrome is slated for an update in a few weeks that should mitigate the risk even further. Also to note, these attacks aren't too worrisome for personal users for now, since it requires a process running on your system to execute, and by that point, a lot of other things can go wrong. It's pretty much only able to read from your memory as well, so it's not like it can force you to start mining bitcoin and such. It's a much bigger issues for cloud services.
How to Check and Update Windows Systems for the Meltdown and Spectre CPU Flaws Mainstream web browsers are effected too (or those based on them) so make sure to include those update too.
Get yourself a Raspberry Pi those things are not affected. But don't panic. The most basic exploitations of spectre and meltdown are fixed in the newest versions of the mainstream browsers and the whole thing is rediculously comlicated to pull of in the future. Script kiddies won't go the extra mile to do something like that. But Spectre in particular will be a new attack vector for all CPU's that support branch prediction and will never truly be fixed.
seems like i need to buy a new one.. wow, this helps me to look more broadly on how computer system works *change shifts into information technology* course
How about i7 for today? Cause I'm thinking to buy a gaming loptop that has i7 cause I know it was good for gaming reasons
