The hermaphrodite looks a pure cosmic dummy (outer-space itself can be seen on its surface) as the gigantic serpent could be the universal phenomenon known as time, space, space-time, dimensions, or the force, flow, direction of the universe with the hermaphrodite as the contents. Hard to explain and visualize on my part, but you get the picture, right?

Hmm...though your opening about the universe is very very very and I mean very literally weird, you do have a fair point. For as long as man have walked in all forms of life, it’s not far fetched that building blocks of the whole universe is one giant serpent. It could also be a cluster of webs that connects our universe to other universes.
