ahh batoto that support other scan team with respect is now gone which is ironic because that's also the reason why visitor are low manga being remove because the scan team ask for it manga being delayed because the scan team ask for it losing visitor because the scan team ask readers to go their site and all blabla demands they want wew
Poor mangaupdates always seem ignored on those threads... *pats MU's head* Well, they wanted to be a site that supported the scanlators, so it couldn't be helped. Though I was surprised when I visited batoto a week or so ago to check if some pages of citrus were with poor quality on the scan I had found or not... And discovered they didn't have a mobile reader... I was like... "Seriously? How do you expect to win against aggregators without even a mobile reader? That's basic..." It was a good ideal, but had its own problems.

FYI, Pururin is back alive. So if you have stuff that went missing when Pururin went under, go back. It's the same Pururin. Not sure if accounts are still the same. I forgot my pururin account name. No, batoto never stole stuff. Batoto was never an aggregator, they never stole content. Batoto was a hosting site for small time scanlators who couldn't be bothered about making their own websites and scanlators who consented to their work being uploaded. If any scanlator wanted any of their scanlated mangas removed, batoto would remove them without any question. Very few mangas were uploaded against the scanlator's will on Batoto and those that do were quickly removed once reported. I tried reading your link there, but I don't see any mention anywhere in that link that Batoto stole anything from anyone. You're likely thinking of the old mangatraders that we scanlators hacked to death and fox (and their alternative sites here and another that I forgot the name of). Those are aggregators, they run scraper bots to scrape content from Batoto and other scanlator websites. Low effort, high return. Batoto on the other hand, is high effort, no return.
With only agregator site that is left now, I wonder how far will the manga scan scene fall... Maybe some people are okay with their stuff stolen and continue? Hm...
Everyone is okay with their stuff being stolen, because it has always been stolen and it will keep on being stolen. (those that aren't already quit long ago) Anyone that wishes to support the translators will use mangaupdates to keep track of releases and will read on the translator's site. Anyone that doesn't wish to support the translators will keep on using aggregators like they always did. Nothing changed, the only difference is that mangaupdates is a tad less practical than batoto.
I already bookmarked some of my favorite manga in their tl site. It's just that not every tl have their own site. And i despise going to /a/
Oh wait, now that Batoto is gone, where would /ak/ translation go to now? My weekly dose of isekai! Sure, LH translations has their own isekai stuff, but they have different titles.
