It's short for homosexual so.. No. It isn't a slur.. It isn't offensive.. It's just a fact. People can get offended by it if they are accused of being gay but aren't or they are gay and they are hiding it. Spread the love.. No homo.
nothing offensive with that pic, well maybe its different for more "sensitive" people Exactly, lots of people easily triggered now *shrug*
Yep, I think that’s it. Apparently, homo was used somehow offensive. I just learned it as homosexuality. I guess I live in a liberal place and the LGBT ️ group is celebrating so using the word homo doesn’t mean anything but in places where LGBT is not celebrated, it could be used derogatorily?
this cat feel offended with how calm da respond! give me cookies! homo as in homo sapien or homo on liking same gender? meh personally I don't care
If the person was offended then he/she should explain why it was offensive to them. Who knows, people are so easily triggered for the most insignificant thing. Like "you're face offends me!"
Everything is offensive to someone now-a-days. Nothing is safe. Therefore, don't worry about what others find offensive.
In Some POV, it wouldn't have been offensive if it had existed in the past. (past means = 1.5k years ago or before christ). Yea damn right !!!!! In some POV, it just doesn't looks the right way. || || || , it's just a new thing but sadly how the heck it turned into something between same genders. || || || , gross. Since when did man could become woman without turning into one (same goes for the woman). || || || , couldn't be bothered. If I don't care why does it matter, don't bother me and I'll ignore it. Everyone got their own way. Some POV I thought in a different perspective.
I think it's more important to ask yourself if you feel it's offensive? If the answer is no, then who cares what others think. Only opinion that truly matters is your own.
a good way to put it is that gay saying this particular term is not offensive while for the straight saying this is offensive.
As others have said people will get offended over anything nowadays. It is compounded because the words can be used by some people and not be offensive but used by others it will be considered offensive. Example a gay man could call another gay man queer and it be OK but a straight man calling a gay man queer could be defined as offensive. It is like the Chris Rock film Down to Earth when he is the white man singing the rap song filled with lots of N*gga's and offending all the black people around him even though he was not intending to be offensive.
If being called homo is offensive, then so is being called straight. (Gay people accused of being straight.)
We're all Homo sapiens so I don't see the issue. Are they offended because you're calling them human? Same difference.
rather than offensive for the gay/yaoi/BL/homo stuff, i'm more inclined to say it's portrayal of a fujoshi might be more offensive. definitely not a flattering portrayal, it's only missing a dream bubble surrounded by rose petals and sparkles. granted, i've no horse in this race, so i don't really care either way. if pushed, i might say it's offensive in the same way neon lights are offensive to look at, but that's about it...
