Most people eventually "smarten up". The business model is quantity and a revolving customer base. With a lot more other stuff.

It seems it's not just paywall, for RTW there is only 1 chapter per day now, so you basically have to buy 1 extra per day to achieve the same result.

No. If you buy one chapter today, then tomorrow there will be no free chapter for you.

 

So as a free reader not really worth to buy with ss, unless you stacked them and don't mind spend them now

So, assuming we accept that QI is going to stick with this model, what I want to know is if free chapter unlocks are account specific. Let's say free chapters are unlocked until chapter 100. I buy a bunch of spirit stones and I unlock chapters to 200, so now it's like this:

Free chapters: 100
Unlocked chapters: 200

If I stop buying chapters, is my next free chapter 101 or is it 201.

If it's chapter 201 then everything fine, however, if it's chapter 101 that means that for almost 3 months I won't get any new chapters without buying them.

I unlocked a few chapters ahead in one of the test novels so I'll get back during tomorrows unlock with the answer to this

 

I'd say there is a 95% chance of the next chapter available for free being the 101, not the 201.

But well, good thing you're testing, will make it easier to know~

 

That's my opinion as well, but I want to get hard facts before I decide to drop QI and go to pirate sites. (if it actually is account specific free chapter unlocks then it's just simply annoying but I don't mind supporting the translators that way)


edit: (not related to above) lul, I signed up for 2 accounts on the same day, QI seems to give welcome bonuses randomly since one of them got 100 SS and the other didn't

 

Maybe they check by ip, so to difficult you from creating accounts

 

Doubt they use IP for login, what if you have 2 computers?

That got me thinking, what if we made a giant account where lots of people use it to buy chapters and share with others people?

edit to avoid dbl post: So just to confirm for anyone wondering, free chapters ARE NOT account specific. So if you unlock 10 chapters ahead of the free chapters, you will have to wait 10 days to get free chapters again! This also means that even with free spirit stones you are locked to 1 chapter a day (since you are unlocking 1 chapter ahead of the free chapters using the free stones)

Because I don't have a lot of interest in bestselling novels. I'm a high fantasy buff and most of my fav authors don't have new books out yet

 

I thought there won't be any paywall? Well, I'm willing to pay but that's for a fully translated novel not per chapter.

 

For reference, with the current bonus spirit stones (although I do wonder how long that will last), $50 (7500ss) gets you 681 chapters assuming an average 11 spirit stones a chapter.
