The drama is based on Journey To The West, with all the main characters except for Princess Iron Fan who died before World War 2 in Manchuria. It's not exactly the same thing, but the premise is the Journey To The West did happen, this is like a thousand years later or so. Thanks, but this is a white dog. So it's probably not the same dog then.

Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey). It just aired this winter. BTW, the actress is Lee El and the character she portrays in this drama is Ma Ji-young. I don't know who Ma Ji-young is supposed to be as I can't speak Korean.
