Premium on QI acually more expensive than actual Premium books on Kindle

So I did a simple math:

Kindle version of Words of Radiance on Amazon cost $8.54, that is 483,000 words book edited by layers of professional editors.

And if you spend $9 on QI to buy Spirit Stone you get 1500 stones, 1000 out of 1500 stones has EXPIRATION DATE so you actually only buy 500 stones permanently. I will pick RTW here as example since it's one of Premiums on QI. 1 chapter of RTW cost 7-8/chapter, so 1500 stones only able to unlock less than 215 chapters, around 350,000 words, translated and edited by some random people on the internet and we have to deal with typo, grammar mistake, and hardheaded translators who keep using pinyin.

There might be some mistake but I'm here because I have some free time and did some simple comparison between price here with the price of an actual Premium Ebook on Amazon. If you have some correction feel free to correct me

Comparison is invalid, since it implies you WANT to read the kindle book as much as the Qidian webnovel. Value only means shit if it's something you actually need or want. It's like saying,"Hey, don't go buy chocolates at supermarket X because supermarket Y is selling aubergines for half the price!".
In any case, in the matter of books i could also say "Why would you pay 10 bucks for a book if you can get Kindle Unlimited and read a whole crap ton of books for the same price?"

 

jap cheaper than patreon only acess to ONE maybe two novels
AND if you dont read a month you waste a month full

No patreons I know slowed down regular releases though. Some even increase the pace.

Every time I see someone say something like this in these qidian threads it makes me think you guys waste a lot of time~

Take it nice and easy and read the chapters when they’re free. Be lazy~

 

There are different tiers of Patreon though, some as cheap as $1 a month but regardless, Patreon is just an optional show of support for the translator. This premium what ever that QI made is just a way to suck money out of people, they don’t give a shit about the translators..

Chinese game is also like this. It making you want to buy the dress in the game so much you can't bare it. And you just use real money to buy those dress in the game. LoL! The user interface in game make me lose many crystal which I buy them with real money. Really, chinas marketing is so good, I want to learn from them!

Don't know about you but there isn't a single book on qidian that makes me so anxious for an update that I'd buy spirit stones.....chill and wait for an update. There are a couple of good books on there, don't get me wrong but not worth real money. I personally feel better when I could use patreon and I know it goes direct to the translator or ko-fi....feels like the good old days.But everyone has their preference and taste.

 

I can't wait until a novel actually gets finished then all you free guys sit around cry that the last 10-50 chapters require you to pay for it and are never offered for free. And all those so happy with the stash of free SS when they expire or run out. People only think short term and not long term.

 

At least qidian taught me how to be patient. Coz I really like hoarding spirit stones.
