I’ve got a question, for certain equipment items, do I need to buy them from the market before I can put in my profile?
    @Naraku
Or whoever is still awake to answer

    Background:
The child of two elementals, one a water elemental and one a wind elemental. As such the child was born dual elemental. This combination made her a stormbringer. As stormbringer, the person has the ability to invoke weather disasters on a large scale. Thus due to their ability, the people greatly feared and detest them. Especially as their history is filled with many stormbringers losing control of their ability in great emotional distress. In order to rectify such a problem, a stormbringer is eliminated immediately upon identification. The only reason why Artemis is still alive is because her mother is reluctant to rid one of such ability especially as Artemis is of her blood. Therefore, when Artemis’ mother identified her as a stormbringer, she immediately had a mask forged to restrict her ability, making her pretty much powerless. Afterwards, she kicked Artemis out of the family to find her own way. Thus Artemis’ story begins...

    MISC Information

Looking at the paper he got, Umbrum looked at the person and smiled as he began to talk with a cheerful smile.
"Artemis is it ? Quite a nice name~ My name is Umbrum ! Simply Umbrum ! Pleased to meet you !" After hesitating to whether propose a handshake or not, he continued to talk.
"Anyway, the papers are good ! Hmm... if I am not wrong, you are the first elemental with two elements !"

EDIT: Yup ,they are all good from my POV, anyway, sorry for the short response, I missclicked and needed to edit quickly ! >.<

    Name: Sartre
    Race: Vengeful Spirit
    Sex: None
    Age: 46
    Position: Member
    Rank: E

Equipment: Airtight Plague Doctor Uniform, Scalpel,
Inventory: Treatment Tools, Sealed Diseases, Poison,

    Specialty: Curse
    Spell Name: Plague
    Spell Type: Curse
Spell Description: Sartre uses magical power to create an almost invisible projectile made of germs that, should it succeed in entering the enemy's body, start feeding off his Od to multiply exponentially.

    Spell Name: Confusing Cloud
    Spell Type: Curse
Spell Description: Using magic, Sartre creates a cloud of poison that, upon inhaling, disrupts the basic senses (sight, taste, hearing, touch, and smell).

Spell Name: Fight poison with poison
    Spell Type: Healing
Spell Description: With Sartre's knowledge of medicine he can, upon properly identifying a poison or sickness, create a poison with mild side-effects to cure it.

    Spell Name: Immunity
    Spell Type: Barrier
Spell Description: Grants temporary immunity to diseases to the target.

    Spell Name: Bloodletting
    Spell Type: Curse
Spell Description: Keeps a bleeding wound from healing and causes it to keep bleeding until the spell is neutralized or canceled.

As a young boy, Sartre's village got attacked by bandits. While it managed to defend itself, killing most of the bandits, many of the villagers were wounded. From that moment on, Sartre decided to become a doctor, so that if something like that should happen again, he could help the wounded. He was very talented, and soon, some people even traveled for weeks, just to get treated by him.

When he was 21, his pride and ambitions could no longer allow him to stay in the small village, and thus he traveled to a nearby city. While his fame rose, the village slowly deteriorated and got destroyed a few years later, not that he really cared or noticed. He was too busy with treating his patients.

Then, when he was 39 years old, a magical plague broke out in the city he was staying in. He, of course, was unaware of this, and thus tried to treat it with ordinary means. With more and more people dying in the city, it was put under quarantine, and Sartre started wandering the streets, visiting house by house, desperately trying to save the ill. But not once did he succeed, and finally, too obsessed with curing others to notice that he also was infected, died due to the plague, like the entire city. But for reasons yet unknown, only that city was affected by the plague.

Even with all inhabitants dead, the city remained sealed off. In this city filled with corpses, those that died in despair and anger, a place filled with residual negative emotions, many ghosts and undead were born, including Sartre. Now a twisted version of his human self, he likes to spread disease more than treating it. But part of his previous personality remains, allowing him to mostly control his urges, and integrate into human society.

Personality: He is very prideful and, upon noticing someone hurt or sick, may even feel his pride challenged and try to treat him, no matter the time, place, and person. Equally, he may see a healthy person and feel challenged to make that person sick. But even with that, he remains mostly rational. However, he is rather arrogant, and thus can be a rather unpleasant person to be with.

Feeling somehow familiar with the feeling that the newcomer emitted, Umbrum seemed perplexed as he looked over the papers, beginning the procedures with a cheerful.
"Sartre is it ?" When the person came, he didn't say a word which made him perplexed, nevertheless, he didn't wait for a response as he continued to talk on a kind tone which never lacked a warm emotion in all of his words.
"Anyway, the registration is completed, everything is in rules !" As he said this, he gave to Sartre a iron plate on which it was engraved Sartre's name.
"Here you go~! Now, you are part of the Magic Association !"

"Wow..." This is what Umbrum as he saw another supposedly androgynous person coming here, but it was understandable, he was simply a child so he still didn't finish his growth. Seeing his state and after a sigh, Umbrum smiled kindly as he thought that this child had it harsh.
After looking at the registration papers, his smile twisted as he didn't know how to react, he wanted to pat him but he didn't as he talked.
"Hello Dyrus, welcome to the Magic Association, I honestly hope that you will find your happiness here. And well, here is your Association Badge." With a smile, he gave to Dirus a iron plate on which it was written his exact name, however, he didn't stop there as he didn't let Dyrus go away right away.
"We have normally a Magic Association's Uniform, most people doesn't take them because they prefer to wear their own clothes which I understand but..." When he looked at Dyrus's outfit, he was... conflicted, he didn't know how to say it without offending him, he thought a few seconds before speaking once again.
"Anyway, take it ! If you need any help, be sure to call me ! And welcome again ! Be sure to be healthy and don't overwork yourself, alright ?" Maybe, he felt pity or compassion because he was a small child ? May be why Umbrum seems a bit insistent for once. Even if he doesn't seriously care about his life, other's lives is another matter.

OOC: Hmmmm... I am not sure...
Well, I suppose that Body Strengthening can be transformed into a spell, at least, I have something similar with my character...
About Cadaver Absorption, honestly, I am perplexed, I don't know if it's alright or not... it may be only me...
Finally, about the background, gods died a long time ago, so currently, there is no gods which kinda contradict your background... at least, that's how I see it.

@The Everdistant Utopia I have some questions before I make a character:
    - What spell category would poison spells fall into?
    - Does my character have to have come from an academy before entering the association?
    - If my character was something that gained sentience when magic reappeared, what should I classify my magic as: systematic or wild?
    - To clarify, think of a tree that gained sentience and has the natural capabilities of using magic, like magical beasts, etc...
    - As my character develops, are we allowed more than 5 spells, or are we always limited to 5 max?
I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I just wanted to be sure on these things at least before I get ahead of myself with character creation.
    Thanks in advance~!

((Hmmm... probably either in Offensive or Curse. Depends on the effect, but either is fine~
    If in doubt, use Misc!))
    ((You don't need to~

    We accept any newcomer~

I mean, we accepted a crow that entered from the Association's window as a member, so... :sweating_profusely: ))
    ((Ah, probably wild magic~

Hmmm... If there's any doubt about Wild Magic, you can ask~))
((You're not limited~ As you go on, you can develop new spells as your character grows~))
    ((No worries~

((Ah, just a last thing to note~

Basically this mark is a tattoo-like think in your body. It can expand and move, but when not being actively used it settles in a certain part of the body and in a certain shape, varying from user to user. The color also varies too~
For example, one of the witches shown in a report had a red mark in the back of her hand, shaped as a triskelion. She could make it expand to cover her whole arm, but when not using it went back to the same form and place~))

    Name: Trima
Race: Umdhlebi tree (link here for a description on wikipedia)
Sex: Had no gender before gaining sentience, but now assumes female gender
Age: 423 (gained sentience 230 years ago)
    Position: Member
    Rank: E

Due to her having no real concept of equipment, and little interaction with civilisation before, she does not possess any.
    - Umdhlebi fruit (always grows from her so cannot be quantified)
    - Branches (naturally broken off from her main body, they possess the qualities of being excellent conductors of mana)
    - Mana crystals (crystallised sap from her body that naturally collects mana, they grow within her so can be replenished)
    Wild Magic
    Wood Element
    Water Element
    - Poison Gas
    - Curse type
    - Using the natural poisonous sap within her, she turns it into a gas and creates a cloud of poison within 3 m around her.
    - Symptoms of the gas include: chills, headache, bloodshot eyes, severe pain, abdominal swelling, diarrhea, fever, delirium, and death.
    - Healing Fruit
    - Healing type
    - Using the red and black fruit that grows from what is now her hair, she can heal most poisons and wounds.
    - If the fruit had been growing on her for a particularly long time, it can replenish mana supply and heal wounds.
    - Injecting her mana into the fruit increases the effectiveness of the healing properties.
    - Natural Sense
    - Misc(?) type
    - Becoming more attuned to her surroundings, she can detect plants and their properties
    - If she digs her roots into the ground and connects to the root network of plants, she can communicate with them to get information on nearby surroundings. This however means she must remain stationary and literally rooted to the ground.
    - Replenish
    - Healing type
    - Digging her roots into the ground and spreading her hair wide to the sun, she can gather nutrients and sunlight to replenish lost energy, naturally converting it to food and mana.
    - Once this spell is activated, she must remain stationary.
    - Wood Manipulation
    - Offensive/Barrier type/Misc. type
    - She can manipulate her body that is made of wood.
    - She can extend her limbs and appendages
    - She can harden her skin, forming a hard, protective layer around her body
    - She can sharpen and harden her fingers/branches, making them effective weapons.
    - She can manipulate her outer layer of bark to look like clothes, her leaves to look like hair, her branches and roots to look like limbs of other creatures.
Originally an umdhlebi tree, she was the cause of death for anyone who dared venture close to her. Her natural poisonous body released toxic gases into the air that had terrible consequences for any creature to was unfortunate enough to enter in its vicinity. Beneath her lay the skeletons and corpses of many cases where such consequences were met. These corpses made the soil surrounding her rich in nutrients and fed her well. Her fruit was desired by many locals for its medicinal properties, known locally as a cure-all, however very few were brave enough to attempt to collect it. 230 years ago, when magic began returning to the world once more, she became affected and evolved. At first, she gained sentience, feeling a sense of self form inside her as she noticed a new energy beginning to amass within. After a few weeks of gaining awareness, she started thinking about her predicament, unsure of what was happening to her and why she was thinking at all. In the distance, she could sense organisms moving on - what looked like to her - two roots. They moved together and had strange bark covering their bodies. Interested in these creatures, she began to observe them as daily life continued as usual.

After a few years of observing these creatures, the feeling of lament would sweep through her body every now and then. Her fascination with these bipeds - humans as they were called, yet she did not know this at the time - made her feel unsatisfied with her solitary position, surrounded by nothing but death fear from those who came near. Wanting to experience the sensations of walking and on two roots, she began to subconsciously manipulate her own body to mimic the form of her objects of interest. Although, due to her not really having a grasp at using magic - which is what she was doing - this process of changing shape took some years to achieve.

After roughly 15 years, her body no longer looked like an umdhlebi, but that of a beautiful woman with tanned, smooth skin and dark brown tattoos going down her leg, giving her an elegant appearance. Inside her a large crystal made from her poisonous sap had grown, taking in the mana of the world and nourishing her with it. Realising that her appearance had changed, she noticed the crystal within her and felt the different energy coming from it. Wishing to get closer to the creatures, she knew that she must uproot herself in order to move closer to them. Using the, somewhat, familiar energy from the crystal to move her body, she began to painfully tear her roots from the corpse-enriched soil.

Over the past two decades, the locals of in the area had been spreading word among each village of how the flora and fauna had begun changing and some more deadly than before. Not understanding what was happening, they sent word to the nearest city to have an academic have a look at the situation. Every time they requested answers, the city remained silent, more bothered about maintaining the walls protecting the city and increasing trade within the area. This went on for years, until the mayor of the city received a report most unusual; a letter had arrived from the city guard, along with a report left by a group of hunters who had gone into the nearby mountains for food and herb gathering to sell in the city. The letter did not seem that strange to the mayor, but the report...well, that was something else entirely.

Within the report, it detailed how the group of hunters had gone to the closest village to the mountain, wanting to stock up on rations and water before venturing out for their hunting. What they saw could only be described as a scene from the cursed lands of the afterlife: bodies.
    Corpses.
    Mutilated remains.
    Rotting flesh.
    Death.
Not a single villager was alive and some of the hunters began to feel ill as they neared the deceased. However, that was not the strangest thing about this scene, for in the village square, the middle of the settlement, was a beautiful, naked woman made of bark weeping golden liquid. At first, the hunters had walked closer to the beauty, wanting to examine her, but they soon noticed as they neared that their eyes were becoming itchy, their heads hurting and pain spreading through their bodies. One if the hunters realised the symptoms were worsening the closer they got to the woman. He then thought to the rumours that had been spreading of plants changing shape, some even moving, and he came to the conclusion that the woman was one of those cases. Shouting to his companions to back away, the woman began moving towards them, her arm stretched in their direction, a dark brown tattoo on her thigh expanding to cover her whole leg. Sensing danger, he told the men to run away before the hunter closest to her was skewered by a long, thin branch. The woman made weird sounds and never stopped crying. She reached out her other hand and skewered another hunter, before the rest escaped to safety, returning to the city to make their report.

Disconcerted by this report, the mayor sent a group of soldiers to have a look at the village in question, only for them to not return. The people from the villages near the site came in droves to the city, claiming a tree monster was on the rampage. Not knowing what to do, the mayor could only think of burning the forest in a bid to kill the abomination. After a week of the forest burning away, there was naught but ash remaining. Feeling appeased, the villagers - with the aid of the city - began rebuilding their homes, no longer scared and living in fear for their lives.

On the outskirts of the mountain was a woman, weeping golden liquid and feeling a pain that was not physical, but emotional. feeling saddened about the death and destruction she had caused, she thought to herself: I must learn how to control this energy. I don't want those creatures to fear me. With that, she secluded herself in the mountains and learned how to better control her new body. After 40 years of living in the mountains, she finally returned to the base, where a village resided. She had learned to not release the liquid within her and to make the bark on her body look like a dress. She observed the movements of the villagers and listened to their conversations.

Sometimes, she would turn back into a tree out of fear they would run away from her again, and the children would play around her, not suffering from any poison like before. On one such occasion, a girl was pulling her mother to it, saying: "Look! This is the tree, Ma! Isn't it beautiful? And this fruit is so tasty!" Seeing her daughter happy, she smiled and took a fruit, before thanking the tree and leaving with the girl.
Trima...she called me Trima...is that my name?

Staying in the area for a few more years, Trima eventually grew curious of what other things she could learn, and so left the place she had grown up in, wanting to understand what she was and what was in the world.

Travelling for over 100 years, she observed the many races she came across, eventually finding herself in a country that had a place called a Magic Association. Her interest piqued, Trima made her way to the building, eager to find out what new things she would discover about herself and those around her.

Moving serenely towards the desk in front of her with an ethereal grace, Trima looks to the person sat at it and says:
"Is this the Magic Association? Is this a place where I can learn new things?"

    OOC:
Sorry it took so long, I was looking for an image that best suited how I wanted her to look and this was as close as I could get. Just imagine red and black baubles/ hair ornaments dangling in her hair. Do say if those spells are not good enough and I'll try to think of better ones. I just felt that these spells would be what she would learn to do first since they are basically extensions of what she already is.

Also, sorry for the boring backstory, I just felt like people should know what struggles she had to deal with when she first gained sentience and how she coped with her new situation.

(If there's a lore version of hell, I will put that into the back story instead of 'scene from the cursed lands of the afterlife'. I didn't know what the equivalent of hell would be in this game.)

Thanks in advance for looking over it.

((Sorry for taking long... Went to check many things to make sure everything was okay~
    It's all good~
Well, the backstory didn't felt boring~ It was quite good.

There isn't a lore version of hell yet, BTW.))

While he was looking over his papers, Sorgre noticed a new arrival. "Hm... Welcome to the Magic Association. Yes, it's here where out mages learn how to control their powers and develop them further! This whole building, no. This whole city is made by the mages and for the mages!" Smiling, he placed a badge over the counter. "This is your Association Badge. With it, you can stay in any inn for free, although the food will still be in your tab. As for other functions... Well, recently we unlocked some communication functions, so you can contact associates as long as you're not too far away. Of course, the staff too, so don't hold back when needed."

@Nahrenne We also have [Spirit Warriors] & [Crows], so if you end up as a sort of [Flame Bruiser], it's cool.

    "...I see...thank you."
Picking up the badge, Trima stared at it for a long while, not knowing what to do with it.
    "..."
Looking around, she saw other people wearing badges on their bark and so tried to do the same.
    "..."
Only for the pin to bend into an unnatural shape. Getting a bit agitated, she tried to fix it, before running away.
