I see you still have not completely explored the novels, but consider expanding it to atleast 3stars and above

 

Idk because I have a long list of want to read and pending novels , which I'll never read or will read in the summer (wow great summer holiday you loner QAQ)

For me, it should be Jun Juiling and Pivot of the Sky. Of course, there are more I can't remember. A lot of series which got finished before the TL boom.

 

It's an optimal way to use the summer vacation(not being sarcastic)
Even i have multiple lists of novels i have yet to read...... Plus I conducted a < 3.7 novel search not listed in any other list and a series search (check my reading list) and many of them are not read
And i still have to organize my list and completed novels...

Underrated? More like overrated.

Really. The rating has 3 stars as OK, 4 being GOOD. If a novel gets an overall rating 3.9 (GOOD) that somehow is "underrated." LIKE WHAT? Just because they like the story they want it to have an overall rating of 5 stars even thought the story has many many faults. Three point something is a good score already.

I think this is more about perception really. I mean, 3 stars is already OK, but somehow, in here, it means the novel is bad. Like, a novel just can't be OK, or GOOD. It has to be SUPER or else it's underrated.

2 most liked reviews are negative and thus turning away readers. Those 2 guys are idiots who wrote about their pet peeves and not actual reasons this novel supposedly sucks. Their main reason is : it isn't a real dating sim boohoo.
Who the fuck cares? It's great the way it is. In fact if it was a trash sim, I would be rating it 1 or 2 stars, so in essence those guys are complaining that the novel isn't trash they expected.

That's why I usually don't read novels below 3-4, there should be reason for their bad rating

Probably something which I put on hold because translations stopped and nobody else has picked up.

It's a novel I expected to be more popular, even by the standards of what's popular it should've have a lot more visibility, lol.

 

I completely agree with you and I rate like this mostly with no novels getting a 1
The problem is people like us are minority and as such the rating tends to be skewed towards 4 as average as such anyone who sees a 3.5 star novel would assume it to be bad

Usually the reasons are:
1- Harem, virgins hate harems.
2- Foced sex/rape, most dislike it, but some more than others.
3- Slow start, read 20 chapters and there were no "explosions" and face slapping....
4- MC didnt do exactly what the reader wanted, "why is he so dumb, why didn't he do this or that!".
5- Bad reading skills, completely misunderstood certain parts or believes foreshadowed things came out of nowhere.
6- Crappy starting translations, we all hate this shit, but usually they get better later on.
7- MC is not a saint, some people believe they are holier than thou.
8- Only look at flaws, all novels are flawed but sometimes you have to be unbiased and not just rate everything you dont like a 1star.
