Discussion Amusing Story of Chinese Authors

I just found this out and had to share:

The Charm of Soul Pets had a really sad ending. I won't describe it, but it was very depressing but author was very satisfied with it. Actually one of that author's friends who was a writer himself (writer of
Versatile Mage) came to his house as a guest and when he (COSP author) went out for shopping, hacked his PC and threatened screw up his author account unless he didn't write a alternate ending.

Seeing his author friend's behaviour, he realized that his fans must be pissed and so CoSP author decided to write a new ending which was more hopeful.

Not everyone like "Happy Ending", a spoiler of some sort for what kind of ending is it?

Not everyone like a happy ending, but more people do if this wasn't the Disney would not be where it is today by retelling old and dark fairy tales.

I don't even have the slightest clue about the novel but that ending is definitely sad.

 

The novel has a good focus on the MC's character, you sympathize with him and so that ending is a double punch in the gut.

 

The ending was good, why should the author change it?
I mean, the fans are raging because their fantasy isn't real, not because the ending was bad ( Plot-wise ).

And here I am longing for a good ending and not a rushed one.

 

I never said it was a bad ending. It was gut-wrenching, but certainly epic as hell. Beseech the Devil's ending was amazing, but ISSTH retconned it.

 

I mean the fans are raging because of the Author's choice of ending, and that choice is not a bad one.
Basically, the fans are selfish.

So a Loop ending? Seem like a good ending.
Sadly I couldn't empathy with you guys for this ending. One of the reasons is that some of my stories follow this type of ending, I couldn't be sad about it since I also wrote this type of ending, I like to write sad to bittersweet ending and still haven't written a Happy one. Another is that Kagerou Days song, 2 kids trying to save the other from dying with same loop for the other.
