Hold on a minute there. Vampires aren't afraid of salt. To get rid of vampires, you need to cut off its limbs, store them in different vessels away from the main body.

You need to hammer a stake into the heart of the vampire so that it can't use its powers, then keep the main body in a sealed coffin underground. You have a very small window of opportunity, though, around a few minutes only. So unless you're Superman, you need to get a few strong people to help. Cutting his head while you do this gives you extra time, but not much. Remember you need to keep his limbs apart, but not too far apart. Around 10 meters from the main body should suffice. You can even dip it in concrete and make it a tombstone or pavement or something.

But anyway, for Penanggal, you can put iron nails around the baby. If it reoccurs many times, have the local villagers organize a night patrol, find where the penanggal came from. Then when the penanggal leaves its body, turn the body around (if the body face up, turn it to face down). The penanggal will lose its power when it return to its body in the wrong position. Don't worry, penanggal is very specific, they only drink the blood of babies, they can charm adults, but that's about all they can do, at least until their pact is complete. It's rare for their pact to be complete since they get killed before that happen, so don't worry.

 

Vampiric variant but not exactly a vampire, only its nocturnal nature. This creature is truly weak against salt if its the torso-flying demon, but if its the bird demon, then salt doesn't work but faith or holy mantras work. I may had exaggerated since they're kind is rare now, especially in human settlements.
