Spoiler Rebirth of the Tyrant: Regent Prince is too Fierce

I actually like. I read the mtl raws up to 200 something chapters. It's pretty good. The mc actually thinks about the long term consequences of her actions like she refused to reveal the formula and secrets of explosives. She plans ahead to secure her future, her brothers' future, and the dynamics of the four countries. I think the mc is much smarter than other teansmigrating mc. 8 chapters and a few spoilers are too early to judge.
I especially love how the mc uses her experiences to change her own life. She lived a hard life, she knows better than anyone how hard living is and makes the decision of not living her life for revenge. She decided not to judge people for what they might do to her in the future but who they really are. She could've ruined the ml life or kill him but she realizes the ml of the 2nd life isn't the same guy who tortured and killed her, he's her younger brother.
There's an abundance of touching and cute moments between ml and mc. Especially since ml finds out mc likes it when he acts like a child or cute. Whenever the mc gets mad at him, he immediately acts all cute and begs for her forgiveness. You actually see their relationship develop and how they overcome distrust between each other. Like I'm at the point where the ml unconditionally trusts mc.
If you want ml to suffer for the torture in chapter 1, he does suffer later on. Like in one arc to save mc, he cuts his flesh out and slits his wrists.

ML wants MC to go somewhere with him so he does a little strip tease, to try and seduce mc. Since he knows mc thinks he's hot he tries his best to be all seductive but mc is all like wait a minute.

ML tries to grow up asap and acts all mature so mc decided to tease him, making him blush all over the place.

I'm still reading so that's all I could think of now. Take my input with a grain of salt since I'm using mtl.

 

Yup, this novel really isn't that bad so far. I haven't gotten to the later drama parts yet, but it's okay.

ML is actually not that bad. He pretty much went insane in MC's 2nd life because of everything he went through and was a rabidly loyal dog to white lotus because of that (she showed him the only kindness he ever received, even if she was a terrible person using him). So 2nd life ML is not really ML's entire character.

ML in MC's 3rd life is what he would have been like if he hadn't gone insane, because MC pulls him back from the crazy. He still has his yandere moments, but he's much calmer. He also seems to have imprinted on MC like a baby chick lol. He and MC are very cute together, they trust each other a lot and sorta tease each other.

MC realizes (very early) that it's not fair to pin everything that 2nd life ML did onto this 3rd life ML, because 3rd life ML didn't do anything to her. In fact, he's ridiculously loyal to her. When they were both super young and weak, he even risked punishment/death by Emperor by running to where Emperor was and pleading for him to save MC (because MC was getting attacked by assassins from this one concubine). He and MC are both super unfavored children, so he was taking a HUGE risk by doing that.

 

Wait 3rd life? Now I'm confused

 

1st life: Modern world
2nd life: MC's first time in ancient world
3rd life: MC's second time in ancient world (think she transmigrated to her past self)

 

Can anyone spoiler about 1st life and second life.

 

I don't know anything about her first life, but 2nd life we know a bit about from prologue and beginning:

-was tortured nearly to death, then finished off by insane!ML by orders of white lotus
-tried her best for love, just like insane!ML tried his best for white lotus (whom we can presume he had feelings for)
-insane!ML had a harem, but he was cold to everyone except white lotus
-white lotus doesn't even give insane!ML the time of day unless she's using him
-MC had an ex-lover who supported her (not sure if they broke up or what, this part was confusing to me)
-insane!ML really was pretty much insane from all the crazily cruel things he went through in the lowest of the harem. There was no MC (as in 3rd life) to make things better
-MC had a shifu (someone from a martial arts sect). In 3rd life, she missed the right time to meet shifu and get apprenticed under him, but she remembers how to practice martial arts from 2nd life
-MC was too showy and overachieving in 2nd life, which led to some disasters for her. She brought too much modern world knowledge too fast
-one of primary reasons why white lotus succeeded was because she had insane!ML's support. In 3rd life, all this support goes to MC

There's probably more, but this is all I can think of for now.

 

Can someone pls spoil the time they live at the cold palace and what chapter did they get out?

 

This is actually what kept me reading because Chapter 1 had me ready to riot over the idea that the guy who kills the MC is going to be the ML. I find this to be a relatively refreshing take on the rebirth/reincarnation trope and the MC to be surprisingly forgiving which leads to more interesting developments and more nuanced characterizations. It's a nice change of pace from the usual scheme-counterscheme-faceslapping-I'llwreckyourshitfordoingmewrong plotlines these tend to follow (not that there's anything wrong with a good scheme and faceslap).

And the translation quality is excellent.

 

Who is MC real father?

 

Her mother died before she could tell MC about her father, so its an unknown character & I think he might not have any importance in the plot too..

 

I'm halfway through the novel, and perhaps there are more mystery involved, but so far...
MC's father was the king of Xue Country.
Basically Xue's authority was divided into the royal family and the holy family. MC's real father was the king from royal family, while MC's mother was the daughter of holy land's master. Holy land contained enormous treasure, MC's father wanted that so he seduced MC's mother. The holy land master originally didn't agree, but by that time, MC's mother was pregnant, so he allowed it reluctantly. Then later, MC's father killed the holy land master and MC's mother ran away (or was kidnapped) with the Emperor.
As to the chapter that I currently on, I didn't know whether MC's real father was still alive or not.

EDITED: MC's real father seemed to have died, because in the chapter that I read currently, Xue people was ordered by MC's half biological brother.

EDITED 2: Apparently the king of Xue Country was still alive and only died later in the story (around 600-700th Chapter). Also, he wasn't MC's real father.
MC's actual father was her mother's half-brother. Her mother was treated like a test subject for poison by her father. Her half brother was very talented yet ruthless. She was raped by her half brother, then she had an agreement with the king of Xue Country (he never touched her). So the holy land master wasn't killed by the king of Xue Country but by his own daughter, MC's mother.

 

Just finished this novel and these are some of my thoughts...

• The epilogues were kinda overkill, I guess the author were trying to tie all loose ends. (MC got to see what happened after her death in 2nd life. Almost every 2.ML had their HE. The ex-husband went back to MC's 2nd life right before their wedding, the other prince (later emperor) of another country who liked MC got reincarnated into modern time where he became MC's adopted older brother.)
• MC got that protagonist halo, where all of the male who met with her will fall in love with her. (All of the prince/future emperor of the other country, a general from the other country, a son of a general from MC's country, white-lotus' cousin, MC's teacher in her 2nd life, and so on.)
• There's a cultivationish theme but not really delved further... (thank goodness)
• MC's mother's life was like those MC in dog blood novel.

Spoiler: MC's mother's life story

So first she was raped by her half brother, then she fell in love with the Emperor and married him. She refused to abort the baby, but then she faked her death and left her daughter with the Emperor (which was not her daughter's biological father), because she got bored contesting with other women for Emperor's affection. Then she never attempted any contact with MC. She met a kind vassal king (wang), fell in love with him and married him, but when she accidentally met MC when MC was amnesiac, she acted all motherly toward MC. However, when she suspected that ML was hunting MC out of revenge, she willed to sacrifice MC for her people's safety. Then when enemy threatened her with her husband's life, she willingly became their hostage, which in turned used to threatened MC.
And for the final punch, her kind husband was actually her half-blood brother in disguise. He used her as the host for his mother gu, which control MC, so finally MC's mother jumped off the cliff and killed herself....
Tbh, at the beginning, she kinda reminded me of those heroines (MC's enemy) in quick transmigration-theme novel.

• Honestly out of all MC's parents, the Emperor was the most decent one. He doted her more than any of his biological children, and although there were few times when he wanted MC to die to protect the country's peace (when MC's holding secret weapon, or when the ex-husband went all cray cray and tried to kill ML, hence the country was almost at civil war), in the end he never had heart to do it.
• My fav kinda sad moments...

Spoiler: MC faking her death

MC and MC's ex-husband (GC) was building a canal, MC was using her handmade explosive for the first time to speed up the project. GC was attacked and in coma, suddenly they were call back by the Emperor. Because GC's condition, they had to delay their return. The Emperor kept insisting their return because his officials had been telling him that GC was just pretending to be in coma and that they were using the explosive to rebel.
MC escorted GC with a luxurious ship that she actually planned to give to the Emperor as his birthday's gift. The common people escorted the ship as they were all grateful for the canal building. As soon as MC arrived and when the Emperor saw GC's condition, he knew that those official had lied to him, he regretted ever doubting MC.
MC refused to hand the recipe for explosive and asked for 3 things. 1) GC to be restored of his crown prince position, 2) The Empress (GC's mother) to be called back from the temple and reinstated to her original position, 3) To help ML (GJ) and be more kind to him. MC then told the Emperor that originally she planned to give the ship to the Emperor, but she changed her mind, then she blew up the ship.
The ship was shredded to pieces, the Emperor tried desperately to salvage MC's remain while thinking that 'he do want the recipe for explosive but not at the expense of MC's life'.
MC managed to be saved by one of her admirer (he used to be one of white lotus's admirer who then realised her true face).
GC woke from his coma, and upon hearing about MC's death, he was in some kind of catatonic state, refusing to respond or do anything, until MC's admirer visited him and secretly told him that MC was still alive.
During the 3 years MC faked her death, the Emperor supported GC as the crown prince and allowed ML to amass a large number of military armies.

Spoiler: GC giving up

So GC was becoming more and more twisted. In the beginning, after MC stated for the first time that she would never fell in love, he even proposed to ML to share MC together. He would become the Emperor and ML would be the regent and then they would imprison MC in the palace, and he would allow ML to take MC's first (while thinking in his mind that later he would kill ML). Of course, possessive as ML was, he refused the proposal.
Then later after GC found out that MC had slept with ML, he drugged MC with aphrodisiac, but unfortunately for him, at that time MC was poisoned and the aphrodisiac caused the poison to flare up and she became mad. Hundreds of armies died before ML finally managed to stop her, and because of this incident, the Emperor who actually was just cured from a deadly poison, was dying (his poison became active again).
Finally as the last resort, MC visited GC and told him about her 2nd life. They actually had once married and he had failed her. So finally GC gave up.

Spoiler: The Emperor's death

After MC killed hundreds of armies, she understood that she wouldn't possible allowed to marry ML. She visited the Emperor and cried at his bed side because of his dying state. The Emperor told her that while he didn't blame her for that, he also couldn't allow her to be the cause of conflict between GC and ML, which would cause unrest in the country. He told MC that being buried alone was lonely and asked her to accompany him. MC agreed but asked for a day of being ML's wife. The Emperor agreed and then asked MC to wrote the decree and stamped it herself.
MC accompanied the Emperor everyday, and on the last day, after MC went back, the Emperor wrote another decree. Later, the Emperor was announced dead. MC shocked as she was just talking with the Emperor and during the funeral procession, she cried and also prepared herself with her death decree. When the decree was announced, it was actually not her death decree but the decree that stated that her marriage should still go on despite the Emperor's death. The Emperor also left her with another decree that stated that MC wasn't his child, so that MC could rightfully marry ML. MC decided to temporarily keep the latter decree though, as it could damage Emperor's reputation.

• My fav funny moments...

Spoiler: MC's male pet and new residence

MC was feared by many due to her knowledge of explosive, to prevent her being forced to reveal the recipe, she swore not to marry (so she would stay and became the power of the country instead of married to another country and became the risk). The Emperor fell guilty for her, so he onesidedly decided that MC should have a bunch of male pets. He began listing the criteria such as; the male must be talented; still allowed to join in officialdom; tolerate MC with another man; did not have any other woman beside MC; and in case of divorce, wasn't allowed to remarry, etc.
He put out those, and to his surprise, many applying for the position. He happily informed MC while they were eating together, which cause MC to almost spurted her food to his face. Then on the competition day, ML appeared and threatened all of the candidates. All were intimidated, except for one of MC's admirer (a Wang, but not of royal family). ML told him to go home and asked for his grandma's permission first before applying to be MC's male pet.

MC's residence was finished and she moved in. She was happy about the huge bed and started to roll around on the bed, but then she noticed there was something under the quilt. A naked man, shown up. Emperor's closest eunuch had taken initiative and send MC a male pet. MC recognised this man, as in previous life, she had met him. He turned out to be the prince (or vassal king) of another county. In her last life, MC had caught his sister, then his sister had unhesitatingly betrayed her own parents and brother.
This man, (LCWJ), tried to seduce MC to no avail. LCWJ tried to make MC embarrassed by stripping off his clothes, but MC showed no reaction and told him to continue. When he was all naked, MC approached him and tied him with nylon rope. Then MC took out candle and whip from her space, and started to interrogate him by whipping him and dropping the candle wax on him. LCWJ felt humiliated but also a little aroused
Anyway, he managed to escape later.

Then later, ML came to visit. MC scrambled around trying to hide the whip and the candle, but ML still found them. When ML asked, MC tried to divert his attention to no avail, so she promised to tell him later.

Spoiler: MC's first time

Before this, MC had seduced ML many times but ML still try to restrain himself as he wanted to give MC a grand wedding. MC gave him 2 pills and told him to use it when he couldn't endure anymore.

Anyway, MC was poisoned which caused her to be in berserk state. ML gave her the 2 pills thinking that they were some kind of antidote. So after taking the medicine, MC was still in berserk state, but in another direction. She started to rip off ML's and her clothes and then "attacked" ML. ML tried to restrain himself, but then MC took out her whip from her space, and everytime ML tried to restrain himself, MC would whip him. In the end, ML succumbed, and let himself "went with the flow", with MC on the top. Anyway, because MC consumed 2 pills, instead of one, so she had to do it many times before the effect went off.

 

Can you go into more detail of what she saw happen in her 2nd life after her death, ex-fiance going back in time, and the other prince becoming her step-brother in modern times?

This happened after MC did her 1st time with ML, she fell into coma...

Spoiler: 2nd life after MC's death

MC opened her eyes and saw ML headed to the palace. The city was decorated with red and ML looked a bit older, around 30 years old (ML in 3rd life supposed to be around 17-18 years old at that time). From the people's conversation that she overheard, she realised that she was back in her 2nd life, 6 months after her death, and today was SML (the white lotus)'s coronation to be queen.

MC headed to the palace and overheard that GC (ex-husband) had been sick for a couple of months, everyone suspected that it's because ML had poisoned GC. GC had been estranged from SML and she was ready to jump ship to ML. SML had been trying to contact ML, but he had been cold toward her. Previously, even though ML was cold, he still did what she asked him to do, but now he ignored her.

SML thought that previously she had heard the rumour about ML in cold palace, how he had gotten his throat injured and how he still had military connection on his maternal side of the family. She thought that it wouldn't be bad for her to get on his good side, so she had pretended to be nice to him, sending soup and sweets, try to take care of him. He still acted cold toward her, yet he helped her many times later. When he heard her telling him that she liked GC, he helped her to be at GC's side. Meanwhile, ML thought that SML was a fool. Which man would send the woman he loved to another man's bed? He was only using her to create conflict between MC and GC. Since he was a child and after numerous betrayal, he had been very perceptive of who was fake and who was really true to him, and he could sense that SML only wanted to use him.

ML came to visit GC's bed room, an eunuch tried to stop him but ML barged in. MC saw GC, but she didn't feel any hate any more, nor any other feeling, MC had let go all of that. GC looked very sick and when he saw ML, he was angry at ML, and asked ML why did he have to kill MC? GC didn't want MC to die, he only want MC to cool her head at the cold palace, and then when MC admitted her mistake, he was willing to doted her again. When he saw MC's corpse, all tattered, he knew that only one person had the ability to do that to MC, ML. In these 6 months, the reason why GC was ill, wasn't because ML had poisoned him, but because of his own heart's sickness.

ML laughed at GC and told GC that the reason that GC fell ill was because he had been feeling guilty toward MC, he knew that MC's death was his (GC) own fault. ML then proceeded to told him that the torture that MC had suffered was all done/ordered by his beloved woman, SML. Then ML told GC how he had created a suspicion that MC had wanted to be a female empress. With a whispered from officials (which was ML's person) and bed talk from SML, GC easily suspected MC. GC was angry, but then ML told him: the reason ML had done all of that because MC was his opponent and his biggest stumbling block, but what about GC? Wasn't he MC's husband? And yet he easily doubted MC, the one that very true toward him. ML went out of the room, while GC was calling out MC's name, asked for her forgiveness.

At that night, SML was throned as the empress. GC went into the hall, and upon seeing SML, he scolded her and asked people to call in his Empress (MC). GC asked where MC was, and why she hadn't arrived. ML mocked GC and told him to stop acting like fool. Tonight, ML was going to overthrow GC. ML told GC that he was an incompetent Emperor, and the reason why he could sit on that throne was MC. That's why ML had been trying to get rid of MC. As ML's soldier were seizing the officials inside of the room, the imperial army showed no reaction. Most of the imperial army was MC's loyal subordinates, and after MC's death, they had still doing their duty as usual. At first, they hated ML the most, but then they realised that MC was killed by ML because MC was ML's enemy, so it's given that they had been trying to kill each other, but what about GC? Wasn't he MC's husband? Now the one that they hated the most was GC and SML. So a few days before, finally one of MC's powerful subordinate agreed to work with ML.

SML panicked and tried to jump ship to ML, she asked ML, didn't he love her? Now she was willing to be with ML. ML sneered and asked SML to show her willingness by stripping in front of him now. ML wasn't tempted by SML, but he only felt that the red colour was tainted by SML, and thought of MC who wore red clothes. To everyone's surprise, SML started to strip shamelessly. ML then mocked GC; look, this is the woman that you love, you have sacrificed MC for her. ML then told SML that he never loved her, he only felt that she was useful, and he actually really hated sweets. Everytime SML forced him to eat that, ML hated SML more. MC was surprised, because since she was with ML, she always share her sweets with him, but ML never showed any sign of dislike, on the contrary, he was very happy, so she had thought that ML loved sweets. ML then ordered his soldier to imprison SML.
Seeing the whole process, GC gave up and admitted defeat. GC told ML that he only had one wish, to be reunited with MC in afterlife, so GC asked ML to bury him with MC. ML told GC to rest assure, he will be buried together with with his Empress. Just as GC felt relieved, ML told him that his current Empress was SML, not MC. GC was angry at ML, ML left the room, then GC thought that if there were a reincarnation, he hoped that he would reunited with MC again, and he would not hurt MC ever again.

ML went to visit SML in prison and told her that since she was very helpful toward him, he would be lenient to her. SML was happy but then ML told her that she could choose the way she died. SML was speechless, ML said that since she couldn't decided, he would try them one by one.

GC then was isolated in his original crown prince residence until his death. He spent everyday staring at MC's drawing, reminiscing about MC.

ML was in his residence. He read all of MC's achievement (arithmetic, geology, etc) and told his subordinates to implement them, then he told his subordinates to have a strict rule on explosive's ingredients (Previously, MC had been blamed by common people to be mass murderer because she had invented explosive). ML also told them to made the historian wrote the original fact, instead of the one that had been woven by SML. Previously, SML had ordered the historian to painted MC as some kind of demon, and her, SML, as some kind of kind hearted fairy who had helped GC ascended the throne. But now ML ordered it to be written as it was, and let the future generation judge MC. MC felt complicated, as she just found out that the one that clean her name was actually her enemy, ML. Meanwhile ML's subordinate thought that if ML was the Emperor, perhaps MC wouldn't have to die. ML would still wary of MC and thought of her as rival/opponent, but ML would be too proud to kill MC.

ML's subordinate then told ML to started to look for his consort, ML refused. ML thought that there were no woman who was worthy of him. He then paused and thought; actually there was one, but she didn't belong to him.

ML then thought that the reason he had been against GC all this time, was because he was jealous of him. GC was the same unfavoured prince, but he got MC who supported him throughout everything. If only he had someone like MC beside him, then perhaps he wouldn't...

ML was asleep in his bed. MC looked at him and compared this look of this and the younger one. MC suddenly felt playful and kissed ML. She thought that ML wouldn't realise, since she was just a soul, but ML actually awoke and asked who it was. MC laughed and asked ML to guess. ML asked: Gong Yi Mo? (MC's name)

Then MC heard ML's sound calling her from far away. MC awoke from her coma, and saw that she was wearing ML's shirt. MC accused ML of taking advantage by stripping her naked. ML looked somewhat angry and asked her: ... you rly don't remember anything? (MC was the one who ripped both of their clothes in her mad state, and she also kinda forced ML).

2. ex-fiance going back in time...
I don't really remember this part perfectly because the author put the first 2 chapters randomly in the main story, and then continue them in the epilogue (which was more than 200 chapters).

The story began after GC died when he protected MC from falling from the cliff....

Spoiler: GC's side story

GC woke up in a dilapidated crown prince residence. He was still at the same age as when he died, 22 years old. (In MC's 3rd life, GC was never disfavoured. After MC's fake death, the Emperor had fulfilled his promise to MC, so GC's life as crown prince in that lifetime had been smooth.)

An eunuch came and told GC that he would be married in a few days to a girl named Shang Zhen. The eunuch comforted GC that although SZ was a rude woman from jianghu but she was very knowledgeable and would be very helpful for GC in his path to throne. GC asked the eunuch about the 7th princess, but the eunuch told him that currently in the palace there's only up to 6th princess.

GC was in despair, because God let him being reborn, yet he was in the world without MC. GC convinced that MC was still in this world, somewhere, but first he needed to sever the engagement with SZ. He wrote a request to the Emperor and also for SZ and would gave SZ a hefty sum of compensation.

Sometimes later after he sent the letter (a day or perhaps several days), someone suddenly barged in the crown prince residence. The intruder went to GC's room and GC was very surprised to see her, she was MC!

MC was yelling at GC for lying to her and just using her. MC ripped his letter and told him that she didn't need any compensation and that she would personally asked for the annulment of engagement to the Emperor. Then she hurriedly left. GC tried to chase after her, but couldn't since he couldn't do martial art.

The eunuch came and told him that the girl that just came in was in fact his fiancée, SZ. Then GC remembered. Previously to make GC gave up, MC had told him her entire story from 2nd life. GC remembered that from MC's story, she had been travelling in jianghu using fake name, "SZ". So he surmised that the world that he currently in was MC's 2nd life. He then rushed into the palace. MC had left and informed the Emperor of the annulment. When GC came, ML was standing beside the Emperor. GC asked the Emperor to remove his position as the crown prince. At first, the Emperor strongly refused, but then GC told him that he actually had a terminal illness and had been hiding it. He saw no use of hiding it now, as in this time, his mother (the Empress) had passed away. In MC's 3rd life, she managed to save the Empress due to her request before she faked her death, so until the end of the main story, the Empress was actually still alive. The Emperor called physician and after confirming GC's condition, he allowed GC to step down from his position. GC then asked to be allow to recover at Mount GT (forgot the complete name; anyway, it was where MC's martial art sect located).

GC then prepared to leave, but then he was scared that MC would meet ML and fell in love with him, so GC came into ML's residence and offered to cooperate with ML. GC would gave all of his power to ML but in turn, ML would allow GC to retired with MC. ML agreed. GC was thinking that in the previous life (MC's 3rd life), he had everything except MC, so now, he would gave everything to ML and be with MC. After the matter settled down, GC went to Mount GT.

Meanwhile, MC was in a very bad mood. MC's teacher, QF, had been trying to console her to no avail. QF then heard of a newcomer in the sect. He thought that he should give MC an apprentice to make her happy. So he took the newcomer to MC's place. The newcomer was GC, MC was still upset with him and thought that he had been treating her as a subtitute. GC kept calling MC, "Mo'er", yet MC never told him her real name, so the one that GC called couldn't be her. GC convinced MC that he only loved MC and the "Mo'er" that he called was MC, never anyone else.

Finally, MC was convinced, they married. The story ended with MC being pregnant and they lived together in Mount GT, with the retired Emperor, whose health became better due to the enviroment in the Mount GT.

No mention of who inherited the throne, but I supposed it's ML.

3. The other prince becoming her step-brother in modern times...
The prince who reincarnated in modern time was JY (forgot his complete name). In MC's 2nd life, he felt in love with MC, then when MC and his country was at war, he didn't want to make things difficult for MC, so he directly surrender and opened the gate for MC. In the end, he was killed by his father and deemed as traitor.
In MC's 3rd life, she tried to make JY have a better life. She tried to educate JY's mother to be more of a favoured concubine, though it kinda backlash as the mother became twisted and sex crazed. But in the end, MC managed to make JY the emperor of his country. JY never married though, his successor was his half brother, the child of his mother with her male pet.

Anyway, his epilogue was the typical "arrogant young master & poor innocent Cinderella", so I just keep it short...

Spoiler: Modern Love Story

The story started with JY was working hard as the Emperor. Out of the Emperors of the 4 Countries, he was the most hard working one. It's been 30 years since MC and ML sailed to the sea and never came back. JY suddenly remembered MC's words: There are infinite amount of worlds and dimensions. He thought that if it were true, he would like to be reincarnated in the world without ML, with MC. Then he went to bed and closed his eyes, feeling tired.

He opened his eyes, and realised a very different setting. JY searched into his memory and found out that he was in year 2000, in China. He had reincarnated 1000 years into the future! In this life, he was a young master of a very rich conglomerate (JS). JS had remarried with his secretary who brought in her own daughter. This daughter name was Gong Yi Mo (MC's name).

JY felt elated, as he finally did reincarnated in the world without ML, only MC. But then he remembered, his host really hated his stepmom, but because he didn't have a chance to throw fit at her, he could only abused MC. Last night, when he was high on drug, he had slapped MC.

JY went downstairs into the dining room. Everyone was scared of him. MC was reassuring her mother to leave. Their parents was about to went to a business trip for some times. The mother felt worry, but she knew that JY hated her, so her staying would make it worse for MC. JY saw MC, she was just 12 years old at the moment (JY was 5 years older), he noticed MC was very afraid of him, and he saw her swollen cheek. He tried to act nice to MC but, MC's response was just scared.

JY went to school with MC for the first time. MC was bullied at school because previously all her food money had been taken by JY, so she could only eat cheap veggy menu, also all her new clothes were destroyed by JY, so she could only wear old clothes. The school rich girls and a female teacher mocked her, but JY appeared and had the teacher got fired. He also declared that MC was his sister, so no one allowed to bully her.

JY took MC shopping, bought her many new clothes. MC was still skeptical of him, thinking that it was his new type of abuse; he would pretend to be nice first and then betrayed her. JY tried to convinced her. MC was still doubtful but willing to trust him.

JY went home and instructed some underling to contact lawyer to change his name. His name in this world was sth like JQC (not really remember), but he changed it to JY. He also painted his hair black again (previously it was bleached), and a red mole appeared below the corner of his eyes, making his appearance look like his former life. At the time the parents went back home, JY was already in the good relationship with MC. The father allowed it, as it made JY turned better.

During that time, JY told MC to sleep together in the same bed, and sometimes stole kiss from MC. MC was very innocent, so she only thought that they had a very close siblings relationship.

Sometimes passed, a girl, JY's fiancee, XW, transferred to their school. XW transferred only to meet JY and told him to annul their engagement (rich people) . Previously JY had one side love toward XW, while XW disliked him for being useless young master who only knew to have a fun. JY dismissed her and told her that if she disliked him so much, why didn't she annulled it herself, but whatever, he would talk with his father for the annulment. XW saw how JY was very doting toward MC and felt somewhat of lost.

JY took MC to some kind of exhibition. XW followed them and tripped MC. JY saved MC from the fall but MC bumped into an ink bottle and the ink spilled into some kind of ancient writing. The owner was angry because it was a family heirloom and demand a hefty compensation. JY told everyone that the writing was fake and described in detail how the original writing should be. JY wrote an imitation and everyone was on awe. His writing was much better then the exhibited one and one could easily mistake it for the original.

JY was actually an unfavoured prince and never received any education except from learning dance from his mother, but after he met MC and inherited the throne, he tried hard to be a man worthy of MC.

The man with the fake ended up taking JY's writing as compensation. XW felt jealous and suddenly didn't want to sever the engagement. XW told JY that she would never agree to annulment.

JY went home and his father was very angry at him. XW had called the father, crying that JY wanted to abandon her and sever the engagement. JY gave the father a recording of what XW had said earlier to him. The father felt duped by XW and her family so he agreed to the annulment.

JY graduated from high school and wanted to go overseas. The father didn't agree, but JY told him that he would take MC to supervise him, so the father agreed. JY and MC went to overseas for some years. A few days before MC's 18 bday, they had sex.

Their parents found out. The mother objected because the father was a playboy and she didn't believe that JY wouldn't betray MC. JY convinced her that after they marry, he would gave all of his asset to MC. The father objected because he didn't think that MC who was poor and without father, was worthy of his now very accomplished son. But the father didn't dare to blatantly object because the mother had been working for him for a long time and knew many of his dirty secret.

JY eloped, took MC to some island and gave her a marriage certificate. When they went back, the father pretended to agree, but secretly thought that JY must have married MC because MC was pregnant, so he secretly plot to get rid of MC.

MC was kidnapped by human traffickers who was employed by the father. MC left a hint so JY directly knew who the main culprit was. JY told the father that if MC died, they would all went bankrupt because MC held all the money and in case of her death, the money would be all donated, because by then JY planned to kill himself. The father got scared and revealed it all. JY searched for MC.

MC tried to escaped from the boat. A few days before, she had spilled her blood into her ring and gain a space ability. She had experimented a bit with her new found ability. So now, she was struggling to escape from the ship. JY came to rescue, it turned to a hostage situation. MC fell to the sea, JY dived in, JY heard a shotgun and thought that if MC was shot and died, then he would died together with her.

JY and MC survived. They left the family and live in some island. Three years later, JY and MC went to some mall and everyone was admiring the beautiful couple.

JY swore his love to MC.

 

Thanks for taking the time to do this! I feel a lot better knowing that ML was actually using SML rather than actually being in love with her even though he still killed MC in the end because of her in their past life .

 

MC had gone crazy due to some poison/gu. She was able to suppress it, but it would become active again if her thought was unstable.

On her wedding day, her wedding dress was sabotaged with some other poison. Then one of the villain revealed himself, and said that he was her half biological brother, XQ.

MC immediately recognised XQ, as in her 2nd life, he was actually her loyal subordinate. She realised that he was the one who leaked out the formula for explosion, causing her to be viewed as mass murderer in her 2nd life.
XQ also revealed that MC's mother was in fact, still alive.

At that point, MC was still able to calm herself, but then XQ threw a severed hand to her. MC recognised that hand, it was the Emperor's, the Emperor who just died the other day, they had stolen his corpse. XQ threatened MC that if she wasn't obedient, he would throw the Emperor's corpse to be eaten by dogs. MC thought of how the Emperor was very sick before he died, yet still thinking about her happiness, so she couldn't endure anymore and became mad.

 

So who does MC really love? I read up to 18 and the spoilers. I guess it's good that I didn't get too invested. How is ML an ML if MC marries a different guy in each life. And really that GC is the worst. I wouldn't have minded all the various lives if it was the same people each time, kind of like Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes. However...I hate endings like this where the author pairs her up with each male lead... somewhat reminds me of how much I hated Vampire Knight.
Can anyone recommend something similar but with the ML and MC being equally loyal to each other?
Even though yes, ML was ruthless in the first chapter, I really felt sorry for him reading how much he suffered as a child and even as an adult. A story with similar ML please. I really like the ML! Why did GC get to have a happy ending with MC in second life. What happens to ML then?

 

@Lunastella That's why I said the epilogue was an overkill. It's a bit boring to read too since MC in both epilogue was the typical innocent hot blooded girl. I guess we should just ignore the epilogue, except for the first few chapter about MC and ML married life with their children, the rest are boring, even the daughter's romance was the typical rich arrogant ML & innocent kind heroine (except that the daughter was transmigrated).
And about the MC ended up with different girl, I guess the author held a "butterfly effect" concept, every different decision led to different ending.
For JY, MC had previously stated that in her 2nd life, if she didn't meet GC first, perhaps she would fall in love with him instead. And as for the 3rd life, when JY asked MC, whether she would fall in love with him, had he met with her first? She answered that it was not important, she had chosen ML for this life, and she didn't know what would be in the next life.

Also you could say that the MC that they ended up with wasn't really MC (not of the same soul), because in the ending, ML and MC had cultivate strong enough and ascended to upper world (immortal world).

P.s. I also dislike Vampire Knight's ending.

Although I maybe the minority who ship Kaname, but at least, make her end up with 1 guy. It's like the author couldn't decided which one to choose.

Still. That reply "she chose ML in that life" Well... it doesn't seem fair to ML? Like if she didn't meet him she could have fallen in love with someone else? Then ML loves her deeply but her feelings are not so? Unless ML also finds some other girl when he doesn't have MC. Well I guess it's just not my preference since I prefer those super devoted love through all lifetimes types. It's really too bad because this ML actually has good characterization with a complex personality. And I did like the MC's approach of not wasting this new life on revenge and not hating ML for things he hasn't done.
