its funny you say that cause i was thinking about that as i read the recent chapter the author clearly doesnt know how to write a love interest but then again most of these novels have horrible love interest
a lot changed. he still probably pursues the first girl. but the girl is also important to him. they fought together, And he doesn't want her to fight the war against yimo, knowing she would definitely lose her smile
What happened is that the author didn't plan out his story. He should have made the girl stronger. At this point, she's pretty much beneath his shadow.

i actually like the shift in main love interests. Reincarnator is much more likeable as a romantic interest than the other girl.
