    There are several contents for april fools you know, like
    certain site acquisitioned/ taken down by certain company
    Or xxx press licensing [insert novel here]
    Or due to april fools circumstances, translator Y dropped novel X

    I don't like these fake chapters. One time I read one where they killed off everyone by the end of the chapter. It made me depressed a little bit and when I went back to the real story some of the magic of it was gone. Although I knew it was still the same story and the fake chapter was fake. Not knowing that and reading it thinking it was legit in the back of my mind made it lore. So I couldn't shake that what if sort of question what if it did happen. I didn't enjoy reading the rest of the novel as much as I had been previously. From that it put me off fake chapters.

    actually, i'm alright with april fools that aren't too evil. like qidian suddenly unlocking all the premium chapters and announcing that it will be free forever, only taking it back a day later. that way, people still benefit a bit by reading free chapters.

    You guys know what would be the worst April Fool's joke?

    Releasing a chapter for a long dead series, getting everyone's hopes up, and the text just being "Gotcha" or something.

    I'd be salty for days.
