I think it's a CN novel... but I can't find it on any of the many sites that I go to. The first chapter or two begins with the MC meeting up with his girlfriend, who had called him out to break up with him because he is too poor. However, knowing this, he had prepared beforehand and staged an act to pretend that he was incredibly rich, and that he was originally preparing to surprise his girlfriend. As such, he hired an expensive rental car and for someone to pretend to be his secretary, and had them come pick them up and pretended to go to the airport to head to some foreign country. If anyone recognizes this story/setting, and can tell me the title of the novel, I'd be very thankful~~
Have someone pick you up saying: "Your flight will be in 2h,..." Drive away in a car. When the person whom you want to decieve can't see you, drive home & hide for a couple of weeks.
And how do you hire an expensive rental car if you're poor? Poor people got other priorities than impressing the ladies, i'm sure. that money would have been better spent elsewhere!
easy~ connection~ as long as you have friends you can "borrow" few thing irl that not new thing the problem only lay on how you conduct it and your manner~ although there many rich person who act like beggar on manner or vice versa~ why you think conman is troublesome?
Renting a car for a day isn't all that expensive even if the model itself is expensive. And I think he... got dropped off under a bridge or something. Not quite sure.
Only story I know that has a similiar beginning (forgot the name, starts like this): MC(poor) has sister & rich gf. GF friend convince her that MC is cheating on her (MC & sister in cafe) GF breaks up with MC. MC sad, walks around. MC stands on a bridge, bamm meteor strikes. Sister looks for gf, because she can't find MC. Gf realizes that MC wasn't cheating -> sad. Both hear about meteor, fear MC was hit. ... MC wakes up in the body of a (former) useless (former) young master in another world and the whole prolouge doesn't matter anymore.
Ahha. I finally re-found it. For whoever that was interested and remains interested, it's google translated to Silver Overlord, by the same author as Castle of Black Iron. https://www.uukanshu.com/b/62243/
