Just got the game and was greeted with fps stutters, and its literally unplayable( 60 to ~12, every 2 seconds) Also when i try to connect it takes 2-4 minutes to load in( my friend says it shouldnt take that long) Here are my specs: Intel core i5-5200U 2.2/2.7GHZ Windows 10 6GB ram Resolution 1366x768 Nvidia geforce GTX 950M What i tried: - putting eveything on low or off setting - setting an fps limit to 30,45,60 - Disabling uplay overlay - updated my nvidia driver In the nvidia control panel, i set the power management to maximum preformance My other friend has a laptop that is worse than mine but managed to play the game normally So i think somethint is wrong with my computer The worst part is, i cant refund the game ;-; and i just paid for nothing apparently( just a uni student with no job so money is precious) I was looking forward to play with my friend but when i got it i was surged with disappointment I am posting here because I have a positive experience here from before, people really helped me so my hopes are high So if anyone has any solutions it would really make my day Thanks anyways for reading my post
if it stalls every 2 seconds, that means you're out of memory either graphic card or ram you can borrow a dim to check it out. Most games now need 8gb lower resolution to 1280x720 and kill every process you can before you start the game. btw, out of the spec the game throws in, you're out of your league they expect gtx970, and you have 950... Im not even sure about your video card memory and your 6gb is minimal requirement, thats not good enough in most cases. I would shoot for 12 gb at that point. Btw, laptop hardware are a bit worse than desktop, so imo, you should not try to play this game in your current laptop.
i highly doubt the ram is the problem, 6Gb and it doesnt even use them all Lowering resolution didnt do anything Exited other processes and the game still lagged I think my computer should run it, because my pc runs GTA 5, Dishonored 2, Rainbow six siege, Shadow of War at 60fps with low-medium settings( RAM was never a problem) Let me elaborate what also happens, no matter how low i limit my fps, it has to drop, even if i put it at 25, it lags for some reason I can put it at 60 then lags to 12,20,30
Whats your video card memory? 2GB? In any case, you have to troubleshoot this. Throughout my experiences, if you lag every 2 seconds, there are a couple of reasons, if the screen stutters it might be memory related. If it looks like you jump through the fields, it might be internet related. Check your ping and wifi.
Whatever min spec they put out, you need to increase it by 20% of requirements, because you're using a laptop. Your CPU and your video card will be throttled coz it will heat up pretty fast. Can'[t help you much without further testing. IMO, you should try the memory upgrade, try to lend one of your friends. Btw, don't use 2 different dimm sizes. Coz sometimes 2 memory cards work together in sync for some certain graphic applications, they need to be in the same frequency, latency and size.
ya i understand, i even bought a cooling pad and it helped me out But thanks for the suggestion, if i could i should ask my friend to try it out( i can afford to buy some ram if it would help my problem)
your PC especs are similar to mine (will post accurately when i get home) and It runs quite well for my standards. Just guessing, check graffic special options for: shadows, particles, wheater, object and npc view distance (even with quite low distance you can be able to see at distances that would be recommended to use scopes). Anyway could you run the game and check Windows Task Manager and check what resource is at its peak?
I lowered almost all settings to low I checked with task manager, when I limit the fps to 35, cpu flutucutes between 30-90% while GPU around 60% Memory about 80% Man, hopefully you can help, I really want to play this with my friend ;-;

I think I'm still not allowed to post links and other stuff https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/major-issue-concerning-fps-limiter-on-unreal-engine-games.391484/ its old from 2014. Someone comments that there is an issue with bad implementation of unreal engine on some games ussing dx10 and above and might work disabbling it (video options)
I just want to say thanks for going through all this trouble for a total stranger I remeber turning on the frame limit and experimenting with different frame limits but it didnt work I tried removing the limit but it didnt fix the problem I saw the thread u linked, but it got me a bit confused, how do I disable the dx10?
I used your settings but the stuttering is still there at frame limit 25 I don't know what to do anymore ;-;
even disabling dx12 in video options? what about this other one? http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3475090/stuttering-division.html Spoiler: photonboy photonboyJul 22, 2017, 2:29 AM Yeah, other people report the same issue with THE DIVISION. Some points: 1. Enable Chromatic Aberation? (Don't ask me but someone swears that fixed their FPS drop issue. And yes, that's enabled, not disabled and no doesn't make sense to me. 2. drop settings down really low. If stutter gone, raise them until you get the issue again then turn things on and off to see if it's one setting or just overall how taxing it is. 3. CPU? Some people have tried to: a) pause game b) tab out c) Task Manager-> Details d) right-click the game EXE and then disable Cores 5 and 7 which are actually the hyperthreads (that leaves them free for Windows in case something demanding pops up... it's supposedly helped some people). BTW, for the first core, it's reported as: CORE 0 - typical core usage CORE 1 - hyperthreaded code 4) Adaptive VSYNC: NCP-> manage 3d settings-> ... add game-> (setting)-> SAVE This won't prevent the drops but it can reduce the effect of dropping below the target (i.e. 60FPS on 60Hz monitor) if VSYNC is on. It auto disables VSYNC to prevent adding more stuttering. That's again a SEPARATE stutter issue but using this has helped me a lot in some of the Assassin's Creed games where I'm stable then suddenly the FPS drops and it gets really SLUGGISH for a second or more. Instead with this feature I just get screen tearing for the time VSYNC is OFF. OTHER: More info online, but I don't own the game so that's the best I can do. OTHER: At some point if you don't have one consider getting a GSYNC monitor. I'm waiting for prices to drop as a 2560x1440 TN panel, 144Hz, is $500USD and the ones I like are $750USD and $1300USD (3440x1440) plus at this point I'm going to wait for HDR.
Sorry, I accidentaly skipped reading this one. You should be able to disable Dx12 effects under video options (where you change resolution and that stuff) . It shows the last option in that category for me. By all the comments/compaints I'm reading in forums and reddits it seems to be a problem related to some i5 and i7 CPUs series. This is just another guessing; here and there people say that their GPUs drivers are updated but as the consensus is that it is related to the CPU no one mentions anything about updating their BIOS. Ed: certain bug support on UE4 forums track a performance problem to certain ASUS sound software slowing down other programs (shutting down processes in task manager) Ed2: some ppl agree to changing affinity (not priority) of process https://imgur.com/gallery/oEhJe
I didn't think of the Bios, I will make sure to try that I noticed that the sound glitches too I tried turning on adaptive vsync, didn't work I will try to see if the bios update works out for me
