Except that socialist and to some extent communist are becoming a badge of honour for some perverse reason...

When you tell someone who has no clue about web or light novels that you read CN novels, they'll be thinking you are reading a novel in chinese. Normies don't know the differences in styles since they've never read one, so for them there are no different styles, it is simply a novel.

Originally communism is a good thing, the problem is that it is too good, communism is an ideal world but as we all know ideal things rarely work out. In a world where everyone has no desire for power and merely want to share with eachother, all it requires is one selfish person accepting but never giving to overturn it, that is how communism became what it is today, a corrupt regime that has nothing to do with what it originally meant.

To me that perfect world sounds like a dystopia, literally everyone is like a brick, no desire or differing personality...

Socialism in general is very accepted in intellectual circles in the US due to idealism and the rejection of places like the Soviet Union, PRC, and North Korea being "True Communism." Basically, the Red Scare failed miserably and actually strengthened communist/socialist sentiment in the US.

Then we have issues like college being hugely overpriced and loans with the socialists promising free college. Free stuff always sounds great until you realize the catch behind it of horribly high taxes.

I played a learning game in school once, 4 out of 30 kids were commies and my teacher gave the class 15 minutes to question and find the commies. I got the most votes even though I wasn’t and the out of the 4 commies only 2 were found. For the rest of the semester whenever my teacher would ask a question someone would scream communism or bewere the commies. I don’t think we got the point of the activity.

But a writer, huh... Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you have published stories. Where? Wattpad? Or is it a physical book? What do you write about?
I understand, but be careful. Think if everything you speak about is truly necessary since as a writer you have a public image. Your readers might have a certain profile for liking your stories, but you never know what kind of people will come across them.
    Thanks, I guess~
If you have intolerant people near you, all the more reason to choose what you tell them more wisely.

Indeed, you have to watch out for those vulgar movements of Elvis the Pelvis. Such hip gyrations have obviously led to the juvenile delinquency of today and an overall decline of society. It is all due to the unchecked propagation of unwholesome values via the medium of rock and roll. (Just in case it is unclear... I typed all this for the purpose of satire and mean to highlight a bit of sarcasm.)

    That's a nice teacher.

So now you know what you must not do. If you want to avoid trouble, be more careful with what you let other people know about you. For better or worse, that's how society works.

You can be yourself as much as you want, but if you choose to wear expensive clothing and play with your iPhone 10 in plain sight while knowing you're in a dangerous district, you better know what you're doing.

Which is one of the reasons it failed. It doesn't account for people having different desires and personalities.
For the original communistic ideal to be successful, everyone would need to have personalities and desires fitting into the society. All societies are based around removing those harmful to it, which is why there are authorities to decide who is harmful and who isn't. An ideal communistic world lack these authorities.

I think at one point, people said that Shakespeare corrupted the youth in a similar fashion. Nowadays we want our teenagers to perform these plays at schools. Maybe one day we'll see performances like 'Backdoor slut 11' being played out at schools. :blobhighfive:

I really want to know the point of the activity because I can't think of any good reason for it, and it should have been discussed at the end otherwise it is a pointless activity and a bad teacher.

Well, I'm also a Brazilian and quite active in the web novels communities around here(Since I'm translate a few novels.). Have you tried asking them why are being called that? If the answer is just more insults, you should just keep away from them.
You should not feed feed trolls.

Also... You're an author? What's the name of your story? I'll go take a look.

Exactly what views are you talking about?

I tend to avoid people who would call someone a communist for reading Chinese books, so that hasn't been an issue for me.

Well, one could argue that amateur performances of such things already occur in some schools... but, yeah... there are some student activities in schools that may have become more commonplace or some attitudes that have changed to become more brazen with actions that really don't need to be in an educational environment. However, I don't think its due to something like watching rock and roll or other music videos but lack of individual responsibility on the part of said students, their parents, and school administrators to properly enforce rules and remove any disruptions to the educational process, such as students that know they can get away with far too much or students that don't care and persist to disrupt others.

As far as reading translated novels go... I don't care much about the underlying politics that may occur. I'm usually reading to see the growth of a character as it may relate to cultivation, or some type of game element related abilities. As far as where the stories originate from, that just changes the flavor of said story in coordination with the translators skills and how they convey the original words and intent of the author. I'm not all that concerned with someone trying to apply a label for what fiction I read. For me to truly care about what someone says about me on some personal level, I have to care about them in the first place. And seriously trying to throw an insult doesn't help me care and if I cared at all, it doesn't help me to continue caring. Regardless of it being boring, humorous, sad, or controversial... I'll read what I enjoy, I recommend others do the same. :)
