Sorry it took a while (for those still interested anyway... hehe!). Spoiler 191 * XTH was found limping. When XTH asked why A-Heng was running around in this weather, A-Heng replied "to look for you", since XTH had saved A-Heng twice, A-Heng felt it was her (A-Heng) turn to repay XTH. * XTH walked almost all the way to the north gate of the capital holding tightly onto A-Heng's hand, until he (XTH) finally collapsed. A-Heng gave him (XTH) the pain relieving spray and Ban Zou carried (XTH) until they (Ban Zou, XTH and A-Heng) were close enough to the north gate and Ban Zou placed XTH down and became XTH's crutch (because of XTH pride and prestige). * Wang Zhuo had a carriage ready, per A-Heng's instruction. As soon as they (Ban Zou, XTH and A-Heng) arrived at Hundred Herb Hall, A-Heng explained that she (A-Heng) might need to sedate XTH for which XTH said he (XTH) trusts A-Heng. XTH had a scare when A-Heng inserted the needle for the IVF on his (XTH) arm before he (XTH) drifted into unconsciousness. 192 * A-Heng then brought XTH to her (A-Heng) pharmacy space and proceeded to operate on XTH. * XTH woke up feeling like he (XTH) had a weird dream and found out that A-Heng was serving warm tea outside of the Hundred Herb Hall. * HQ explained that doing this is an incentive for people to help with the authorities as the authorities can only do so much plus A-Heng promised future services from Hundred Herb Hall. * XTH realized that while A-Heng can be bold and have bizarre ideas, A-Heng does have a much broader and sensible perspective. * While people are praising XTH and A-Heng, XTH told the people to show their gratitude to Hundred Herb Hall in the future. * A-Heng then proposed the idea of a chain Hundred Herb Halls to XTH, where A-Heng personally trains people so it can reach to more people in the future than just the capital. [A-Heng, the money-grubbing businesswoman. Hehe!] * A-Heng found out from XTH that BNS has been sent to a temple outside the capital and that XTH, while not interested in the imperial throne, has to fight to stay out of the in-fighting and stay alive and has to put spies to other princes' allies and families. * XTH offers a brief background about his (XTH) birth mother: - Birth mother (BM) died on a snowy day and was said to have been punished by the former emperor. [So it was XTH's birth mother's death anniversary and some of the details can be confusing on MTL.] - XTH still recall's BM's appearance and heard later that the former emperor had thrown BM out of the imperial palace then dumped BM's dead body into a small land temple in the north of the city - Afterward, ICY secretly left the palace and buried BM in that field and wrote down the location so XTH can visit the place as he (XTH) got older, bring stuff BM likes. - XTH added that there'll be no more memorials to go to, courtesy of the avalance. [Poor XTH.] * While talking, somebody fainted and A-Heng excused herself to check it out. WC accompanied A-Heng and A-Heng heard the pageboy say that if somebody can save his (pageboy) young master, the Feng family will reward them. 193 * After confirming that Feng family the pageboy was talking to was FJY's, A-Heng realized that the young master was a member of the Chen family. * The pageboy didn't believe that A-Heng was the legitimate daugter and even thought that A-Heng was CY at first, to which the pageboy got mocked over. A-Heng didn't fight it over with the pageboy and advised people to bring the young master into the Hundred Herb Hall. * HQ didn't like that A-Heng's decision but WC reminded HQ that it wouldn't be good for Hundred Herb Hall's reputation if somebody died in front of the building. * XTH had to leave to make an appearance for the emperor and ICY and told A-Heng to await for rewards. * Because the number of people kept coming in, A-Heng told WC to press CY to deliver the money by saying that CY needs to get abortion soon before it'll be too late. * When the young master woke up, A-Heng and the pageboy got into an argument over the payment as the pageboy didn't want to pay as A-Heng and the young master are family, while A-Heng said she doesn't really care as the young master is from the Chen family and A-Heng doesn't really like the Chen family. The young master ordered the pageboy to pay and confirmed that that the young master is Chen Qing (CQ), the oldest grandchild of the Chen family. * CQ seems more rational than the Chen's as CQ doesn't believe FJY should have promoted Chen-shi as the main wife. So, A-Heng corrected CQ's way of addressing FJY as uncle as now Chen-shi is demoted to a concubine. * FJY tried to lecture A-Heng, but A-Heng reminded FJY that since Chen-shi is no longer the main wife, CQ is not A-Heng's cousin. * CQ had to call FJY "master" now instead of "uncle" and wondered if A-Heng has bullied CY. 194 * CQ has been in love with CY since childhood and even pleaded to marry CY but was rejected by Chen-shi. * FJY congratulated A-Heng for setting up the shed and tried to pass it off as A-Heng doing this to boost the Feng family and A-Heng corrected FJY by saying that the money used was the XTM's and in no way related to the Feng family, rendering FJY speechless and subsequently kicking FJY and CQ out. * CQ was shocked with A-Heng's blunt and rude demeanor and could only leave with FJY. * Wang Lin (WL) told A-Heng that Hundred Herb Hall is running out of space to accommodate people, A-Heng quickly tasked HQ to find WC with CY's money, while WL was assigned to use some of the money to rent out the place next door. A-Heng reassured WL's worries about the expenses needed to fix people's destroyed houses. * Yi Lin (YL) arrived with WC and brought the money and YL was instructed to wait with CY at Tong Sheng Pavilion. * A-Heng had Qing Yu (QY) allocated the money for post-disaster appropriation, like manpower and materials. A-Heng then left for Tong Sheng. * A-Heng then brought CY to the medical room where A-Heng gave CY abortion choices, either medically (through pills) or induced (surgical abortion). After learning the difference between the two, CY had A-Heng pick which one's faster, and just before CY went unconscious A-Heng said CY will be back to give A-Heng more money. 195 * The first time CY woke up, A-Heng had to explain the pain in CY's stomach. The next time CY woke up, A-Heng was removing the IV equipment and CY found out that the baby was gone. CY left with Yi Lin's assistance. * When A-Heng narrated to HQ what happened to XTH's birth other (BM), HQ remembered that BM was brough in tfrom the south by the former emperor and the former empress disliked BM that BM was given to the current emperor. [MTL was confusing here, so please wait for official translation.] * Since A-Heng was barred by HQ to go to the Hundred Herb Hall that day, A-Heng left for the next day and Qing Yu (QY) reported what had been done so far for the post-disaster relief with the money, material and manpower provided. * In the castle, Jing Zhao Yin reported to the emperor the efforts done by the Hundred Herb Hall in the name of the royal palace. Right PM Fung (FTY's father) donated 50,000 as well as General Pingnan, while other donations ranged from 5,000-50,000 as well as food distribution. FJY also donated 50,000. * FJY also reported that due to the snowstorm crisis, the prices of the rice went up and volunteered to go up north. [To rack up cookie points points. Ptui!] * FJY returned to the manor and had CY brought over. Seeing a palce CY brought up both pity and disappointment in FJY before telling CY that FJY has to leave for the north and needs the "one million" CY received from the Chen family. 196 * CY admitted that the money is gone, reasoning that the Chen family business has not been going well recently. FJY got angry as CY had broken the promise to give the money to FJY. * FJY was really going to give the money to the 3rd prince in the hopes of elevating CY's status in the 3rd prince's eyes. * CY left FJY's courtyard feeling disgusted and angered but knew that since her value is lowered in FJY's eyes CY needed to do something about her lost virtue. Yi Lin (YL) told CY that young master Chen Qing (CQ) had requested to see CY. CY told a woe-begone tale to CQ how CY is being bullied by A-Heng and felt unloved within the Feng family. * FJY told the old matriarch of the plans to go north and asked for one million. 197 * The old matriarch knew that the money was going to the 3rd prince and reminded FJY that CY is losing her value that the 3rd prince would certainly not take anymore. FJY assured the old matriarch that he (FJY) has found a way to bring back CY's virtue back, as FJY still believes that CY has the aspect of the phoenix. However, the old matriarch couldn't produce the money as 1) Chen-shi nearly bled the Feng public funds dry and the old matriarch only found out about it after Chen-shi's death, and 2) the Chen family is not giving any more financial aid to the Feng family. * The old matriarch advised FJY to borrow money from A-Heng. * FJY balked before realizing that the 3rd prince was also going to the north as well. A bodyguard reported that the medicine needed for CY couldn't be found, reinforcing FJY's decision to go to Tong Sheng. 198 * CY did go to A-Heng to get her virtue back. * A-Heng asked for 5 million as payment. When CY asked why so much, A-Heng said, the first part is for the operation while the second part would be the one-month checkup as A-Heng said the body needs to recover between those period. * CY left Tong Sheng and told Yi Lin (YL) to go to 3rd Uncle Chen and asked for 2 million for now and then 3 million a month from now. YL left immediately. [I couldn't quite get what the reasoning CY had YL tell 3rd Uncle Chen for the money.] * Early that morning, Chen's bodyguard delivered the money and CY didn't even wait until bright daylight to deliver it to Tong Sheng. * Meanwhile, A-Heng was instructing WC to deliver stuff to Rui'er, check on the girls that A-Heng had asked to be trained and bring Qing Yu along. WC reported FJY was going north. HQ then brought CY in, while WC leaves and A-Heng was pondering on FJY's true purpose on going north. 199 * FJY arrived just as CY dropped the money off. Luckily FJY encountered Yao-shi before CY could be discovered and FJY and Yao-shi had a confrontation before A-Heng walked in and asking FJY the purpose of coming to Tong Sheng. * FJY told A-Heng that he (FJY) needed to borrow money. A-Heng asked how much money FJY needs per her (A-Heng) rights to be FJY's creditor. When FJY said one million, A-Heng said that FJY needs to put something up as collateral to ensure that FJY will pay the money. * FJY asked what he can use for collateral and A-Heng said the deed to the Feng manor. 200 * FJY rejected it at first, but when A-Heng reminded FJY that the money wasn't A-Heng's but XTM's and that FJY really needed that money, FJY relented and left to get the deed to the manor. * A-Heng got praised by WC for swindling money from both father and daughter and A-Heng did say that although there was a land rewarded to A-Heng as well as the jade mine from the 3rd, A-Heng needed money. WC did remind A-Heng that the jade mine is a very lucrative mine so A-Heng won't worrying too much about the money, which made A-Heng stare blankly at WC. * FJY returned with the deed and A-Heng gave the money and FJY left afterward. * A-Heng was then called to the old matriarch's courtyard. * While there, there was the usual sniping and snide remarks. Then the Feng family found out that FJY was leaving the next day for the north. 201 * FJY said he (FJY) will be returning before the new year, asking the old matriarch to take care of Chen Qing (CQ) as CQ will be taking the exams. * The old matriarch said that since A-Heng had said that the old matriarch needed to rest, the old matriarch decided to leave the management of the Feng manor to A-Heng as A-Heng will be getting married soon and needs to learn household management, stunning everyone. A-Heng rejected the offer by saying that A-Heng will make sure that the old matriarch will stay healthy and live for a long time. * CY, having decided to retain her Bodhisattva demeanor once more, announced that CY will learn from A-Heng in the future, while FD worried that CY had collaborated with A-Heng. Everyone was summarily dismissed. * In Han-shi's courtyard, FD told Han-shi to get FJY over to ensure that Han-shi will get pregnant and secure the position of the main wife by producing another male heir. Han-shi then had the servant prepare all of FJY's favorite dish. * A-Heng had WC deliver medicine to XTH, while worrying about FJY's visit to the north as well as how to get a message to XTM. 202 * FJY spent the night at Han-shi's courtyard, worrying Jin Zhen (JZ). Man Xi (MX) asked JZ if A-Heng needed to know this, which JZ rejected. * WC returned to Tong Sheng asking when they (A-Heng, WC and HQ) will go to the military camp. A-Heng replied not yet as A-Heng needs to be there for FJY's departure and was relieved when WC said that XTH is recovering well. * The next day, the Feng family lined up to say goodbye to FJY, with Han-shi clinging to FJY. FJY instructed Chen Qing (CQ) to do well in the exams, An-shi to watch over the old matriarch, but said nothing to A-Heng. * FD scoffed at JZ, who started crying, while A-Heng reminded FD of the filial rules, that despite JZ being a newer concubine, FD still needs to respect JZ and then reprimanded Han-shi for not disciplining FD well, emphasizing A-Heng's status while doing so. FD, still undeterred, pointing out to A-Heng to give the extravagant carriage A-Heng owns, while A-Heng reminded FD that the carriage was given by the imperial palace and not something to be gifted, plus FJY's travel was an official business and not a gala. * FJY played mediator then got on the carriage. As the carriage was about to leave, someone on a horse came. 203 * The 3rd prince inquired about CY's health, FD asked when CY was sick and An-shi reprimanded FD, while saying the 3rd prince was persoally escorting FJY to the north gate, which prompted the Feng family to follow. * A-Heng met Wang Zhuo (WZ) again and FD overheard A-Heng and WZ's conversation about XTH's injuries. * FD sidled up to the CY to tell the news before CY (reverting back to her Bodhisattva personality) announced that CY was giving FD an earring. * A-Heng saw this and whispered to FR to stay far away from FD. XR ponders how much bossy and unmanageable FD has become lately and told A-Heng about FJY's stay at Han-shi. A-Heng just told XR to observe Han-shi. * FD suddenly asked CY if CY heard about XTH's injuries, which alarmed CY, and adding more provocating words about how A-Heng took care of XTH alone while already having XTM. Only Yi Lin's (YL) reminder kept CY's temper in-check and CY retorted back to FD to watch Han-shi instead. 204 * FD got pissed at Han-shi for flirting with Chen Qing (CQ) and blamed CQ for it. * While walking home, the Feng family passed by Hundred Herb Hall and the man who A-Heng revived [Let's call him RM for revived man. Ch 146.] XR recognized RM and RM thanked A-Heng for saving his (RM) life while saying that he (RM) bought medicine for his (RM) sick wife. RM suddenly froze and A-Heng realized that RM's gaze stayed on the glaring FD, making A-Heng highly suspicious. A-Heng then had HQ escort RM home, while inviting FD into the Hundred Herb Hall saying that if it wasn't for RM's case, Hundred Herb Hall's reputation wouldn't have increased. * FD retorted that A-Heng should worry more about XTM as a lot can happen in 2 to 3 years before marriage. A-Heng remarked that whatever A-Heng owns, FD can never hope to get as it was XTM himself who gifted all those things to A-Heng. FD was left speechless before becoming horror-stricken when a familiar voice asked of who dares think that XTM's heart is fickle. 205 [My apologies for the length as this is one sweet chapter! And my heart just went 'kyuuuuuuuun' with these two together. And because it's long, I'll put it under 'spoiler' tag.] Spoiler * FD shivered in fear. * A-Heng walked up to XTM and her (A-Heng) hand was immediately held by XTM. XTM suggested that A-Heng should have used the whip, scaring FD even more. Because of the scene it was creating, A-Heng instructed to bring An-shi back to the manor, while A-Heng helped XTM back to the carriage. * Han-shi reprimanded FD for being rash, while FD felt angry that XTM still dotes on A-Heng even if XTM knows that FD loves him (XTM). [Seriously.] FD only hopes that Han-shi will be pregnant with a male heir so FD becomes the legitimate daugther so FD can have a chance with XTM. [Oh. Mi. God.] * Meanwhile, in the carriage: [I've taken the liberty to shorten the conversation, so my apologies for the inaccuracy.] A-Heng: It's not good for men to beat up women. XTM: I was only playing along. A-Heng: Right. Let's not forget about Chen-shi. XTM: When did you become sensible? A-Heng: *snorts* I've always been sensible! When have I ever been unreasonable. XTM: *whine* You're now being unreasonable. And here I was thinking of bringing my Heng-Heng to the military camp. A-Heng: *rolls eyes* I was trying to teach you to be a bit more gentlemanly. *XTM confused* A-Heng: What are you doing back in the capital anyway? XTM: I heard that FJY left for the north. I wasn't supposed to leave the military camp but I want to see my Heng-Heng. [Gah!!!] A-Heng: When did you learn to talk like that? *smiles then frowns a little* How did you fare during the snowstorm? XTM: I'm fine. *pauses* I heard you rescued 7th Brother (XTH) from an avalanche. *pauses again* I'm a man and can take care of myself, you know, unlike my Heng-Heng, who is a woman and needs help. [XTM, you'll be sleeping with the fishies if you keep that up.] A-Heng: *rolls eyes* You're in a wheelchair, XTM, so of course I worry. *pauses* I can cure your legs. I just don't know the extent of the damage. XTM: *smiles* I trust you, *frowns* but you might need to do it sooner. A-Heng: *stunned* Why? XTM: 3rd prince has hidden 30,000 soldiers and counting in the north, as 7th brother has found out. * When A-Heng heard this, A-Heng realized that FJY's decision to go north had something to do with the 3rd prince. A-Heng: XTM, you need to stay at Tong Sheng for a week. * XTM dropped A-Heng off at Tong Sheng and talked some more in the carriage. XTM: I'll be here tomorrow. Heng-Heng, you better get ready to go to the military camp soon. Show me more of your shooting skills. * A-Heng smiled so widely that XTM laughed at A-Heng's enthusiasm. XTM: You know, girls at this time would be more interested in poetry, painting and embroidery, which you don't have any interest in. But I like that you like fighting more, Heng-Heng. A-Heng: *smiles* XTM, I'll embroider you a purse one day, just don't expect it to be good as I'm more used to sewing people's flesh more than fabrics. XTM: I'm glad to be married to a special woman. A-Heng: *laughs* Not married yet. XTM: *smiles* We'll be married sooner or later. *pauses* When you left, Bai Ze and I were ambushed by assassins from Qianzhou. I hope you can create a team to counter these special forces from Qianzhou. A-Heng: *grim smile* I promise. * A-Heng then exited out of the carriage and entered Tong Sheng. * HQ admitted that the revived man (RM) [Ch. 146) knew of FD and that it was FD who recommended RM buy some medicine from Hundred Herb Hall. RM had wanted to tell A-Heng, but FD apparently threated RM and RM's family. A-Heng then had HQ move RM and family to Hundred Herb Hall to be watched over. * WC and HQ commented about how vicious the Feng family are, old or young, and lamented how badly treated A-Heng was. * A-Heng was more annoyed with FJY's collaboration with the 3rd prince and possibly Qianzhou and promise that if FJY did, A-Heng would tear FJY apart. 206 * The old matriarch's courtyard was once again full with people. * When A-Heng arrived, FD immediately launched into an attack about how A-Heng should care more for Feng family's reputation and not be alone with a man in a carriage. A-Heng merely said nobody has dared to gossip about XTM and A-Heng. FD was still undeterred but sufficiently cowed when A-Heng slyly said that FD must not have really repented while being exiled on the outskirts as FD probably has met people in that place that FD must worry about after the snowstorm. A-Heng then added that FD will be 11 soon and A-Heng will remember all the good things about FD, scaring Han-shi as well. FD tried to fight A-Heng off only to be scolded and the old matriarch dismissed everyone. * A-Heng helped with the old matriarch's waist pain before going back to Tong Sheng and instructed WC that Tong Sheng will be closed down for 7 days and no one was allowed in or out. * Han-shi and FD invited a entertainment troupe while the old matriarch had the whole house living simply [something about Buddhist belief for more blessing and FJY's safe travel. * Jin Zhen (JZ) started worrying about her (JZ) precarious situation and checked out the private play in Han-shi's courtyard. So, she (JZ) sneaked in with Man Xi, only to be discovered. 207 * Han-shi discovered Jin Zhen (JZ) sneaking into the courtyard. Man Xi (MX) reasoned that they (JZ and MX) were merely passing by. After saying insulting words, Han-shi then invited JZ to watch the play. JZ tried to reject, but with FD there asking JZ to pour FD some tea, JZ was stuck. FD intentionally dropped the hot tea JZ made then accused JZ of scalding her, which MX pointed out that the cup was closer to FD than JZ. To avoid MX from getting punished harshly, JZ reprimanded MX. * Han-shi then had JZ entertain everyone, even when JZ said she (JZ) has no talent whatsoever, but Han-shi still made JZ stand at the edge of the stage, risking JZ from falling over. * A-Heng had prepped the pharmacy space for XTM's operation. Though A-Heng concluded that XTM has comminuted fracture, A-Heng won't know the extent of XTM's damage until A-Heng can perform X-ray. A-Heng was also burning with hate for Qianzhou for daring to hurt XTM. 208 * When A-Heng came out of her space, WC announced Bu Bai Ping's death at the cold palace. A-Heng instructed WC to get ahold of the letter FJY will send to the Feng manor. * Man Xi (MX) was suddenly brought in and begged A-Heng to save Jin Zhen (JZ), which A-Heng did. * JZ and MX temperorarily stayed at Tong Sheng before being told that Tong Sheng will be closed off for 7 days and left the next day. * XTM arrived and Tong Sheng was immediately closed. As soon as XTM was anesthesized, A-Heng then moved XTM to the pharmacy space. * For 3 days, nobody was allowed to get closer to the medicine room. * Around this time, the old matriarch only saw Qing Shuang (QS), who never told the old matriarch the reason why Tong Sheng is being closed. Meanwhile, Han-shi decided to get the old matriarch to her (Han-shi) courtyard to be entertained some time to appease the old matriarch. * On the fourth day, FD handed a medicine soup for pregnancy [I think?] while Han-shi was getting worried as she (Han-shi) was still showing no signs of pregnancy. FD then suggested to get a doctor. When the doctor visited, Han-shi was now doubly worried when she (Han-shi) found out that she's (Han-shi) going to have difficulty conceiving. * FD found out about Tong Sheng closing off for seven days but BFR being allowed in but BFR left soon and XTH entering after, but supposedly haven't left yet. FD found this to be a great opportunity to cause trouble. [My God! I want to snap this girl's neck broken!] 209 * FD immediately reported to CY that XTH is over at Tong Sheng Pavilion, which is currently locking its doors. CY was angry but didn't react the way FD expected, even though FD continued provoking CY. CY said that FD needs to tell the old matriarch of what FD had said and FD talked CY to side with her (FD). Yi Lin (YL) reminded CY to not get dragged along by FD's schemes but CY said that though she (CY) is angry at A-Heng, CY knows A-Heng won't easily fall like that, but CY was more irritated with FD. * The next day, FD reported to the old matriarch that A-Heng has been locked up in the Tong Sheng Pavilion with XTH, since A-Heng has not visited the old matriarch for days now, making it sound like A-Heng and XTH have an illicit affair. FD tried to say that even CY knows, which CY denied knowledge to. 210 * FD was stunned by CY's denial but kept on spouting about A-Heng cheating on XTM. The old matriarch reprimanded FD and CY reminded FD how much the emperor trusted A-Heng. FD insisted that it would reflect badly on the Feng family if people found out that XTH has stayed over at Tong Sheng. [Has FD forgotten that Yao-shi is still staying at Tong Sheng? Really?] * The old matriarch sent servants to confirm FD's words but the servants said they still can't get in and dismissed everyone. The old matriarch then found out what happened to JZ at Han-shi's courtyard. * Since, FD couldn't get the old matriarch to side with her (FD), FD is going to leave the manor. 211 * Pei'er, FD's servant, reminded FD of the punishment of leaving the manor without permission, but FD said, they'll (FD and Pei-er) be sneaking out disguised as one of the entertainment troupe. Because of this, FD found out that Han-shi was alone with the leader of the troupe unsupervised but ignored this. * As soon as FD is out of the manor, FD immediately went to XTM's palace. Since FD wasn't allowed entrance, FD started calling for Zhou-mama, XTM's nursemaid. FD immediately told Zhou-mama that FD needs to speak with XTM. * Zhou-mama then took a carriage and brought FD along. 212 * He Zhong (HZ), the Feng manor's steward, found out that FD had left the manor and got reprimanded for it before Zhou-mama asked to talk to the old matriarch. FD stayed behind and was happy when FD noticed Tong Sheng is still closed. * The old matriarch anxiously asked Zhou-mama if A-Heng had done something that displeased XTM, which Zhou-mama said no. [Really old bat? Really?] Zhou-mama was about to add something when CY called the old matriarch over and told the old matriarch how FD had sneaked out of the manor disguised as one of the entertainment troupe and how CY tried to stop FD. * When FD arrived, the old matriarch immediately tried to punish FD, but she (FD) maintained that FD was only doing this because she (FD) was worried about A-Heng. * The old matriarch then asked Zhou-mama what had happened and Zhou-mama told the old matriarch what FD did. FD finally blurted out that XTH has been staying at Tong Sheng and hasn't come out. WC wanted to tail QS but A-Heng reminded WC of her (WC) tasks, so A-Heng had WC call HQ. While HQ guarded A-Heng, she (A-Heng) wonders who QS works for. * The next day, A-Heng told the old matriarch that she (A-Heng) will be visiting the palace. * Because the old matriarch was worried, she (matriarch) had Xiang Rong go ask for XTH's help. CY tried to volunteer but was shot down by the old matriarch. * XR went to XTH's palace and waited until XTH arrived. 217 * XR quickly explained to XTH about the old matriarch sending XR on an errand to find out about A-Heng. [Wow...] The discipline tutors snorted and told FD that XTM will never look at FD. FD tried to rush the tutors, but one of them took out a whip and whipped FD without destroying the clothes. * When evening arrived, the old matriarch decided to send Zhao-mama to the palace and saw XR being escorted by XTH and another old woman, assisted by servants, walking towards them. 218 * It was the Bu matriarch, who greeted XTH and the Feng before leaving. * XR greeted the Feng matriarch (FM), then XTH brought them (FM and XR) to the entrance of the palace. * A-Heng wheeled XTM and A-Heng told FM that the emperor didn't punish A-Heng too heavily and A-Heng suggested they have dinner at a restaurant. The 3rd prince then commented about how the 3rd prince once warned XTM about going north. * A-Heng did admit that the emperor is disappointed and wondered if the gifted hairpin should be returned. A-Heng noticed how Qing Shuang (QS) eyed the box intensely. 219 * XTM told A-Heng to keep the hairpin and A-Heng placed the box inside the sleeve of the cloak, before deciding to take off the cloak and hand it to Qing Shuang (QS). * As everyone ate, A-Heng commented on how nice QS's jade earrings look and how the jade looks exactly like elder brother's jade pendant. QS was flustered and said QS doesn't know the eldest prince. XTM remarked that A-Heng only mentioned 'eldest brother' and not 'eldest prince', horrifying QS into kowtowing before A-Heng. A-Heng assured QS it was just a joke. * The meal ended. The 3rd prince went ahead. XTH wheeled XTM out while HQ followed, leaving A-Heng and QS behind. * As they got into the carriage, A-Heng suddenly yelled that the box with the golden phoenix hairpin is gone. QS was internally panicked of being accused of thievery and of the 3rd prince and immediately knelt in front of A-Heng. * The 3rd prince advised everyone to go home and search another day. A-Heng assured the 3rd prince that the hairpin will be found while watching the 3rd prince eying QS closely. * A-Heng left QS at the restaurant and instructed QS to search for the box with the shopkeeper. * In reality, A-Heng left the box in her pharmacy space. * QS never returned to the pavilion. HQ asked when A-Heng suspected QS and A-Heng responded that after the snowstorm the room looked like somebody had gone through it in a methodical way. HQ then asked what needs to be done to QS and A-Heng responded that QS won't be back as the 3rd prince won't let QS go. * QS was being detained by the 3rd prince and literally being beaten black and blue, trying to plead her innocence. The 3rd prince would have killed QS if QS had said that the box was never in the cloak. 220 * Qing Shuang (QS) told the 3rd prince, she (QS) searched A-Heng's room from top to bottom in the time QS had served A-Heng and never saw the hairpin and that that time at the restaurant was the first time QS saw the hairpin. So QS assumed XTM must be hiding it. * But even 12 years of service didn't save QS from the 3rd prince's wrath and QS was locked up and tortured in the dungeons. * The next day, news of A-Heng losing the hairpin spread through the capital. * The Feng matriarch (FM) was now doubly worried. So after reading the spoilers: Why are all the characters so young? I mean, I'm supposed to feel animosity for a 10-year-old girl? And be happy that because she acted spoiled, she had her wrist broken? A 10-year-old girl? Or how a 12 year old is literally becoming super famous and is incredibly mature and the only reason is weird is because she was before quiet and know is willful and this happens for almost 12000 chapters? I know its ancient times, but even so, is there any thematic reason that 90% of the cast are either children or barely teenagers in a romance/drama novel? And I'm the only one who finds the story profoundly mysoginistic at times and for what I see, it becomes more so with the new chapters? Even when you take how the ancient world of China could be it loooks like the thematic that the medieval ages in Europe was a mysoginistic hellhole when that was not actually the case. Like, there is this incredible and constant spectacle of whore shame, women brutality, and mockery not only by the men but also by literally any character at the drop of a hat? That the MC is almost always okay with this morality with barely some tokens of protest? I mean, she barely even react when she realized that his "brother" had 10-year-old concubines (what with this age) and only saved them because they could be "useful", is not perturbed that ML lust for her 12-year-old body, mocks non-virgin women even in her own monologue and she seems happy that her rivals a brutally raped and hurt, even when they are by our own modern standards children and teenagers. I just... do this continue during the entire story? Does it become worse with new chapters? And about spoiler: What happened to Yao-shi? Why did she suddenly became another Chen Shi? They explain that it happens because a double, but why did she start hated the MC?

For young men they are rich so having concubine is easy (and their parent have money to silence anyone who dare said anything), and the women worth is ally marriage and how many sons she will bear. So of course at the very young age they will have to look for good marriage. And our mc is an grown up before, and she is an doctor so when she feel his wrist she already know that his body is waste on sex with young girls. And they put the drug first, so what come around go back around. Spoiler: Yao shi is kina of shock and bewilder that her daughter is not the real one. I mean come on yao shi is the ancient women she of course going to think that the current mc is a witch that took over her daughter body.
This is chinese novel, what do you expect from that? Even in modern setting, the story always brutal like that. The only difference is the protagonist age. While chinese novel with modern setting will have MC with believable age, ancient setting will have MC with unbelievable age.
