Let's build an island colony (realistic RPG/simulator)

    Introduction

Welcome to Port Town, humanity's first outpost on an uninhabited island in an entirely new uninhabited isekai world that we call "The Rift". The portal to this dimension was discovered earlier this year in the middle of the Pacific Ocean by the Republic of Kiribati, one of the poorest third-world island nations in Oceania.

For political reasons, the government of Kiribati has been eager to establish a civilian presence in this new place to legitimize their exclusive territorial claim over The Rift. However, Kiribati has neither the population, skills, or money to carry out this massive project with their own citizens. Using their meager budget, they've recruited adventurous pioneers from all over the world to form this colony.

As previously agreed upon, you will renounce your prior citizenship and immigrate to Rift Island, a special autonomous economic zone of the Republic of Kiribati located inside The Rift. In exchange, you will receive a stipend of $100 (US dollars) for each day you are on this isle. Please use this money to acquire whatever you need in trade from Earth. A small supply ship arrives in port on the 1st and 15th of every month, and you can place orders for anything you require to survive and establish yourself on the island. It takes 15-30 days for shipments to arrive.

Apart from that, good luck -- flex those muscles and start clearing some land, because if you need it, you gotta make it yourself. This is the homesteading lifestyle! You've come to this island with $1500 in prior savings, and this island is completely empty and uninhabited except for the fortified government compound where a government official lives. Apart from that, there's no electricity, running water, roads, or even a toilet.

Will you share the fruits of your labor with others, or is your dream to make a fortune charging fees when customers wish to use your private facilities?

    How to play

This is a mostly realistic simulator/game. This means that you should treat everything in this game as if it were real life, so obviously no superpowers or magic or anything like that.

In fact, it is highly encouraged that you find DYI guides on the Internet to accomplish everything that your character does (example). For example, you want to build a log cabin? Do you know how to build a log cabin in real life? Well I sure don't -- so that means you should use Google-san to look up instructions on the Internet.

This game is connected with the real world with its virtual currency. Since your character receives $100 per day (US dollars), you can use that money to buy anything that you can find on the Internet and have it shipped to the island. Please note that you still need to pay shipping costs and wait for shipments to arrive. Additionally, you still require food, water, shelter, and clothes. If you run out of food, your character will die (obviously).

    Rules

    (A) The game occurs in real Earth time
    - The timezone you use doesn't matter as long as you post roughly every 24 hours.
    - Please put the date (e.g. Apr-25-2018) and your character name on each post.
    - If you miss a few days, you can make up the old reports later.
    - No make-ups on reports more than 1 week old (pretend your character was sick/injured or something).

    (B) Be as realistic as you can

    - Please at least TRY to be realistic. It's okay to be wrong because we didn't know better or weren't knowledgeable enough, but you shouldn't purposely do things that you know to be impossible/impractical.
    - Use the "Imagination Test":

    - Can you imagine yourself being able to do the action you just described in real life?
    - Ex: "John Doe cut down fifty 18" (45 cm) diameter trees in one hour with a small stone axe."

    - Can you really imagine yourself cutting down fifty large trees in an hour in real life?
    - If the answer is no, then it probably isn't very realistic.

    (C) Do not power-play

    - "Power Playing" means giving your character ridiculous amounts of "Plot Armor" as a writer.
    - Do not make your character over-powered, invincible, perfect at everything, etc.
    - Avoid using "Deus ex machina" when writing daily reports.

    (D) Do not contradict what's written on the wiki

    - The wiki is where the "canon" (official) details about Rift Island exists.
    - Every location on Rift Island ("hex tile") has a wiki page with a description about the wildlife, climate, resources available, etc.
    - Only the first player who discovers the tile can make up what COMMON wildlife/resources are present on the tile.
    - Later players need to follow and play along with the setting that the original discoverer made up.

    (E) If you build or discover something, add/edit the wiki

    - All players can edit the wiki. Make an account on the wiki first.
    - If you visit a new Tile on the Map that no other player has explored before:

    - You will be asked to give the Tile a name
    - You get to make up what is present on that Tile.
    - You will be asked to fill out a wiki page that ways what wildlife/resources can be found on the Tile.
    - If you are on a previously explored Tile, and you discover something not already on the wiki:
    - Please add the animal/plant/resource to the wiki as a RARE sighting, and roleplay as if it was difficult to find.
    - If enough other players confirm the sighting, it can be upgraded to UNCOMMON.
    - Note: Check with @lychee first before inventing a fantasy species that doesn't exist on Earth!
    - If you build any kind of structure:
    - Add your structure/building to the wiki page, and write a short article on it.
    - This allows other players to see your building. Not everybody is reading every single daily report, so you must add your building to the wiki so that other players know it is there.

    (F) Do not make money appear out of thin air

    - Please do not make money appear out of thin air. This messes up the economy of the game.
    - For new players,
the only way to gain money is to trade with other players or wait for the daily allowance ($100 per day).
    - Please read the manual for other ways to make money.

    (G) Do not manipulate NPCs excessively

    - Please try to limit how much you manipulate NPCs. This is because it's seductively easy to power play when you control an NPC.
    - Ex: "XXX NPC decided to give me $1000 because we're friends after drinking together one night"
    - You can interact with NPCs to a limited amount, but you should avoid having them giving your character lots of free stuff, especially when it doesn't benefit the NPC as much as it benefits you.
    - It is strongly preferred that you trade and interact with other players rather than NPCs.

    (H) You are responsible for tracking your own character's status

    - You are responsible for tracking how much money, food, health, etc, your character has.
    - Please include an
inventory list and a character status with every single daily report.

    (I) If you have multiple characters, they must be unique and un-related

    - NUF members can have multiple game characters, but they have be un-related.
    - This means they cannot have a backstory of knowing each other, best friends in past, etc.
    - When trading/interacting between two of your own characters, do not favor one over the other.

    - Always have them act in their own independent best interests.

    Manual

We ask everyone to create a character so you are conscious of the physical limits of your character. The limits that you report here will be the limits of your character in the game.

Feel free to adjust the values, but please try to keep them reasonable. Keeping the default values is recommended.
    Code:
    [b]Name[/b]: John Doe
    [b]Gender[/b]: Male
    [b]Age[/b]: 25

    [b]Food needs[/b]: 2000 kcal/day

    Welcome to your first day!

You have just disembarked from the ship, and you've brought with you anything that you can buy online with $1500 in savings. Ignore any shipping costs for today. Please remember to pack at least 15 days worth of food.

Please use this format (include estimated weight and product link):
    Code:
    ((TODAY'S DATE))

I arrived at Port Town and brought with me:
    [list]
    [*]One case of 12 MRE rations - (10 kg) - $129.95 - (http://a.co/7E8SUgo)
    [*]One hammer - (0.45 kg) - $6.78 - (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stanley-16-oz-Hickory-Hammer/19901194)
    [*] ...
    [*]TOTAL: 10.45 kg - $136.73
    [/list]

All players also receive one free hand-held radio (0.38 kg) that is issued by the government. Please see the radio section of the manual for instructions on how to use. It will not be replaced if damaged, lost, or destroyed.

Next, you should describe what you did on your first day.

Please describe your actions on approximately an hourly basis:
    Code:
    Saturday Apr-21. Today I did:
    [list]
[*]8am: I got off the boat and collected $100 from the Town House
[*]9am: I found a rock to put down and hide my stuff, and I ate breakfast

[*]7pm: I ate dinner (used one ration)
    [*]8pm: I went to bed
    [/list]

Make sure that you post your Status and Inventory at the end of every day.

Your status mentions the health/hunger/fatigue status of your character.

Your inventory mentions everything that you character owns. Please specify which items your character is carrying with them, which items are on the ground, in storage, etc. Your character can not carry more than their weight limit in their profile.
    Code:
Status: Healthy, well rested, slightly uncomfortable (slept on the ground), not hungry or thirsty.
    [spoiler="Inventory"]
    [spoiler="Carrying"]
    - Money: $963.27
    - 1 axe: 1 kg

The most recent map of the island can be found on the wiki. The area around Port Town is shown above.

The island map is printed on a hex map. Each hexagon is roughly 25 km in diameter.

Each hex can hold a maximum of one camp/village/settlement. The island map roughly suggests the type of environment that can be found on the hex. For more detail on each hex, please look it up on the wiki (e.g. Port Town).

Resources and wildlife for each tile have frequencies described either as:

    • Common - Everyone who visits the tile can easily find or see this.
    • Uncommon - Not everyone who visits the tile may see it during their time there, but plenty of people have witnessed it.
    • Rare - Only one or two people have seen this. It is very difficult to find.
Please remember not to contradict anything that is already written on the wiki.

Only the first person to discover a new hex tile has the right to describe what animals/plants/resources are common. Usually they were the ones to create the wiki page for the Tile.

Everyone else who visits the area later must follow the description made by the first explorer.

Later visitors are allowed to discover more animals/plants/resources on a previously explored tile, but they must be added to the wiki as a rare observance. If more players witness the same thing later, it may be upgraded to uncommon later on.
You are responsible for ensuring that your character has food to eat and water to drink. Remember to give your character time to eat and drink water (or fetch water) every day, as well as update your inventory.

You can collect your salary in the Government Office in Port Town. You aren't required to fetch it every day; if you wait until the end of the week to collect, you can take $700 (the same as $100 each day for 7 days).

Penalties for running out of water:
    • 3 days without water: Your character is now severely weak and cannot move from the current hex tile. You must depend on someone else to rescue you.
    • 7 days without water: Your character is dead.

Penalties for running out of food:
    • 7 days without food: Your character is now severely weak and cannot move from the current hex tile. You must depend on someone else to rescue you.
    • 28 days without food: Your character is dead.

You can delay the starvation counter by one day each time your character drinks a bare minimum of 1L of water or 1200 kcal of food.

However, to reset the starvation counter entirely, your character must consume the full caloric requirement of their character (written on their profile) for 3 days consecutively.
A small supply ship arrives at Port Town on the 1st and 15th of every month. You must physically be in Port Town in order to buy anything from the trading ship.

The trading ship carries a limited selection of goods (mostly food) on board every time it visits. You can find the list of goods on the next post of this thread. These ship goods require no shipping and you can buy them right on the spot.

For everything else, you must place a custom order.

Custom orders are divided into common goods and rare goods.
    • Common goods: Anything you can find in a supermarket or general store (e.g. Walmart) in a third world country. These goods are stocked in Kiribati, and takes 15 days to arrive.
    • Rare goods: Everything else. This includes usual things like tractors, solar panels, animal livestock, or high-tech bizarre equipment. These goods must be shipped from international locations like the USA, Australia, UK, etc, so it takes 30 days to arrive.

To make a custom order, you must find a link for what you want to purchase on the Internet.

Then, after finding the links of each item, you should write down the shipping weight and the volume of the box that the item comes in. If you are shopping on Amazon, you can scroll down to the "Product Information" section, and it tells you the "Item Weight" and "Package Dimensions" (e.g. 5.9 x 2.5 x 1.6 inches). Multiply the package dimensions to get the package volume (e.g. 5.9*2.5*1.6 = 23.6).

If the product weight or dimensions are not available, either find another similar item or make your best guess.

Once you have everything you wish to order, go to the shipping calculator and enter the total shipping weight and total volume. The shipping calculator will tell you how much shipping costs.

If you are satisfied with the numbers, you should post on the thread with this order form:
    Code:
I would like to purchase from Earth (all of these are common goods):
    [list]
[*]ITEM NAME (QUANTITY) - COST (US dollars) - WEIGHT - VOLUME - URL LINK
[*]ITEM NAME (QUANTITY) - COST (US dollars) - WEIGHT - VOLUME - URL LINK
[*]ITEM NAME (QUANTITY) - COST (US dollars) - WEIGHT - VOLUME - URL LINK
[*]ITEM NAME (QUANTITY) - COST (US dollars) - WEIGHT - VOLUME - URL LINK
    [*]SUBTOTAL:
    [*]TOTAL WEIGHT:
    [*]TOTAL VOLUME:
    [*]SHIPPING COST:
    [*]TOTAL COST: (plus shipping)
    [/list]

Reminder: Trading with NPCs is strongly discouraged! Instead, consider trading with other players!
It is highly recommended to find a DYI link online for everything you wish to build. If you do not know where to start and have no tools, the Primitive Technology youtube series is an excellent resource for how to make things starting from scratch.

Google-sensei is your best friend. It can tell how to make:
    • Log cabin
    • Bricks
    • Cement
    • Stone axe
    • And more

You should try to report the exact quantities of the materials that you use (e.g. 17 nails, 3 meters of rope). If you don't know exactly, give your best guess and write it down.

Please estimate a realistic time it would take for you to complete your construction project.

    Construction template:
    Code:
    Blueprint materials:
    [list]
[*]15 pine wood logs, 10cm in diameter
[*]10 meters of paracord - LINK (if applicable)
[*]10 nails - LINK (if applicable)
    [/list]

Please keep in mind that you obviously need the proper tools to do construction too. If you do not have the tools you either have to make them or buy them.

Additionally, stay conscious of the things that your character would be able to accomplish by themselves. If your blueprint requires 3 pairs of hands to do a particular task (e.g. lifting 100 kg block), then you need to find people to help you to do this task!

After you start building something, make sure to add your structure to the wiki.

On the wiki page for Port Town, type:
    Code:
    [[Port_Town/My_structure|My structure]]

This creates a wiki link to a page called "Port_Town/My_structure" with a display name of "My structure". If you are making a private structure, make sure to give it a somewhat unique name (e.g. "lychee's tent").

After you save the page, you can click on the red link and create a new page for your structure. You can then write whatever you wish about your structure.

Side note: remember that everything has durability. While you aren’t required to explicitly say how long it will last, keep in mind that wood rots and axes get blunt. How long does it take for something to break or spoil?

Just remember to have your hut fall down every once in a while (lol).
All pioneers are issued one 10W Ailunce VHF Ham radio on their first day on the island. It has a battery life of 15 hours (active use) or 7 days (standby mode).

When your character is within range of a radio tower (Port Town has one), you can communicate with anyone adjacent (max 1 tile away, or 30 km range) to the radio tower network who is also carrying a radio.

In the future, additional radio towers (or "repeaters") may be built on other tiles to extend the range of the communication network. However, they currently do not exist unless someone volunteers to build more.

If you are outside of the range of any radio tower, your radio only has enough range (5 km range) to communicate with people in the same tile as you. You cannot communicate with people who are out of range.

If your radio runs out of battery, you cannot use the radio unless you have a means to charge the battery or are carrying additional batteries. At the government office in Port Town, you can exchange your spent radio battery for a charged one for the cost of $10. Please note that these are specialized batteries, so they will not work with other equipment unless you're smart enough to figure out how to use non-standard voltage batteries of the wrong shape with your other portable electronic devices.
The island operates as an “elected dictatorship”.

On the first of every month, players elect one player to be the “Governor”. The governor makes the laws for the island and controls the security force (2 NPCs) in Port Town.

A governor can be impeached and removed from office if 75% of active players sign a petition.
After you have played one character for a minimum of 15 days, you can establish a routine for your character.

A routine is a sequence of days that your character will execute without needing you to watch them or write reports for them every day. This is kind of like "programming" your character's behavior in advance.

Here is an example for writing a routine:
    Code:
    Routine for John Doe:

Day 1: Port Town (1st of month)
    [list]
[*] Go to supply ship and buy 3x of Mountain House 2150 2-pack kcal food kits (total 6), 2x SOS food labs 3600 kcal emergency food
[*] Eat breakfast at Mary Sue's kitchen tavern shop
[*] Walk 10 km southwest to Pillar forest. Eat 1/2 emergency food bar along the way.
[*] Locate old campsite and clean up. Then eat dinner (1 Mountain House).
    [/list]

    Day 2: Pillar Forest
    [list]
    [*] ACTION 1
    [*] ACTION 2
    [*] ...
    [/list]

    Day 3: (LOCATION)
    [list]
    [*] ACTION 1
    [*] ACTION 2
    [*] ...
    [/list]

    ...

    TOTALS:
    - Money gained: XXXX
    - Money spent: XXXX
    - Net money change: XXXX

    NET INVENTORY CHANGES:
    [list]
[*] +17 cedar wood logs, 8 ft long, 10" in diameter, stored at Port Town wood pile
[*] +2 Wester Frontier 1200 kcal MREs (unused), stored at John's Port Town hut
[*] +5 12" baskets made out of reeds, stored at John's Port Town hut
    [/list]

As you can tell, the routine form looks very similar to the daily reports, except you don't have to go as detailed in the routine form as you normally do for your daily reports. Additionally, you include the net inventory changes at the very end.

There are several rules about routines:
Each character can have only have one routine at a time.
Please, keep the routines simple. No conditional statements (if-else actions).
The routine must be sustainable. Your character should not be rushed, exhausted, starving, or stressed at any point in the routine.
Your character cannot do new things they have never done before in a routine. You must have done it at least once while roleplaying the character once in the past.
Nothing in the routine can be left to chance. For things that require some degree of luck (e.g. hunting), assume mild-moderate bad luck and calculate enough time for a task in situations when luck is bad.
Your character cannot interact with other player-controlled characters unless that other character is also on a regular schedule/routine.
You must post your character's up-to-date inventory status at the end of every cycle and manually restart the routine. No automatic looping.

If you have fulfilled all these things, you can start a routine.

You can interrupt a routine for a character any point to take manual control. However, if you do this and deviate from the routine too much, the character cannot go back to their old routine, and you have to make a new routine.

Pay attention to situations where your routine might break. Examples include:
    Running out of storage space
Your routine depends on another player's routine, and the other player's routine was stopped
Not having enough money to buy something
    Equipment broke

If your routine breaks, obviously you must take manual control again or re-write a new routine.

If other people depend on your routine, and you stop your routine for any reason, you should inform all the people who depend on your routine that it is paused/broken.
The easiest way to make money is to produce something and sell it to other players. You can set the price to whatever you want and negotiate all you like. It is also possible to start a store/shop by setting up a Routine.

Please note that selling to NPCs is highly frowned upon. You should avoid doing this because it is kind of similar to power-playing.

Another way to make money is to produce large quantities of something and sell it to a distributor on Earth. Large quantities are required because there is no way you can beat the cost to ship an item unless you produce large enough quantities that you make shipping worth it.

This rule is true in real life too: Can you imagine a gardener signing a contract with a supermarket, saying: "Today I will sell you a single tomato for $2. I might grow tomatoes randomly and I can't guarantee a consistent supply of tomatoes, but please pay for shipping anyways."

It would never happen because the businesses don't operate that way.

You could try to sell your products directly to consumers on E-Bay, but the shipping cost from Rift Island is so high I can almost guarantee you that it's not worth it. If you absolutely insist on selling on E-Bay, you should:
    1. Find a similar product being sold on E-Bay and note the price.
    2. Calculate the shipping cost of your item from Rift Island using the Rare Goods option.
    3. Subtract the E-Bay price by your estimated shipping cost. This is your profit.
    4. On either the 1st or 15th of the month, ship your product to Earth and get money. Please post in the forum with the E-Bay link of the competitor product.

The more reliable way to make money is to sign a contract with a distributor.

For now, you should contact @lychee if you wish to do this, and @lychee will negotiate the terms of the contract with you. The contract will look something like this (may vary substantially):

For those curious about how the price is quoted, the distributor will typically be looking to buy a large quantity of a product from the pioneer at 66% of the final retail price (for 1/3rd cut in profits). The final retail price is obtained from the price of competitor products easily found online (e.g. amazon).

It doesn't matter which party pays shipping. If the distributor agrees to pay for shipping, the shipping cost will be deducted from the payment. In the end, the distributor will always be looking to make a profit of 33% of the final retail price.

If shipping cost is too expensive for the product you are trying to sell internationally, you should consider giving up and perhaps start a business in a different product. Some products simply aren't as profitable as others, especially since your product is competing on a world market.
The most senior/experienced players are the GMs.

You can ask around for which player knows the most about farming, or cooking, or woodworking. If none exist... you’re welcome to get your google hat out and research online to become our new expert!

GMs help build the world and make “reality checks” with the game. There isn’t just one GM for everything because that would be an awfully large amount of work.

@lychee will answer questions about the Map and Trade and Gardening (lol).

For other things, we’ll need a lot more help!

Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) (external heater included)
Emergency Freeze-Dried Survival Kits (requires hot water)
Energy Bars/Tablets (not meant to be a long-term food source)
    Canned Food Ingredients (requires cooking)

Things I brought with me to Port Town:

It's probably a good idea to think carefully about what to bring, so I'm going to take my time here. >.<

Will also be gone for most of the day, so I'll answer any questions when I get back.

    Saturday Apr-21. Today I did:
    • 6am: After realizing the ship has finally reached it's destination I headed towards the Town Hall to get the welfare money. +$100
    • 7am: Noticing it's been an hour since we arrived I sat down to eat some basic breakfast -3 EMR bars (1/3 of a case).
    • 8am: Soon after eating my breakfast I decided to take one of the multivitamins I had and headed towards the South West. (1/2)
    • 9am: I soon noticed a forest as I kept walking, a grin appearing as I entered the forest. (2/2) - Explored the South-west Tile from Port Town.
    • 10am: As I arrived I grabbed my hatchet and tried to cut one of the smaller trees down, (1/2)
    • 11am: Soon I was able to cut it down completely and chop some pieces up into basic firewood (2/2)
    • 12am: After noticing the sun in the middle of the sky I began to eat my lunch. -3 EMR bars (2/3 of a case is finished)
    • 1pm: After finishing my lunch, I placed down the cardboard box that contained most of my stuff that I brought along along to the island and began to sort it so I don't lose anything.
    • 2pm: Awhile later I noticed a sudden thirst hitting me as I haven't drank anything since this morning, and headed towards the east of the Forest where the Grand Lagoon was lying, luckily I was already near it and I drank some water with the life straw.
    • 3pm: Heading back towards my impromptu camp site I began to do a bit of basic exercises to keep my body in decent shape.
    • 4pm: Afterwards I began to try and forage around for fruits and the likes, of which I found some berries resembling raspberries, and put them away, whether they are toxic or not requires an expert to examine them.
    • 5pm: As I returned to my campsite I noticed a fox that seemed to be sniffing some of my stuff warily and suddenly darted away when it noticed my presence.
    • 6pm: I soon decided to eat dinner, while salivating at the thought of cooked fox... -3 EMR bars (1 case of EMR has been finished)
    • 7pm: Noticing that it's beginning to get dark I began to put my stuff in the cardboard box again and rested it in a tree so nothing could steal it.
    • 8pm: As I remembered some basic knowledge on survival that I shouldn't sleep on the ground, I climbed one of the more comfortable trees and went to sleep while thinking of my plans for tomorrow, and how I should travel back to Port Town in the morning to report what I discovered here.
    ----- ----- ----- ----- -----

Status: Healthy, well rested, uncomfortable (Slept in a tree), no hunger, slight thirst.
    - Money: $100
    • Three cases of EMR ( Emergency Food Rations ) with 9 bars each - (1.9kg)
    • Two bottles of Multivitamin Supplements - (.09kg)
    • Four life straw water purifiers - (0.181kg)
    • Two 16oz bottles of Rubbing Alcohol - (.9kg)
    • A pack of 5 lighters - (0.06kg)
    • 13" Wooden Hatchet (1kg)
    • 22oz Hammer (1kg)

    Roger, UTC then!

    Looks good!

For the future though, keep in mind that there's a shipping fee and a 1 week delay for shipping custom things to the Island... the 25 kg box is free (no shipping or payment required), but I noticed that you tried to buy some other things in addition to that.

So remember to calculate the weight of your purchase and stick on the shipping price next time. And then you'll receive the package one week later.

@Clozdark You don't have to change anything this time because it's your first day, but remember for next time! ;D

Err, some of those look really heavy? It's fine if you're approximately around the 25 kg mark and the numbers are flubbed slightly (because nobody's going to sit there and do math), but that 1.5 kW power generator is 156-174 lbs according to amazon....

Try to keep things that you could actually fit in the 25 kg box +/- things that you could actually just carry in your hands. Anything more than that is definitely rejected. Otherwise it's not fair for everyone else.

Keep in mind that the southwest forest is 10km away. Since you started in Port Town, you can see the distances to various other locations on the Wiki page.

Since your character can travel at 6 km per hour, it should take you just under 2 hours to reach the forest. Keep this in mind for the future!

Since you're the first person to explore the tile, you get to give it a name if you wish!

Let me know if you come up with a name and I can help you set up a wiki page for the tile.

Hmm... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Well since it's the first tile outside of the Port Town discovered, then I guess it should be named something rather ambitious no?

Very well! I have decided! Pillar Forest! The forest to be the Pillars of our future endeavors..!

    Saturday Apr-21. Today I did:
    • 6am: At long last I’m at my destination. Today I am finally free to do whatever I want to do. I headed towards the nearest Tavern to discuss a transaction with the owner. As I was eating breakfast I discuss with the Tavern boss if it were possible to relay my needs through him using my HAM radio. I would transfer my Town Hall money ($100.00 a day) to his account and I would pick up my gear once a month. He agreed with the deal for a 5% total charge daily. I agreed. I also ask about any new information about the surrounding area. Nothing new on that account.
    • 8am: I formed a contract at Town Hall to send my money to the Tavern boss. I also grabbed some food to go for lunch and dinner at the Tavern. Told the boss leave it on my tab.
    • 10am: A couple of hours out of town I found a nice area next to the forest and lake. I started to set up camp.
    • 12pm: Just finish setting up camp. Tent in the trees. Water in tank. Water never tasted so good. Dry wood set to burn. Had lunch. I love chicken. That is chicken right??
    • 1pm: After finishing my lunch, I started out a little further out along some game trails and set some traps. I headed back to the lake to set up additional fish/ crab traps.
    • 2pm: I headed to the forest to get better idea of the dangers in the immediate area. Also to clear any brush within 30 feet.
    • 4pm: After giving myself a good killing field. I also found a bunch of old fallen trees. Look like there was some sort of sinkhole that happen. Anyway lucky for me there was more than enough aged lumber to build a double hull canoe. Since the light started to faded I started my camp fire with the lens from my compass. I had a striker and waterproof matches, but you never know when you’ll be needing those. I have to say having so much water was a good idea.
    • 5pm: I tried to stay away from the wildlife both animals and plants. I didn’t need to get sick or worse die out here in the middle of nowhere. I had dinner and called it a day. I contacted the Tavern boss and ask him to please contact me if he hears anything I need to know and thank him for all his help.
    • 6pm: I haul up my food into the tent and went to sleep early. It was a long first day and starting tomorrow it’ll be a even longer day tomorrow.

Perfect! The wiki page for Pillar Forest is created. Since you discovered it, feel free to write whatever you want in it.

You can put down what kind of plants, animals, etc that you saw and how common/rare/etc they are.

I really don't want to keep spoiling things but there isn't anything on this island whatsoever except for the Town Hall and all the players. This means there isn't a Tavern or anything like that... it's quite literally a deserted island.

I might suggest that you check out the Wiki page for Port Town? Everything that is currently built inside Port Town is listed there.

The wiki page is open to editing by everybody. This way, if you build something, you can add it to the wiki page yourself.

You can refer to Exitiumm and Clozdark's posts as a reference if that helps.

Also, remember to include your inventory and status at the end of every post!
