well he didn't get punished because he is kind of an elder and former comrade of He Changdi's grandpa so he is just left off the hook or something,.he did turn back though cause He Changdi and Chu Lian was kind of lost after they fell from the cliff.,and after He Changdi escorted Chu Lian to Liangzou, the old Mo dude wants to accompany him to return to the camp w/c He Changdi did not agree,.cause he wants him to stay at Liangzou to protect Chu Lian "staying here is helping me" said He Changdi,....he did get punished by He Changdi in the end, he was vanished from the services of He Clan because he told He Matriach that Chu Lian was abducted by the barbarians causing some strain and dissatisfaction from the old lady, when He Changdi clearly forbid him from ever mentioning it cause he more or less suggested that Chu Lian might have been 'assaulted' while on captive,..that's the reason why the Matriach become muddle-headed in treating Chu Lian after they return in the capital.,.

Hey I've been reading this for a while now but why is everyone so against ReinML for his mistreatment of her? "She" did cheat on him, got him killed, destroyed his family, etc. If this was xianxia you would have him saying "I refuse to live under the same sky!!!" . The fact that he could come to like her knowing what "she " did speaks volumes. Well just my humble opinion ~ Anyhow I want to know her interactions with her family. Please and thank you.
Well, we read the story from Chu Lian's pov, so of course we (or at least me) holding a grudge for him starving our MC. Lucky Chu Lian is smart enough. And if you read comment section at volare, you will realize even though readers hate him for awhile, they are not at the point of "KILL HIM". The hate just until the point "starve him from Chu Lian's food". Read the latest comment section, you can already see the readers warm up to him (the abs is working wonder for bushis I guess).
I know. I just thought it unfair for some people plainly hating on the guy cuz he hates a woman who killed him. It's not like he knew that she switched bodies.

This is out of topic a bit but, if you guys think He Sanlang is hateful enough, you guys should try 'Beloved Empress'..You'll feel like you want to get into the story and tear the ML into pieces..but the story is hilarious, I recommended it
