    How long does the misunderstanding between the mc and the ML about him wanting to kill her last? it started around like 640 or something right? when she ran away.

    And they resolve their misunderstandings fairly easily right? Though I felt it was pretty stupid of MC (who has till the chapter where she ran away shown smart and good common sense) to just run away without confronting the real ML despite having had more than 600 chapters of ML's possessiveness and obsessive stalking tendencies. So I stopped MTL after this coz this run-away trope is too overused and I became disgusted.

    So how was this misunderstanding solved in the end?

    MC is the daughter of two people who were heirs of their respective sects and they had a tragic story. MC's mom was the only daughter and designated heir of the head of a medical/alchemical sect and somehow got amnesia and got lost from the sect. Her father and adoptive brother (the uncle named Bai) both believe she is still alive somewhere and keep hunting for her. While in amnesia, MC's mom met the heir of another powerful martial arts sect and they fell in love. There was opposition to their marriage from the sect elders because they didn't know the background of MC's mom and thought she was a useless woman with no power. Shortly after they married against opposition, the sect was contacted by someone from the Spirit world posing as a Goddess. She promises them great power and riches as well as help in ascending to the Spirit World if they can fulfil her conditions. She asks for MC's dad to be given to her as she falls in love with him on first sight. MC's dad disagrees and somehow gets afflicted with a disease or poison (don't remember which) with permanent and horrible effects. One of the sect elders who was also illicitly in love with MC's dad (despite being his aunt's generation) secretly sends people to assassinate MC's mom who flees while pregnant with MC. While fleeing, MC's mom gives birth and leaves MC with Lan Yue while leading the assassins away from MC. The assassins leave MC's mom for dead but don't see her actually die. So, there's suspicion that MC's mom is still alive somewhere.

    MC cures her father from the poison and MC's grandmother throws a massive tantrum at her grandfather saying I won't let you sacrifice my son for your clan's greed to stop them from handing MC's father over to the imposter from the spirit world. They figure out that MC is their granddaughter and MC's maternal grandfather also arrives to help. They defeat the sect elder who was in love with MC's dad and start searching for her mom. MC is now (EDITED) acknowledged as the heir to 3 major sects - the medicine clan of her mom, the sect that sheltered her when she was pregnant and her dad's sect.
