Hello, i want to ask about novel 108 Maidens of Destiny. The question is - is mc strong here? Can he fight just fine by himself? Im asking cuz it gives similiar vibes to Sekirei where mc was kinda useless, so it was not fun to watch. So i want to avoid reading anything that is almost the same. Thanks in advance.
Haven't read up to current chapter ended up delaying it while reading other novels so about 30 chapters behind most recent update but Spoiler: About MC's fighting capability In this world the normal cultivators fight with ranged spells and items such as sending flying swords at each other or using spells with certain beneficial items in them. It is dangerous to fight in close quarters with most of the maidens because for the most part they are close combat oriented and both their weapon and senses are far better than most. Certain people are able to fight up front either due to skills they have or what they happen to cultivate and the MC is one of those, though not very early on in the story. It is surprising that he is able to fight evenly and sometimes better than the Maidens who are considered at the same "cultivation" or somewhat stronger. The spoiler goes into a bit more detail than what I intended about the world but basically he can fight and is strong on his own and you see that pretty early on.
well at first he has his gun which is op bec he can kill strong cultivator but as the novel progress the mc rely to his skill he starts to cultivate with his waifus bec in his term he should protect them no the other way around so i think he not that useless like the one in sekerei
He is stronger than everyone at the same level, but against a combat oriented heavenly star he is a bit weaker
He had military experience and basic combat training from earth, he can kill low level cultivators with gun but still hard to compete againt maidens and high level cultivators at first. He will cultivate and gradually become more stronger in future.
Well, yes, all you need to know is he is not that beta brat from Sekirei and yes, he is actually capable by himself. He's just WAY stronger with the help of the girls. Harem wise, it's one of the few where the women aren't just used to relieve stress, cause drama, or be apart of the peanut gallery and be used to show off how awesome the mc is.
He's only weak at the beginning when he had only just transferred from Earth to Liangshan Continent. Very quickly, he picks up on the basics of cultivation and how to become stronger. To win his battles at the beginning, he relies on cunning and his contracted maidens. Over time, that shifts to him being able to hold his own against opponents at similar or higher levels of strength than his own.
