When you read wuxias and other stuff with QI you read it as:

  1. KI

  2. Chi

  3. Other?

They all pronounced the same way. Just different spellings due to how different languages do things

First I read breaker and veritas in that it was 'Ki', then much later I got into Xianxias where it's 'Qi', later I got to know it's pronounced as 'Chi' when I was going through phonetics.

I have a question though, what is the difference b/w 'Internal Energy' and 'Qi'?

In wuxia internal energy is ki , in xianxia qi is more like mana present everywhere. Though these are just generalization and depending on the story it can change

Have u read 'Legend of the Great Saint'? Initally he has only internal energy then he converts that into 'Qi' becoming a 'Qi' warrior. It's not clear to me the differences b/w the two.

I haven't read the novel, but it's possible that "internal energy" is just referring to the body's kinetic energy, whereas Qi is the typical mystical mumbo jumbo the author half makes up as he goes along. So you can think of it as initially just using the power - the physical power - of the body in a somewhat mystical way, then later adding in the more... spiritual.. energy, Qi, to transcend the limits of humanity. Hard to say for sure without actually reading the novel.

It's important to remember that there is no real standard for what 'Qi' actually is. Every author makes it up as they go. Therefore, you really have to rely on the novel itself to figure these things out.

There are different systems that you can use to Romanize Chinese. Pinyin is the most used today, but in the past, Wade-Giles was the most popular system. Under Wade, 氣 (traditional) or 气 (simplified) is written as chi. In Pinyin, it's written as qi. The Q sound in pinyin is kind of hard to describe. It's like an "sh" and "ch" mixed together. It also varies by dialect. It's also pronounced differently in Japan (ki) and Korea (gi).

I read Qi and Ki as Ki.
    I read Chi as Chi.

I don't really care what is the correct way of reading it, I read in the way that is more convenient to me. I'm pretty sure I read most character names wrong anyway~

While 'chi' is the normally accepted romanization for that pronunciation, the actual sound is more like 'tschi' (my best attempt at it) which sounds lighter than how might normally say 'chi'. That's why the 'q' is used in standrad pinyin.

Isn't it pronounce like both "Ki" and "Chi"? Like the meeting of two pronunciations. So it sounds like Ki and also Chi at the same time. Like a mixed breed of both?
I mean producing thr sound from the back of the mouth like "Ki" but making the sound more like "Chi"?
(I'm not sure about it, hence the question marks. That was what I thought it was pronounced)
