Life is the aggregate of choices. Let the writers decide for themselves, while we offer them options to choose from.

For example, they could either write on the theme of "Hallowe'en",

    Or,

They could continue the following sentence into a story, "Nevervous as they were, Jordon and Emily didn't hesitate to knock on the worn out door..."

One this is something new, a change, which may prove to be an aid for the writers. Two, this is totally aligned with the main aim of this thread, to facilitate the writers, to prompt them to write. Three, most importantly, all of us have different opinions and different interests. Sometimes they are conflicting, like you and I have regarding the application of this idea.

But hey, it's not a bad thing. It's only human. And that is what the choice should serve to, to cover those people who have this different opinion. So let's do this!

Oh, this kind of thing could work, giving multiple options is always a good choice~

Alright everyone this is (again) a bit late, but let's get the voting for June done! I'll keep the poll up for 5 days! ^^)/

Here are the ideas we got for this month!
    • Fictogemino: Write a story that can be read both forwards and backwards and make sense either way! You can also try making 2 stories in one with this!
    • The Hero Proposed to me, but... I'm the Demon King (or queen!): Is it a story of forbidden love? Or is this a tale of a dumb idiot that couldn't see the mount tai ahead of them?
    • Lights Out: As a child, your parents always told you to switch on the nightlight when you slept. Bound a childish sense of obedience, you kept it up for years, even after you started attending schools overseas. Living in a place far away from home, and empowered by a grown-up pride, you decide to switch off all the lights for one night. As it approaches midnight, nothing happened, causing you to snicker at your childhood cluelessness.
Then the bedframe of your temporary lodgings shake, and the wind begins to howl.
    • Sinners: You are one of seven, one of the greatest. Living far away from humans, you amass your powers, awaiting the day of reckoning. Yet, one day, you wake to the sound of cannonfire and explosions. You have been betrayed, your castle compromised. Two options are left to you: Stay and fight to the bitter end, or run and live to fight another day.
    • Continue a Story: For this one, rather than a theme, you're given the first phrase of the story and should continue with that in mind! Here are our contenders! ^^)/
      • I told him to not go so far, he didn't listen to me and now this is what happens...
      • You are one crazy person, you know that, right...?
      • A car is moving on a desolate street. The couple inside are unaware of their fatal predicament. Soon the boyfriend realizes the fact that the brakes aren't working, and a shadow can mysteriously be seen on the road...
Thanks to everyone that gave the suggestions! I'm clueless in coming up with topics! ^^)/

Please vote on the Poll on the Submission thread! *thanks to @Westeller for deleting the previous poll*

Seems like a lot of people liked the idea! 2 people even wrote stories with it as their topic already! xD

Ah, an example would be nice Ruyi-chan! I'm curious to what people made with it already! *hugs*

Heheh, I have two, but both are fanfiction, so it might be a little hard to follow.

First one is The Year is 2205 by Fantasia di Tempesta, the person who introduced me to the genre.

Then there's one I wrote called Kintsugi.

I know there's a lot more examples out there, but most of them are Indonesian so I can't read them, sorry!

Oh, I see! The theme is easier to understand if it involves time travel :sweating_profusely:

Lol both of us were writing for a Redo theme at the same time that’s why! It doesn’t have to be time travel unless you want it.

In mine there’s none at all, unless you count the flashbacks...but it’d be hard to get all the references without prior knowledge of Touken Ranbu’s Game mechanics~

Unlike how easy it works in poetry. This seems a lot harder cause there are some illogical sentences that appear which mixes things up, but that's the fun part.

Most people just do paragraph by paragraph. I think it'd be iNSANE to try word for word...omg..at most you'd be able to write a few sentences.

    All the best!!

Speaking of poem fictogemino examples...here's another good example! Read it top to bottom first, then reverse for a completely different meaning!
