Nah that's not what happened in ze Tian ji
It was just that they never met again for some reason and the ending was rushed because the author had family reasons, it didn't even have an epilogue

I've basically dropped just as many as I've started. I generally find them okay for the first couple hundred chapters, then the author just repeats the same stuff over and over with different names. Despite the fact that many CN novels do the exact same stuff, it's much easier to read it when it's a new MC and another writing style, so I still start reading new CN novels every now and then.
It's honestly the same with JP novels except I read considerably less before I get bored of it. I drop most JP novels before chapter 100 while almost all the CN novels get past chapter 100 and quite a few make it past chapter 500 before I drop them.

I generally drop the JP novels earlier because the MC frustrates me, in CN novels you know exactly what kind of MC it is when you start reading it. In JP novels the MCs are actually slightly different but they are almost always spineless, a moron or a pervert who has some twisted sense of morals where it's okay to violate a girl in every single way other than sex.
Sadly the most common type of MC in JP novels is all of the above.

I do know that the only one I finished is coiling dragon and dropped almost the rest I'm currently reading only 2 to 5 cn. The problem is that they have no end and ten to be repetitive and copy paste from others it just get boring at some point and more so if only have 100-300 chapters translated and is 1000+ in original language I don't think someone will keep reading that or will rate it good. Maybe I just got bad luck and always began reading the worst ones because I have a lot in my reading list that I haven't even read the first chapter

Can't remember, I don't finish most novels same with jp either.

Translation was too slow or the story just plummeted that my interest for the novel dissolves.

i have read and dropped a ton of chinese and japanese stories both have their good and bad sides, i read more chinese lately as they get more stable releases and more tolerable cliches in my opinion.

I dropped more JP than CN novels tbh. Of CN novels, it's usually the redundant ones after I read 100+ chapters.

Dunno what JP novels you read, most probably harem ones. Steer clear from JP harem, then you won’t have those problems.

Either way, people really like to compare JP and CN. Each have their own shitty novels, each also have their own awesome novels.

I think I dropped majority of the CN novels I read halfway, but a few of my favorite novels is in CN.

    CN? Mm...I think about 10-15.
    - One I dropped because a potential harem suddenly became single pairing only.
    - 3 I dropped because the instant another nation shows up, the story quality dropped to the point that even dog sh** looked like gold bricks when compared to the garbage that I was reading.
    - 3 I dropped because the female lead was out of my strike zone.
    - And the rest I dropped because they were soul-suckingly bad.

As for how many I've currently actively following...umm, 20 - 30. So the success ratio isn't very good.

JP Novels I dropped cause I don't remember what going on at times in the novel.
CN Novels I dropped cause I learn to hate the MC character being all knowing prick.
KN Novels I dropped cause I get tired of the leveling grinding that happens 24/7.

CN are filled with repetitive overused tropes because they're so crazy long the authors just can't come up with that much original content. Even Histories Strongest Senior Brother, which started out mocking some of those tropes, wound up using them later in the story. As for the racism, I became less offended by it after I stopped to think about how many Chinese are portrayed as greedy, arrogant, jealous, and stupid in those books.

As for KN, there may not be that much hate for them, but I feel like you could copy and past much of the hate for JN onto KN. A typical KN protagonist is basically a typical JN protagonist, but with the perverted stuff swapped out for more grinding and a lot of ranting about rich people.

A couple. And I'm still reading a few. And finished some
Most of the CN novels tend to just not be my cup of tea
