What happened to the translator of this novel Don’t Tell Me This Is the True History of the Three Kingdoms!
The predicament of us readers, losing those who provide us with distraction from real life to it. Nonetheless, I wish to thank all those who contributed to NU, RRL and all other sites.
What Alexios said. Not only that, he's not going to go out of his way to make time since the series was so niche that it was rather unpopular. I liked it though. Anyway, you can (probably) expect sporadic updates, but not the dailies that he was making before he started his job. As for whether we'll get a new dedicated translator, I'm not holding out any hopes and I'm just praying that MTL technology becomes natural enough in 10 years that I can just run through it myself.
There's nothing wrong with putting your job first and all, but I'll never understand why the idea of putting up a quick announcement about your shift in priorities is such an impossible thing for translators... Even if you don't have time to translate, surely you have time to do that..
He did mention it. Just not on the last post. I think he gave notice repeatedly like 3 months in advance and if you were saving up chapters then you wouldn't have seen the ones with his future plans Then there are the other content providers (like me) who decide to take a little break and end up disappearing for years...
I went through the last ten chapters and didn't see any kind of notice from him, but I don't read the novel so I'll take your word for it. ... Even then, I think it would have been infinitely preferable if he took the two minutes out of his day it would have taken to post an announcement. Y'know, sometime between now and the six and a half months its been since his last post. Same for you. If you want to take a break, I think that's fine. Completely. But don't disappear for years without notice, plz... Even if you suddenly realize its been two months since your last post. Just take a minute to say that you planned on taking a couple of days off and things got out of hand, but you don't feel like translating right now, or don't have the time to. Y'know. Whatever. It's fine if you don't have the best excuse in the world. Whether translating is your job or your hobby, I don't think anyone has the right to judge you for walking away. But, if you do.. just.. give some kinda notice, y'know? Walk away properly.
Farther! Farther! https://asd398.wordpress.com/2017/09/01/8177/ I'd like to have something on hand when I give the status update, but I should definitely give this customer service thing a try...even though I like the stories more than I like people...
