If you want a rial life example you can use what Carl Friedrich Gauss did when he was young. Basically his teacher was feeling lazy and told his 7 years old students to sum all numbers from 1 to 100. Gauss only took some minutes to discover a faster way than make a hundread of sum to reach the result. If he MC you are talking about demostrate a thorem too groundbreaking while being a nobody it would be strange that the teacher didn't steal it and claim it of his own. Is a simple thing that can be not found in a culture that is backward in mathematical knowledge but can impress a lot if the other people think that was deduced in minutes. Also is an easy theorem to explain and demonstrate.
