I noticed in novels besides enjoying face slapping badass moments, I also enjoy it when the MC is great at just being understanding, helpful, or a good support role. Like a best friend, love advisor, maid/butler, mentor, counselor, support class, or wingman/wingwomen. For example, I like it when Reika-sama from Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu gives out good love advice. Or when Tadano-kun from Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu comes to Komi-san's rescue when no one else is able to understand what she really wants to express or is thinking. Or when Hachiman from Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru reads between the lines and helps people. The best novel example I can currently think of is Maid Will Go on Through Thick and Thin!. I'm fine with CN, KR, JP, CN, RRL or manga, etc. Edit: There was a Wong-fu video about the Best Third Wheel that expresses the kind of cool and awesome I'm looking for. The want to give them a high five/pat on the back for being an unsung hero. Edit2: Song Shuhang from Cultivation Chat Group would fit what I'm looking for too.
