Okay, since I'm not sure if I will end up having to take the drama down (or at least the audio of the drama), I put together this crude tutorial of how exactly one can find/buy the audio drama on the proper channels (Mao Er FM)!
@Attica Why not just upload your subbed videos elsewhere? There are other video hosting websites. Or directly use file hosting website. I've seen subbing groups like Horriblesubs to use file-upload.com or uploaded.net. They are very big subbing group, so as a translator yourself, you can always ask them for an oppinion on the matter. As a third option you can always write the script. It will be a text post, so you can share it any place you want. The decision is yours however. I myself can't buy the audio dramas, but the last thing I want is for you to have copyright problems. This makes me nervious if the donghua will have the same problems once it airs. Especially if the subbing group doesn't have a website of their own like horriblesubs. Sharing only via YT is out of question with their copyright scan and restrictions.
I was just about to say the same thing. I have seen someone posting the translated episodes of di wang gong lue on vimeo and thus far there haven't been any issues as far as i know. If the donghua is posted on sites like kissanime they probably won't get taken down for copyrights
I guess subbing groups have more detailed information about the copyright issues regarding the animes they sub and the websites they post them on. So I guess the donghua will have better luck.
@Attica there are also quite a few vietnamese accounts translating and posting the mdzs drama cds on YT so it seems odd that you got copyright infringement
Sad... I don't think subs count as fair use, sry. you could share vids or something... or torrent? Gdrive folder? IDK
If nothing else works, you can always just upload your subs as a text file and we can listen as we read...
I only just got the notice yesterday. It's therefore possible the Vietnamese channels only just got hit with it too and haven't responded yet. I am considering other video hosting websites, but I really like how Youtube makes it extremely easy to make subtitles with its CC function. If I had to put the subtitles into the video itself, that would increase my workload exponentially, and I wouldn't be able to fix any mistranslated lines. If they press further, I will probably either: 1. Go with the text file approach, making a Google Docs script with all the lines 2. Upload a youtube video with english subs but no audio, so people can play that simultaneously with the actual audio.
I think Vimeo also has CC function. https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/224968828-Captions-and-subtitles I don't know how similar it is compared with YT, but proceed as you see fit. I won't be able to hear the audio anymore for any further episodes, but I'll surely read your scripts.
I know that if you modify some parts of the audio (so it's not 100% matching), like if you mute certain parts (maybe the sfx?) or change the audio speed in a few sentences here and there, it can bypass the copyright in a lot of cases. I've seen people do it for a lot of the fan subbed/dubbed/covers for various shows/movies/songs.
I dun think it actually bypasses copyright, just.makes it harder for software to detect.copyrighted stuff
The official announcement by Guodong Subs Penguin regarding the english subs for the donghua - http://yue-ciel.tumblr.com/post/175308240956/the-bl-animated-series-grandmaster-of-demonic They will upload the eps on their YT channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbiFCMCGXw-pzbprzp81NFQ/featured - so I sincerely hope this won't create other copyright problems for them as well.
Then the only choice I have is to subscribe them and watch the subs right away when it’s out in case it got taken down for copyright like other animes
To be honest they have another YT channel where they sub and upload other animated series (some even by Tencent) and have not so small playlist collection, so I suppose the donghua won't be endangered like the Radio Drama. Hopefully...... ^^ Episode 6 of the Radio Drama is out......
