The interesting thing about Sid is that he's really not a straight up idiot. His learning ability has been shown to be extremely high especially in areas where he's interested in. He learned the piano to the point where Rose (whose noted to be a genius in arts) is in awe at his skill, mastered a variety of martial arts while maintaining "mob level" (around average) grades and designed and invented the slime sword and suit before he met Alpha.

He's implied to be knowledgeable about human autonomy (he corrected his sister's misconception on fainting when chocked being related to losing oxygen plus he knows the locations of organs and important blood vessels), fairly well read (he read a variety of literature, both western and eastern, to Beta) and has enough general knowledge to give Gamma a starting point for her to recreate modern amenities. It's also almost certain that he unintentionally taught other skills to the remaining members of the Seven Shadows.

Of course this is all overshadowed by Sid's chuuni mindset, his complete oblivious to the various misunderstanding going on in his life and his fatal lack of social awareness. The funny thing is that he can become the ideal "Power in the Shadows" version of himself (a overpowered leader skilled in a variety of fields whose controlling a large organization no one knows about) if he just developed some awareness and took the job of "Shadow-sama" seriously but that will never happen so Sid will always be playing as a "Power in the Shadows" instead of actually being one.

 

This can even be said to be a higher version of fooling thy allies to mislead the enemies and he is fooling himself to bring chaos to the world

You should make a spoiler thread for the raws and link the thread for it to here. I did the same for Death Mage a couple of months ago and I think it works pretty well for that

 

I think people are only posting spoilers for the raws until the current arc is fully posted by the author...regular trans should start up again.

I for one, do NOT wish to read the raws...loses the chunni in mtl.

 

I don't either but I ended up reading the Death Mage raws due to the amount of spoilers in the LCD so I was hoping to be spared from doing that again. For me knowing any sort of spoiler in the upcoming arc makes me lose a little interest in the story

 

Is Death Mage worth reading ?

 

Short answer for me is yes. I put a few things below for my reasons why


For me personally its one of my two favorite novels on here with the other being Mushoku Tensei. Its pretty unique setting wise compared to most other isekai/reincarnation stories that Japan seems to be fond of. I really liked the first few chapters but it seemed to cool off for a bit then picked up a lot of steam in my opinion when it got to the second arc about 15-20 chapters in. While Death Mage is a little plagued with the food like most other novels are its at least worked into the plot in a meaningful manner. The premise of the reincarnations are to build experience for the 101 people who reincarnated (for the first one) and to develop the world so the population grows (This is for the second one). The story takes place between two different worlds as the MC is in his third life while the other 100 are still in their second.

Some of the things you'll be likely to see as you read. MC going from weak to strong, MC out for revenge, Kingdom building, Nobles and Politics, a rather large harem, a lot of death and one of the most unique evolution paths

 

"Harem"?
Is it another dense MC when it comes to girls?
That type of MC is so fucking annoying.

 

He's aware of the Harem and has accepted the fact that he has one but he is rather young so it takes a back seat. Most of the women in it has decided for him but the reasons for them are a bit of a spoiler. At least this harem will lead to Polygamy

The answer to your second question is no the protagonist isn't dense he's just absolutely insane/socially stunted instead. Same as above as anymore than this will be a spoiler
