Author spoiled that the alliance lasted really long so I don't think they'd go without Lorist.

The main reason Lorist started the 4 House Alliance to begin with was so that the other 3 houses wouldn't feel threatened by them and unite against them and later on it's been to expand the power of the house within the limitation of the Kingdom since there isn't much he can gain unless he reneges the oath of House Norton and splits off from the Empire.

Yeah the four Houses are comperatively useless, but the alliances has it's uses. Admitedly right now it's been problematic since the 3 other houses have been roused by Auguslo while Lorist's reins on them have been maybe a bit too loose.

 

really need that TotRL wikia. so many character names with forgotten identities. till now i still don't know who shazin and hennard are. i know one used to be a knight of the old duke of northlands but i have no idea how the other one met Lorist

 

and he's to lazy/smart to do all the hard work just himself

I did mean Gavelkind succession laws like CodeZero said, unfortunately Lorist doesnt seems to give shit to it, a successor should be appointed as quickly as possible, but author didnt seem to care about it at all.

if you guys got time, go play "Crusaders Kings 2", it makes learning about those laws, nobles rights and intrigues kinda interesting.

I find it interesting that it is the first in the search results when I google'd 'Shazin Hennard'. The page existed since Nov 2017 according to its edit history.

Apologies for the accidental release. I haven't had enough time to visit NUF lately.

 

I'm so hyped about this novel now, there are people who say ToTR ain't that great, no quality in just listing military stats and stuff and they would be right when looking at the convoy and founding saga, but the scheeming now is really interesting, it's definetely way way waaaay better than 99.9% novels here.

 

Overall, it's really good, the main character is rather intelligent but doesn't always get it right and learns from his mistakes most of the time. However it does have major flaws that could make it not as enjoyable.
1) The first 30-40 chapters
2) Some chapters are just pure filler and add nothing to the plot. Other times, a significant amount of filler is in a chapter in the form of an info-dump (military stats are ok, but repeating info that was previously mentioned is not).
3) This contrasts with the fact that some battles are just skipped. They are just summarised in one paragraph without going into detail of what happened. This saps some of the excitement out of the novel.
4) Some logical inconsistencies in the novel. Why is Felim's territory of Southern not a hereditary dominion in the beginning but not Lorist's Northlands and Kenmay's Siegdler? It feels like the author makes up some of the rules as he goes to balance out the novel since Lorist is too strong.
5) Lorist is waaaaaay too generous and a bit too cooperative with potential enemies. He gave 3 million fordes of presents to Fisablen 1 or 2 years before driving them out of Winston. He is far too helpful to the 2nd highness who he knows will screw him over more and more as he becomes more powerful.

 

5) is so annoying, since the beginning the idiot practially gave gold to that bitch and everyone else.

 

i didn't like some of the cremation and that part and some of not historically/erasing (some of the ) western but still very good novel

 

It's really dropped??? No more after chapter 591 ???
