Hi guys, (contains spoilers) Spoiler So recently I just finished reading Heavenly Jewel Change. Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome story, but there are some details that slightly disappointed me. 1) It's a pity that he didn't visit more of the world (he only once visited The Mysterious Heavenly Island or something like that) 2) I hoped to show more of his living with his wives and children. 3)The biggest disappointment was the end of the novel. When I read cultivation novels I expect from them that in the end, MC will be the strongest character out there. It's a pity that it didn't happen in this one. Its just my personal opinion and I would like to hear your ideas as well.
Honestly, MC becoming omnipotent, creating a new world, and reviving everyone who died, etc. are the shittiest kinds of ending s imo that make everything before it completely pointless. (Especially the reviving dead family members/lovers/friends part, it's so incredibly cheap) That said, most endings aren't anything to speak of anyways. And it's not like I'm reading novels for their endings either. Honestly I'll drop most novels long before I get there because they've degraded too much for me to get myself to read more. So bad/disappointing endings are kind of irrelevant for me.
I know what you mean. I thought that we were only in the middle of the story and then it ended. I wish that he would have at least taken the god ki because then he would become one of the most powerful and he would of freed Tang San
yeah I feel that too especially with cultivation novels, the worst I can think of is against the gods as it has got kind of boring now that his character has degraded from someone with good strength to the weakest being
Had to drop this at the spot before the final battle.. Cant read anything for more than a minute without the author mentioning the purity of bla bla bla energy. Every chapters every battles everything is purity this purity that.. blah..
Xiao Yan from BTTH wasnt the strongest character there was...but he beat them all...doesnt matter if u r top dog MC..
he is kinda the strongest person in his world but it seems like his world is crap compared to other worlds. the way tang san came in also made it feel like hjc was in a mini universe or something and it make sense that the author's main series is the "strongest" universe with the strongest MC
Few novels had the same issue. There was a theme where the mc's growth, wits & power got him through everything. Except, in the end... the theme suddenly changed. I would have been ok with it if it was done over a longer duration, to get into the mood of that theme of extreme danger & hopelessness but that did not happen. It was rushed, the conclusion, the details at the end... everything was rushed & everything was forced. A bad ending to what used to be a good novel.
The ending was rushed and unsatisfying. Honestly everything after he went back home was pretty disappointing to me, it's when most of the characters were abandoned and they roughly stopped using the power and skill system that had been built up over the story. There was so many abandoned story lines and plot points. Maybe he had a crappy ghost writer after that point?
the only disappointing about HJC is Spoiler: don't open unless you want to get spoiled (duh) the mc change his weapon preference and the tiger girl somehow become a spotlight in the novel
actually you shouldn't, beside the one I mention earlier, the rest was perfect. (besides, it's not your typical sword-user mc)
The ending wasnt terribad. It was unsatisfying though. It could have gone on for another 10 or 20 chapters for everything to be fully wrapped up properly and not just in the background.
