It's really just the outer robe that's styled differently. You have a robe styled inner "shirt" which is usually with normal or tight sleeves and ends at the hips/butt (may be varying amount of layers depending on dynasty or purpose like if it's for ceremony/celebration), pants, and then the outer robe (jacket/vest) and belt-sash that you see in the pictures. It only looks as complicated as it does since cultivation and eastern fantasy stories tend to mix up the styles of various eras XD
Hah... now I'm kind of sad about original WWX's body... No offence to the new body (and Mo XuanYu RIP) but how do you beat THAT /vague gesturing to adult WWX
Once the flashbacks are over I hope the Man Eating Castle Ark will be explored with more detail. I want WWX and Jin Ling bonding moments.
They each look like the have 3 layers of clothes is it all tied together by one bet sash? I just can't seem to understand how Wei Ying's outfit works when he was young, the outer layer is open on the top in a 'V' shape yet when it passes past the the belt is just a full rectangular shape between his legs. I don't know how he'll able to put that on...
Hmm...just realized that it's really hard to find a comprehensive how-to-wear video or picture collection. The young WWX's outfit is inner robe (white) + outer robe(gray) + vest (dark gray+red trimming) + sash belt (also dark gray and red). Each layer of closed robe does have individual belts but they're more like the thin 'belt' you'd have with bathrobes or long coats of today.
I don't think I understand vietsub... Why is the engsub so long... (I'm putting off watching the raw ver. in favor for the engsub... Waiting is hard)
There are 3 page who currently translating GDC, one is Chinese Animation, other is Mo Dao Zu Shi VN fanpage, last is a hardcore fan of GDC (actually they're all GDC fans) so yeah the speed is amazing, they've already done the second ep too.
I don't why but I laughed at that scene, Wei was basically observing the dead corpse, the normal reaction is usually to scream & run but Wei was just there chillin and thinking I assumed that he was in front of the corpse by coincidence? Wei just happened to come across the cousin's corpse. Although be it in the novel, manga or anime wherever Wei goes dead ppl usually follow or run away from him
I'm sorry if this is redundant but what event is the intro scene in the forest from episode 1 from? Were the corpses killed by him or were they just there? If it's the siege then why were they caught off guard?
In the introductory scene, you can see the crowd of soldiers are carrying lanterns with the "Wen" sect name on them! We can therefore guess this is during the Sunshot campaign, when Wei WuXian is in full-blown necromancer mode.
Oh by the way... right after Jin Ling says "Mo XuanYu was a crazy lunatic who hit on anything that looked pretty"... it looks like Lan WangJi was silently trying not to smile at that comparison to WWX! Episode 2, around the 28:01 mark Spoiler
I'm Vietnamese so, my father told me that we had previously the Chinese culture and had a lot of things of it. Until the French came and changed our writing style, many things of Chinese were anglicized to Vietnamese. And the Vietnamese got anglicized to Chinese. By the way they helped each other in the Vietnam war against U.S. I guess it's because of some language similarities they could translate it so fast.
