So since little, my parents (mostly my mom) have been telling me to not go to sleep with wet hair which I understand is bad for your hair. But recently they’re saying to not wash my hair at night at all because apparently water will get into your head?

I honestly don’t think this is true but it’s not like I would know if it actually happens or not. So what do you guys think? Is it true or is it just bs?

In my understanding, sleeping with wet hair will definately make it... rowdy when you wake up
As for how the water would get into your head... how ?

Does it get through ears or what? How does the time of day influence the result of hairwashing?

As for my opinion. If you wet your hair and go to sleep. Your wet hair will be a source of life on your bed. You see... Organism on bed will grow rapidly, like a bacteries, some bedbug or your bed will get stink more fast if you do that... Your Mother telling you something like "Don't sit in front of the door, or ghost will haunt you" but the meaning will be "Don't sit in front of the door, because you're in the way". Something like that... (._.

During sleep your brain is less active and as such colder, so having wet hair will lower your brain temperature further and the might be complications do to that, cold, fever, cancer and pregnacy(according with webmd everything can cause cancer and/or pregnacy)
But wahing and dryingproperly atnight shouldn'tbe aproblem

    That's... Not how it works.

At op, sleeping with your hair wet simply makes the bed hair in the morning worse, and you'd risk getting a cold due to, well, sleeping with cold water in your hair. By getting water in to your head i'd imagine she might mean it getting in your ears while sleeping, which i'd admit would suck, but i don't see why that would be different when doing it at night as opposed to at day.

As many people already say it's bad because fever, cold, and because water is the perfect medium of bacteria and fungi growing.

Its true but at the same time false since you'll catch a cold if you wet your hair and sleep on it. Mostly it just lets you know that its unhealthy to sleep on a wet hair since bacteria may get stuck on your head and catch a lot of diseases because of it.

Well actually I think It's a good idea to wash your hair before sleep. Firstly, It'll give some moisture to the skin which is good on area with cold climates. Secondly, if there's anything in your head it doesn't dirty your pillow.

Just make sure to dry it so you don't caught cold. Or nvm who in the world would want to go to sleep with a totally soaked hair lol :hmm:

also if you slept with your head wet doesn't it bad for your pillow and bed, since it will become damp and attract flea, and you have to sundry it everyday?

What is at night for you? Twice a week I do sports at 20-22 o'clock and shower afterwards. + drying my hair because I'd get cold symptoms otherwise.

Water can be incredibly harmful to a person if it's in the wrong place in the wrong amounts.
