For some weird reason i cant stand japanese words in nonjapanese novels
i of course like japanese novels, games and animes
but i hate japanese words/names with a passion on amateur/original novels and in chinese or korean translations
most of the time i stop reading those novels instantly because its cringey to me at least
i opened this thread to ask if i am the only one who feels like this

Korean has much better words anyway, Oppa and Unni > Onii-sama and Onee-sama.:blobsleepless:

Contrary to popular opinion , words loli not coming from japanese. it is coming from lolita, a novel from russian (not so sure) writer who tells about relationship old man and his 10ish year old stepdaughter in 1950-1960

If it's something like onii-san or whatever, then yes, that's totally unnecessary. I'd rather everyone got used to the Chinese system of address.

But keep in mind that there's plenty of pop cultural words that have been directly coopted from Japanese expressions into Chinese, either the characters or even phonetically. Moe, loli, tsundere, yandere, etc.

    I to a certain extent agree~?
Only a certain god-like character is allowed to be called Onii-Sama~~:blobsalute:
Well I don’t mind it when terms like tsundere or yandere are used in other language novels tho~~:blobunsure:

    PS:Can anyone guess who~?:ROFLMAO:

can tell you, personally, i have dropped quality" novel(s) you might say, that have many many 5stars all around them with "best this" best that" because they had like 7japanese/asian/whatever words for EVERYTHING on each chapter.. words for the head-servant lady, another one for the "official post" under the head lady.. and another word for the Madam of the house, and second wife".. dammit, they had a two different words for the child nanny that keeps follow the child of the house, all depending on how long they been there (since birth or mid way in life)... and those "glossary" were on each chapter, almost as long as the chapter itself ... simply raged quit that novel that was "ALL THAT and no negative remarks ... in my fantasi world, YOU DO NOT put Swedish words in a novel that is translated to Spanish, even if the author had children with a Swedish pig.. The point is, even if you found that novel in a Swedish forum on books, IS IT TRANSLATED to goddam Jewish from the old Egypt writing, THEN you want a sudden painted picture of a naked dude with a bird head as his face? in your novels that got NOTHING there to begin with...

I say, NO, go F your self, if u ask me to translate a Norwegian folk story book to /Jap/asian(English, you want me to throw in 10-20% words from the native tongue right in there, and specially key-point figures?...

I actually don't care as long as there's consistency in addressing. I can for example accept if one character call other Unni and another call her Nee-san as long as it is logical (for example the girl had Korean and Japanese siblings).
    Lolita by Nabokov...
