So i'm reading Martial Arts Master a Qidian novel (I know i hate qidian too, but they have a few decent novels) and in the latest chapters people have been wanting the MC and the FL to break up and other stuff to happen for drama, like tf? Am I the only one tired of drama happening for no god damn reason in novels? Seriously why do they want to put themselves through that? If they want drama so bad go look for novels with it sheesh.

Also I get it nothing sells better than a tragedy blah blah blah, well nothing gets more annoying than something being repeated a million times over. *cough* *BR* *cough*

Honestly put that spoilers in the title, but realized I didn't spoil anything after posting :blobawkward::facepalm::blobexpressionless:

Drama is basically their go to solution to make novels longer. We have to remember that a lots of novels have tons of filler chapters (especially Chinese ones). Sometimes, these fillers are too repetitive that I drop novels. Sad.

And nope, you're not the only one tired of them haha.

The drama in these novels follow the same concept of drama in soap opera. It is there to increase the length of the story. People enjoys it because it kills time and that is just what other people are looking for to be honest

Yeah true, actually should do that.

True and it's annoying I honestly don't know why it works so well, just turns me off from the story and makes me want to quit reading tbh.

Dude, I was recently reading [ The Results From When I Time Leaped to My Second Year of High School and Confessed to the Teacher I Liked at the Time ] and people were like "is this gonna be ntr" or "this is cute now but I bet it's gonna be ntr" and so on. Like wtf, it's just a derpy fluff story about a super unrealistic cute mature woman loving a decent mc that can actually manage to kiss girls without freaking out. Honestly, it's like they want that kind of shitty drama.

Anyway, other than my rant, drama is the reason I read stuff like Death March. Because there is none. Or at least drama that makes your head hurt, your heart, or both.

Jesus I saw those comments too, and it was a wtf moment for sure. I mean I can understand people asking if it's gonna be NTR as they probably want to avoid it, unless you're into that...but anyways yeah that had me going TF everytime I saw those comments.

Also yeah I like reading fluff stories with no drama, or bare minimum of drama as well to cleanse my soul, although when I get hit by hard drama right after reading those it just hits even harder :blobfearful::sweating_profusely::blobcry:

I despise unnecessary drama. I can deal with it if it's necessary, like to strengthen a relationship, but not if it's to provide filler. Dragged out drama is the worst, honestly.

I read books because I want to have fun and to just immerse myself in the novel... so why would I want to read something that makes me sad?

Fluffy novels are the best. A story can still have plot without unnecessary drama, as long as the author can write well.

If it's good drama I can enjoy it, but when it's dragged out or unnecessary af then it's just annoying. So sure depending on the drama grab the popcorn :blobpopcorn_cool:

I don’t mind drama as long as it doesn’t drag on for too long. Or reoccur over and over.

Drama that is done superbly for legitimate reasons and to spur legitimate, good development is fine with me. Actually, better than fine. :blobok:

Badly done drama just to pad stories with filler or done for stupid reasons is just .... well, stupid. I've dropped a few novels because they devolved into ridiculous and absurd drama to provide filler and allow for the stupidest plot developments. :notlikeblob::blobconfused:

I think some of the biggest perpetrators when it comes to unnecessary drama are cultivating novels. the ones which are like "i'm going into closed cultivation in a remote place alone" or "I'm going far far away for a stupid reason" only to then have 'bad' guys attempt to and/or succeed in kidnapping/raping/killing the female love interests. :blobunamused::blobconfounded:

Some F!MC novels also have just badly done drama as well.:blobunsure:

I'm caught up with the novel lol, but i'm talking bout the comments being annoying. I know more than likely there will be no drama between the 2.

Also let's not forget about all the authors that think the key to good drama is misunderstandings.

Oh, that's another thing. Misunderstandings done very well and only done sparingly, good.

stupid misunderstandings that could be solved with a few minutes of blunt talk yet last hundreds of chapters.. completely stupid as well
