SiZhui means exactly as @xaefyre said above, in Vietnamese translated as "to think of someone but can't chase after them" or something like that.
Ah yes! I did some googling in chinese and apparently sizhui's name comes from the line 思君不可追，念君何时归 which more or less translates to being unable to chase after the person they are thinking of and wondering when that person will return. I can only imagine how lwj must have felt when giving sizhui this name.

So Wei Ying and Lan Zhan gave the courtesy name Jin RuLan and Lan SiZhui... these two are destined to end up together sooner or later just like uncle Ying and father Zhan. It's inherited thru the form of name giving and not thru scientific means.
Can I ask what is the meaning of Jin Ling's courtesy name when WY gave him. I just want to know what is WY thinking about when he gave that name. I mean LZ is thinking about WY when he give Shizui's name, right? So I wonder how about in WY's naming case.
I don't think that the name RuLan, that Wei Ying picked, has any relation to Lan Zhan. Wei Ying picked it cause the current generation of the Jin clan members has the character 'Ru' within their name, so Wei Ying followed that tradition...
And the 'Lan' part of RuLan can just come from the fact that the Jin sect resides in Lanling, they did the same to Jin Ling birth name, the ' Ling' coming from Lanling... again I'm not sure
I remember somewhere in a post in here someone mentioned something about the "Lan" part of Jin Ling's courtesy name is Wei's way of hoping that Jin Ling grows up with with the same or similar principles as the Lan men. Wei kind of hoping or wishing that Jin Ling grows up righteous & virtuous, sort of like Lan Wangji ♡ I'll try and see if I can find that post in here though its gonna be tough lol

Well that's disappointing for Wei Ying. Cause Jin Ling has 0% of the righteous that the Lan Clan posses lol. I think is kinda interesting that both of Jin Ling's name has the character's for Lanling. Is nice to see that Wei Ying thought about the Lan sect while naming Jin Ling, he says he can't stand the sect cause they're too serious and strict, but silently acknowledges their good points all of those 13 yrs ago.
