Discussion please state the stereotype image of other countries you know

You would have to be brain dead to believe that. I also read those novels the author trying to potray the MC a good guy, while displaying the absolute worst of humanity all concentrated in the MC.

 

WOW! Now that is what we call a stereotype!

 

But sometimes, what we get instead are a situation where the author keeps making up excuses to justify the MCs homocidal tendencies.. and ended up making the MC looks like a hypocrite. Lol

 

Uh, all people known from America are football players, cowboys, and cheerleaders xD
oops, guess that first one is a bonus.
um, all canadians say eh, drown everything in maple syrup, and have bear soulmates

Australia: spiders everywhere, and the the highest count of species that will instnatly kill you, dont have siesta but more laid back than spain, surfing and barbie in the beach, and eat pie filled with meat. export lots of beef and seafood
New Zealand: where they shoot lord of the rings, and so many sheeps, like australia but more quiet and dont have the deadly animals and spiders

australia by australian: government is shit, each city have their own beer, we book time with our emplotyer for doing a strike, and discuss with colleague if they can cover us during the strike, spider is like housepet that visit once in a while to clear the house from other bug, except in the middle of city. we drink as much as german, walk and work as smoothly as japanese, and more leasurely than spanish. were the one that made masterchef, our food culture is enough to rival france and japan. fishmarket is a weekend outing, and outside of main city, its all farm. no other biscuit can beat our tim tam and city turn into outback in an hr drive

 

Now it's anime, manga, body pillows and weird game shows. And sushi.

Australia: Everything there (alive or not) wants to kill you. Heard even the plants wanna kill you.

The only mystery left for me is Japanese. Have seen pretty much every country with their close ilk.
India-Nepal-Pakistan
Syria-Iraq-Jordan-Lebanon
Somali-Central Africa-Sudan-South Africa
Belgium-Netherland-Bulgaria
Finland-Sweden-Poland
Whole SEA
These is pretty close with each other in demographics and culture.

Japanese though remains mystery to me. It remained distinctive enough unlike other advanced Asian country demographic like SK (copying US) and China (copying everything).

Japan and Taiwan are quite similar. If you live in China and don't want to go to Japan where you can't speak Japanese, you go to Taiwan, where Taiwan copies a lot of Japan's pop culture. Going to Taipei is like going to an Alternate Tokyo, but less hectic and... no, that's wrong, Taipei is just as hectic as Tokyo.

However, the rest of the country is quite different from Japan. Just like how the rest of Japan is not really similar to Tokyo, unless you're talking about the major cities. Taiwanese youths (Gen Y and later) are also the biggest weebs on the planet, even bigger weebs than Americans.

There are only two difference between Tokyo and Taipei. The first is that they speak different languages. The second is that Taiwan is pro military while Japan is anti military.

 

I bet she herself wouldn't really know. You wouldn't really know since even if you visit them and directly interact with them and experiencing their daily life nothing would be too strange of an experience (well save for one or two uniqueness in their culture). It all happen when they're asked to get behind anonymous door and were told to unleash their wildest imagination into a form.
