    Wait, you mean that "proper" book business don't force you to pay money to buy books that people that are being paid have written/translated?

    I. Just mourning, not bashing. Too much work for something thats supposed to be fun. And im not opening this thread for bashing, just a conversation with fellow leechers

    And i agree things have to go down this way when it comes to qidian. I just like the way ww do it. Leechers get things free in slow pace, while those with money can support. While the ad revenues support fhthe server.

    what does that have to do with what I said? I never said anything about "paying money". I am talking about convenience. I doubt most people are against the idea of watching a simple ad to support the tl'er. The problem here is that the method to obtain SS is inconvenient. Why should a person have to make multiple account to read the same shit they were reading a week ago just fine? The onus is on Qidian to be user friendly, not the other way around. The other option is buying SS which too has convenience problems associated with it (currency exchange, method of payment, income, age). Plus...it's like worthless? You can probably buy actually good books for a fraction of the cost it would take a finish a 1000+ monster.

    Edit: I was given the estimate of the cost from a certain snake that SS for 1000 chapters is about ~150 USD. Completely not worth it.

    Just get over it. most novels i read like tales of herding gods, LOPH, Cultivaion chat group etc are paywalled. Tales of herding gods 100 chapter which were free before got paywalled just leave and read other novels not by qidan. NU has given a lot of others to read.

    It’s not like there are certain other websites and sub forums that post the paywalled stuff for free shortly after it’s been released...

    And it’s not like I’d those alternative sources either. There are more than enough ways to get free SS.

    Since Immortal Mortal ended I haven't really had any SS problems. I don't read enough novels there.

    I get that people either are indifferent about Qidian or can tolerate it but I never understood the trolling or toxicity that comes with defending Qidian I often see on the forums. What is it about Qidian that motivates you to defend it so hard? I get the motivation for anti-Qidian but what does Qidian provide or done that makes users defend it so hard? Only thing I can think of is money and fake accounts (PR firms are notorious for this; trust me had a working relation with one)

    too bad I already drop tka since qi comes and disrupt the community.

    at least now they do it like a real men and not chum whose always hide behind the 10cent army that flooded this forums.

    at least there will be a dark side, which is piracy (doesn't it funny when we used to complain how Chinese plagiarism work and now for the sake of free thing we will pirate the Chinese), of aggregators site to work

    Nah. They will break somewhere along the way and pay for the rest of the novel chapters to read it till the end...
    Besides. CN novel usually ends for 2k+ chapters.

    You might have had a point if it weren't for the fact:
    -Most Qidian novels are poorly written, or poorly translated (or both)
    -You're paying by the word, which only incentivises the authors to pad word count with pointless filler
    -Most of their novels aren't even finished yet
    -They are stupidly priced considering all of the above

    Assuming prices are the same as they were in this post:

    Then if I wanted to read say Rebirth of the Legendary Guardian when I have no stones, with around 750 locked chapters, at about 10 stones per chapter, it would only cost me $50USD. For a copy of a novel that I can only read online.

    If I wanted to buy a novel, I can find far better ones for significantly less money. Written by real authors who aren't incentivised to pad for word count.Or if you consider Coiling Dragon, another translated webnovel only costs $30, and if I remember correctly has been professionally proof checked by real editors to tidy up all the little typos and other mistakes common in the web novel genre. But I could be wrong there.

    But sure, according to your earlier analogy, if you don't mind going to a restaurant and finding out your soup:
    -Tastes mediocre
    -Is watered down
    -Is only half full, and you're told you can come back later and they'll give you a thimble more every day
    -Costs $50USD

    I don't know if you'll happily pay for something like that, I certainly wouldn't. Not when there's similar soups I can get for free, or significantly better soups at other restaurants if I want to pay money.

    I have left any novel from them since long time ago, you know its not like their stuff is the best even the translation kinda meh. And if i need to read novel, you know there's a lot "outside" site provide it to us. google will help you.
