I didn't think episode 9 was bad. Of course more BL elements would be nice, but if they didn't "rush" it a long there is no way the donghua could be just 3 seasons. Still fun to watch. At least we know what really happened in the novel, so it's nice to see some aspects animated.
The more longer the episodes the more episodes I can watch. if can. make it like one piece these many episodes
TBH the only thing that dissapoint me of the donghua is that they are showing the past all at once... I think that learning of the past bit by bit with the progress of the plot made the story more enganging... I hope I don't sound like I'm a novel purist
I'm gonna start ranting... Spoiler Watching the eighth episode, I feel like Jiang FengMian deserves a punch to the face for not clarifying the issue of adopting WWX. Of course, it's great that WWX is adopted into a respectable family and doesn't have to wander the street as a homeless. But, with JFM keeping silent and not refuting any of his wife's allegations, he's basically subjecting his 2 children + 1 adopted kid to verbal abuse from his insecure wife, who's also affected by all the rumours about JFM as the biological dad of WWX. JFM needs to start looking at WWX as himself and not as a living manifestation of Zangse Sanren, and his children as themselves, especially JC, who is largely influenced by Yu ZiYuan because JFM has always been focusing on WWX, maybe justifying his attention with "WWX has been deprived when he was on the street"? P.S.: I think with JC's behaviour similar to his mom, no wonder he's looking for a wife with his sister's characteristics, basically someone that wouldn't argue against him at every turn. If only JFM had muster up the courage to reprimand his wife for accusing him of having an affair with WWX's mom, treated all 3 of his children similarly, and not giving more affection to one in particular, JC would have grown up to be a better man, and not emotionally constipated. Yep, like leto_b said, that's basically the name of the song. It's WangJi's Wang (to forget) and WuXian's Xian (to envy). So, the name of the song is basically "to forget envy." Kinda contradictory with LWJ, the vinegar jar.
