Lately I've been thinking about a solution to the goddamn eldian problem with the titans and this thread has the sole purpose answering this question: how to make the titans disappear? I couldn't reach any solution of my own so maybe you guys can help me. The theories can be as crazy as you want as long as it makes sense with what is currently know.
I don't read the manga and just follow the series but it isn't that complicated. Titans don't reproduce right? (outside someone converting humans into them). So if you keep killing them, they will eventually disappear. But instead of their solution of having people cutting them up manually, a simpler solution would be to figure out what specifically attracts titans and what doesn't. There are 2 options: 1) If titans ignore animals but go only after humans, how do they judge? Is it smell, sight? Would they go after monkeys for example? If not you can just train monkeys to kill the titans. 2) If they go after things by smell or other factor, can you trick them to swallowing explosives? The other option is to simply kill the titans manually. Instead of their solution of just sending people on horseback, it is much smarter to build underground tunnels. Then build towers through out the area. They can then control the terrain much easier and kill titans systematically with little risk. Actually, with how stupid most titans are, you can like literally have them stick their heads into a hole and guillotine them one by one.
Sorry mate this discussion is about the manga, we already know what they are and the problem you are talking about was already solved.
Im only like 6 behind waiting on a lot to binge read it cuase its gotten into a slump personally for me. Wanted to know if there was any new information for the problem.
As far as information about the titans go there was nothing, which is the problem. The way things are going now I see no solution on how to make the eldians stop turning into titans and/or how to stop the 9 titans from being continuously inherited.
It's definitely the most obvious one, but not only is extremely immoral but it's also an option the main characters would never choose for obvious reasons and extremely hard to actually implement realistically speaking.
