I’ve checked the original text and here’s the story: after the battle with the wen sect although the main sect(WRH, WC etc) was destroyed there were still some branches remaining. WQ&WN were the head of one of these branches and their territory was now devided and fallen into the hands of the Jin sect. WQ was a famous doctor, a strong woman and had good reputation so people can’t just go there and take her family away. So they forced her to go to another city to treat someone and when she’s back all her family were gone. She was desparate and run for help. WWX, as always, let a helping hand and got the information about WN. When they arrived they saw the remaining wen people were bullied and forced to do heavy work by the Jin sect disciples. WN was already dead. The Jin people said that he has fallen from a cliff but it’s more likely that they killed him. WQ fainted because of grief and WWX brought up a slaughter, making WN one of his zombie warriors( not yet the ghost general)and led the remaining WQ branch to the burial mound and lived there as Yiling patriarch.
So funny. I was the same and at that time it was way less but, I still could not do it and gave up. I came back and viola @Fiorisi did a great guide of everything on page 278, use that you will be thrilled.
