I once had an accident as a kid where the wall hit my head really hard. I have been quite forgetful ever since. So whenever the burdens of reality come over, I kinda forget about them.

I listen to epic music, creating epic scenes with powerful emotions. Then I try to write out those characters and setting.

    still working on it.

Unfortunatly there`s no best method but i do diverse things ...
Like playing cm3d2 on VR, other games, reading novels, reading manga, watching anime ... whenever i need to refresh my mind i go out and sit on a bench watching the sea, and just stare with no thoughts going thru my head, that really helps ^_^

i like to hover between death and life(take note i said Death first in this sentence, as i'm inclined to lean more on that side then the other)

    Sleep, music and work.

Sleep means no thinking (unless you want to count dream you won't even remember when you wake up).
Music gives me a good feeling whether it's an upbeat song or not. I just like listening to melodies and lyrics.
Work or study provides a simple and hopefully reachable goal. At least you could pretend you're a functional and productive normal human being.

I guess, that's my top three amongst all the distractions I've tried.

Listen to Heavy Metal/NeoClassical Metal/etc... and do practically anything. Playing FPS, washing dishes, taking a dump, exercising, feeling sorry for myself, or crying all while headbanging and having nasty thoughts.

Doing something that isn’t what I’m supposed to be doing or facing reality. When you’re busy you focus on the task that you’re doing and tend not to think about other things. Plus after you’re done you’re done, you don’t need to worry about it anymore. It’s the best solution lol.
