I'm reading another HP fanfic and it got me thinking, the original never did tell us about what he did after Lilly friendzoned him and he became a death eather, but we can assume he never tried or dated anyone after that, thus becoming a 40 year old virgin. This seems like a plothole though, I mean teens are cancers and it's not like you're gonna find the one when you're 15. I mean how much of a butthurt loser would he have to be to be complaining about being rejected as a teen 20+ years later??? That's simply unrealistic, most people would try with others, plenty of others, or at least some for the weird gloomy ones.
With how deep the death eaters were in the ministry you’d assume he’d at least be forced into sleeping/dating with people to get info right?
Seeing as how he was still deeply in love with her right up to the moment he died, I don’t find it so unrealistic.
Yeah but why then would he be butthurt about his first rejection as a teen so many years later? That's a plothole too, people move on, especially after not seeing one another for a long time. What's there to be deeply in love with, they weren't even together and they were teens! 2 months later he ought to be looking for a next girl to bang or date.
Maybe he tried to be a powerful wizard by becoming a virgin until 30+ years old, yet he failed midway and blame it to someone else. social media victim
But how big would the book be if every secondary character was developed in detail. Or may be she should wright a Snape side story? Or Malfoy (sorry for spelling, that blonde antagonist kid) side story? (Or a bl side story between the two ) (though probably JK R. would cringe at that suggestion... probably?)
I can but I won't, we probably don't have the same taste so look for yourself here, filtered for long and completed fics only : https://www.fanfiction.net/book/Harry-Potter/?&srt=4&r=10&len=100&s=2
MOST people do, some either can't or won't. Snape always was a loner, who interacted with few people and liked even fewer. At the same time he was rather arrogant, calling himself the half-blood prince, snubbing Petunia for being a muggle, etc. He clearly had several emotional issues, which is why Lily played such an important role in his life. She probably was his only friend and something of a sister/girlfriend/whatever mix. Even calling her his only important person (aside from himself) might not be that far fetched at all. Now imagine the pain of having her stolen by that arrogant bastard James Potter, the person who bullied you during your entire time at Hogwarts. The mix of emotions he felt must have left a lasting scar. I'm not saying that he did not (try to) sleep around after that, but he most likely found no one who could fill that hole Lily left behind. While he might have recovered with time, there was one thing that broke him permanently. He was the one that informed Voldemort about the prophecy that cause him to target Harry and thus kill Lily. In short: - He loved a girl since childhood - She started dating the person who bullied him since year one - She got killed because he wanted to please his boss If you can move on after that, ...
The girl would have had to be better than Lily and would have had to show more love... Else how would he forget the previous love he received??
If you disregard that Lily was most likely potioned to love James... (Suspects: Dumbledore, James, Sirius) Later when she was of the potion she was already pregnant, she become obsessed with love magic and discovered the ritual that eventually defeated Lord V. As for Snape, he foreswore females after Lily rejected him and hooked up with Lucius Malfoy. It was Lucius that gave birth to Draco if you didnt figure out that part yet. Narsicssa was oblivated. In Canon Draco is never a serious contender for the Black fortune even if he should have been.
Nah the logic in harpot is broken, I mean nice women irl wouldn't want to marry an asshole unless the woman in question is an asshole too.
