The recent dialogue reminds me of the earlier parts of PMG, before that MC became a psycho that kills without too much thought later on.
the whole chapter just repeated what it was saying over and over until that badass last paragraph, i was like WHHHYYYYYYY :'))
Personally I was expecting the first elder to destroy Dong Sheng Long but was disappointed. Dong ran so fast.
This conspiracy and debate talk between mc and the elder is going around in circles and is pissing me off...reminds of the same thing in PMG.
That punishment better not be the delay of him acquiring and injesting that bull paste he's been promised. I want some training powering up, where's my cultivation progress!
I expect a punishment that is blessing in disguise. Something like forced cultivation in isolation, so nobody can bother him, or entering some gruesome training domain ...
Most likely the case, First Elder has the support of the 4 other elders for real and not just because he scares them. He can do literally anything right now, looks like this might make this shit of an Elder even more mad than he is. Soon he won't be able to handle it and he'll get himself kicked out or killed.
So, is it time for the 4 statues to come, or can MC still control the situation on his own once the new dude from the heavenly god sect comes ?
It's either the statues or this ghost pavillion has a few tricks. We were made aware of some markings and we also know it was the "Zither Pavillion". For example, the MC could activate some sort of defensive mechanism if he plays the zither. Some sort of formation that anplifies someone with a great understanding of the Dao of the Zither. Blast the fool(s) who think he is free food. He could also somehow control whatever entities are supposedly in there.

"Named Hero -> Royal Noble -> Enlightened Being -> Ancient Saint -> Heavenly Sovereign -> Heavenly Monarch -> Virtuous Paragon -> Immortal Emperor" Man. How the mighty have fallen, I didn't realize Named Heroes and Royal Nobles were so low on the totem pole. Their sect went from having an Immortal Emperor, and I assume, a myriad of lower and upper level cultivators, to a single Royal Noble and a handful of Named Heroes. Where the heck's their Dao Reserve? This is equivalent to having a core formation expert (from ISSTH) as your sect patriarch and a handful of foundation establishment cultivators as your elders, you might as well not be a sect with that kind of power level. How the heck does a sect fall that far? It seems apparent that the sect is woefully ignorant of the kind of opportunities the sect has (Zither Pavilion). I guess a shit load of things can happen over the course of a hundred thousand years. Makes sense of course, hundreds of empires rise and fall during that time frame; it's just strange that things could have fallen that far.
It just sucks for them because all of their real elders died and the young disciples became elders instead. They probably didn't hold anything back because it was a fight for their old kingdom.
