not really, right now they are using GT to host non qidian novels, like age of adepts and koreans novels, so unless tencent (company that owns qidian) actually start acquiring others nvels sites like munpia and 17k i doubt that GT will disappear
at least until all current novel are completed

 

GT already ended the moment "it" was revealed to be a something related to Q. Right now, "it" is nothing more than a "tool" for a Q to "store" non-Q novels till they find a way to get it to the main site, the "individual" called "GT" had already died off long ago.
In Xianxia novel term, nothing more than a "puppet".

Wasn't that to be expected, after all Q turned GT into its own backyard garden, ever since the QI came to existence.

 

Tencent is to the best of my knowledge one of the biggest media companies in Asia with their fingers in most pies to some extent

 

What is gonna happen is people are gonna start reading the novel on aggregators site. Just a guess

 

I can't remember the novel I most recently read on their site, the only good thing about GT site was the arrow key chapter navigation that hardly anybody else uses.

 

Immortal and Martial Dual Cultivation isn't a Qidian novel, so I guess I will still go there.

 

Agreed if gravity isn't gonna host it, no need to support them.

One of the hateful side effects about that is how it erases all of the comments the chapters got on first release. There's loads of content there too... Now they will be substituted in webnovel.com by "thanks" and "exp". I hope Qidian found a way to port those comments over to webnovel.com and give Gravity and the original readers a little respect.

Btw, RSSG's not scheduled for forceful relocation yet? I've been bingeing that as of late, would hate to do so without the feedback.

 

It’s also been scheduled to go premium on 1st October, so only a week left before the comments disappear (announced in chapter 763 post).

I considered for a while to make a snapshot of all of the chapter pages (comments included) for TWO and RSSG, but it's kind of a hassle, I'm not sure there are tools for that. I could do a recursive snapshot from gravity tales' homepage but how much storage is that?

 

Wow! I wonder if RSSG can actually make more from premium than what their Patreon is bringing in ($26k a month)? Considering that Bonus spirit stones don't earn translators anything when they are spent on a chapter it may take a long time to equal that money.

It kinda feels like the TL/Editors are getting screwed

But there's generally 3 outcomes when it happens :

1. Keep reading and paying
2. Stop reading
3. Read MTL of it

 

4. Read elsewhere

 

That would be MTL, as lnmtl is the only site i'm aware of that still 'translates' and hosts qidian novels that are either being translated at webnovel, stopped being translated or never was translated at all.

 

I think they will do double paywall, like some of their novel
