Doesn't have to be a complicated novel. Just wondering because the only novel that I read twice is ISSTH

One way to decide if you want to re-read a novel is to ask yourself "what's this story about"? If you can answer that question then don't re-read it.

A year or longer. Usually for comedy novel. I don't like to read back most xianxia novel only if it's really funny.

I did reread some novels I had finished but I felt like the feelings were less present during the read and I didn't have this sad feeling of parting with the characters like the first time.
    Thats why I avoid rereading.

Only novels on NU that i've ever re-read are CD and ST. Nothing else has been worth it. outside of that, I went through a period where I just read the harry potter series over and over...

Never, my memory is shitty but when i start re-reading everything comes back to me quick and it sucks the fun out of it.
I have only read 2 or 3 novels twice in my life and i stopped trying after some 20 pages

Most of the answers states that a minimum of a year is required before picking up the novel again. While its understandable that a novel becomes "Boring" because you still remember the plot, characters, and endstory of the novel but can you guys recall a novel that is still a fun read going in for a second time? Because I'm eyeing LMS for a reread. XD

I re-read when waiting for the next chapter to be translated... some stories get better 2/3 time around. I stop re-reading once I can remember most of the funny bits in the story. Sad stories I tend to not re-read even if I liked them, eg Walk to remember by Nicolas Sparks. It’s a good story, but I will not read it again. Was on a ~10-12 hour flight when I read it, crying in tha airplane is probably disturbing to other passengers, but the time flew by.

I rarely re-read but when I do it's only to skim through the parts of the story I've forgotten.

I don't really reread any of my novels completely, when I remember a favourit part of a novel I read I end up just looking up and reading that specific part.

I never give it a minimum timing to re-read, but I usually did so after several other novels, whenever I feel like so. It could be the next month, the next year, or even the next week.
