Discussion How Do People Survive In These Xianxia Novels ?

Seriously how the hell does life continue in these novels, especially the chinese-oriented novel.

There's always an offended young master. Somehow, someway. somebody ends up courting death. Every goddamn faction or sect is filled with a bunch of scheming, narrow-minded assholes. Why is every so petty? You would think all that meditation would a person out. And why does the chicken and dog have to die as well? Why kill their nine generations, are really that upset over the slightest grievances. Why do the elders or older generation always try to fuck shit up? Last but not least, why is every female kidnapped due to their talents?

Honestly, the way this shit goes. It'll devolve to anarchy wasteland, or just straight-up extinction.

 

You can ask the same question with real world. I guess life, uh, finds a way.

 

There are billions of trillions of people in any given xianxia realm. A couple of billion of people dying each day when the arrogant young masters gets off is just a drop of water in the ocean.

 

I dont understand how these places have any mountains.... Seriously every fight they lose mountains, even when they practice they take out mountains... This poor flat world.

I don't know how a qi gathering low level practitioner, can act as a big shot in the mortal world, when a farmer would have the same level of strength and endurance.

 

They cultivate in the first place because they see how well the powerful are treated so they treat the weak with contempt, while every world believes in good mother and father = good children and lot's of stories have bloodline powers

 

You would have the worst time working at PETA in those worlds.

 

Here is the reason why the people in ancient times, believed the earth was flat. Turns out that it was like this.

Or how theres still beautiful as jade weak women for MC to woo. You would think these people are all sex objects by now.

 

the mc is the problem they f the balance by saving fodder characters.

 

The young masters don't actually kill anybody important (until MC shows up) so society continues just fine. It's actually a pretty reasonable guess of what life would be like with obtainable super powers. You obey the strong guy unless you have the power to oppose him. If you are weak, you find somebody strong to serve until you yourself are strong. If you find a treasure, you give it up or be prepared to hide it properly. Follow those rules and nine times out of ten you won't have to worry about offending nameless weaklings. The MC just turns all that on its head because he has plot armor.
Except for the females thing. That's just wacky. And no matter how beautiful and well-traveled the girl is, people don't try to kidnap her until she meets the MC. So it is clearly just more plot armor shenanigans. But xianxia romance is terrible anyway so who cares.

The most weird thing I find is that there is no real culture or day to day life stuff in any and the only from of entertainment is brothels and kicking others or playing with slaves which is rather stupid. You have so much interesting powers, and you are "suppose" to be calmer as you advance up.

 

For real dude, I just can't fathom how. Unless there's a mountain business going on

 

Cultivator guide book:
1. Meditate to act cool and impress the ladies
2. Pick fights against bigshots to impress the ladies
3. Kidnap the beautiful(and talented if possible) and make lots and lots of descendant

 

It's in the name of "advancing the plot and making the protagonist look cooler by defeating powerful people/groups". They're trying to further the plot, but the authors aren't being subtle about it. They just drop people into the novel one after the other and find a reason why the MC offended them.
Xianxia web novels are generally illogical.

 

Who knows? Maybe new mountains just magically replace the old destroyed ones. It's a xianxia novel after all. There are many godly beings. In some novels, they can even create their own worlds.

I'm surprised they haven't triggered a calamity or blown a hole through the middle of the planet yet.
