    Why do you curse & call names? Why do you do that? What do you think about people who curse/call names?

    I'm having some problems with 'implementing' my own ideas + view on this subject on internet "life".

    I'm just curious. No flame wars are to be expected!

    Swearing is therapeutic. For some people it lets them vent their rage and allow them to calm down.

    Curses are what they are literally called, curses. They have all your feelings, usually pent up negative feelings, into words. like f*** yea! or f*** you! are similar but opposite feelings. It doesn't really matter what words you use, just the intent behind them. If your writing a novel, you can always go FLUFFY PANCAKES! As the go to curse of the world. hey it works.

    Well, on another forum, one for "adults", this practice is verry common. Like calling one "massive waste of human flesh" or "internet moron/idiot" or other variations.

    I've began to doubt my ... Education and manners. I can"t comprehend that as a way of "socialising" between strangers and the tolerance to such things.

    Maybe I'm too tired to understand that, now.

    A way to vent frustration. I don't mind people who do it as long as they're not being too excessive and they limit it to the source of their anger. Hate it when they bring others into it

    It can be done as a joke like in the series Supernatural "sam : jerk --- dean : bitch" but mainly to hurt people, as a petty vendetta I guess.. It's the same reason why a witch would "curse" people in fantasy novels :D

    Are you talking about the likes of 4chan?
    Because these kind of netizens can't really be called adults. Most are pubescent trolls who simply enjoy insulting people. I think they are lashing out to make themselve feel better or something along that line, idk. Curses and insults are a way of letting of steam after all.
    I think it's rude, ugly and immature to do so with people you've never met and don't know anything about. So no, you're not weird or whatever. Politeness is a virtue.
