    I've been here for a relatively long time, and I've seen a relatively large amount of stuff happen.
    It some how seems that every year we get something new to marvel out.

    What do you guys think has been the worst scandal in novel translation history?

    Scandel most definitely but i feel like the DMCA against Bakastuki was more impactful against the community.

    What do you consider a scandel then? And what do you think is the worst scandel in Novel translation history.

    The scandal that involved a fake translation of a fake chinese novel but it was actually an original story, though they did use a cover poster of a real chinese novel

    I feel like it's a tossup between finding out that GGP/Gravity Tales were actually working for QI after they had spent weeks defending QI as a "3rd party" or when we all found out that OEM was actually a original story whose author was pretending he was doing a translation.

    Well rather than outrage that source tends to annoy and anger the majority though I guess it would be considered scandalous to the translators they screwed over

    Ohh well I guess if we go by the moral portion than yea scandal here scandal there scandal everywhere

    Qi paywalling everything though shitty seems to be in their rights.
    The ww vs qi scandal though, that was sheer and utter disgusting behaviour. They made a contract and then pressurised the other company to walk back on it.
    Furthermore the amount of shilling that was done by QI in that period, in WW as well as NU forums. Oh that was fcked up

    I remember that one xDD what's the title of that novel again ? I remember reading and loving it but stop caring about it after the scandal .

    Yeah that was the one, idk how they got caught but that was pretty entertaining, everyone was freaking out and outraged. I never read it so I didnt care but it was fun to spectate

    Thanks dude :O Sigh :hmm: I kinda wish that people didn't found out about it being original novel so that i could continue reading it without any problems :hmm: .

    And you're pretty cool to remember the title of that novel tbh :hmm: coz that was like 1-2 years ago right ?

    Yeah it would be fun it it had like 200+c in and got super popular before suddenly revealing it wasn't an actual translation. Would be fun to see all the chaos:blobpopcorn_cool:
